Chapter 203 - The poor kid...

Jane Chu would not have told Kai Xin about it had she known that Kai Xin would give birth a few hours later.

Han Ye gasped as his eyes went wide open. "What? Is she alright?"

Kai Xin nodded. Jane Chu came to visit earlier, and she had told Kai Xin about what had happened and that they needed more time to talk to Mo Yuan's mother, Ha Lin. Mo Shaoyun was at the last of his wits, and he had nearly shouted at the woman last night.

"The poor kid..." Han Ye looked at Mo Yuan, who was giggling at something that Little Monkey was saying to him.

"Jane left not long after she arrived. She said that she had something to talk to Ha Lin about, so she left with Mo Shaoyun after they spent some time with Yuan Yuan," Kai Xin said with a sigh. She felt pity for Mo Yuan. He was just a baby who was slightly older than her own daughter!

Han Ye frowned. There was nothing he could say in this kind of circ.u.mstance. Ha Lin was sick, and from what Han Ye knew, she had been taking medicines and trying hard to live on for her son. However, whatever was in her mind was probably too heavy for her. The moment she was off medications, she would slowly lose her mind again.

Kai Xin shook her head and looked up at Han Ye. "Tell Xiao Lei that I don't blame her. Little Monkey could be a bit mean sometimes. Please help me thank her, and tell her that I'd like to see her sometimes. I heard that she's pregnant with my future nephews or nieces."

"I will," Han Ye nodded and said, "and you heard correctly."

"I've told Guangying this, but you listen well as well. Since you're living next to her, it's a lot easier for you to do this," Kai Xin said. She then listed down a list of dos and don'ts as well as a list of what Xiao Lei could eat.

"Wait..." Han Ye raised a hand to gesture for her to let him talk. When she stopped speaking, Han Ye said, "She was pregnant before, so I'm sure she knew about all this stuff."

"Yeah, but it has been around 13 years since then, and I heard that she wasn't that well off back then. Besides, she's with us now, so if I can, and I can, I'd like her to eat better and more nutritious food. I've told Guangying that we would be sponsoring everything that she needs, so don't hold back on me. I don't think Guangying would hold back. As long as it's my husband's money, he would be more than willing to spend it."

She shook her head while smiling wryly. Luo Guangying had a crush on her previously, which Kai Xin had always pretended not to know much about it. Even though Luo Guangying was now with Callum, he and DX still had some sort of rivalry going on.

Kai Xin continued, "Xiao Lei might be uncomfortable with the things that we want to splurge on her, so please tell her that we are more than willing to do so. She's going to bring us a lot of joy, so it's only right of us to treat her and her son right."

Han Ye nodded.

Suddenly, Rin Nakamura, who had been looking after the kids, came over and said, "Kai Xin, you need to rest more and don't talk too much."

Kai Xin laughed softly. "I'm fine, Rin. It's just a C-section, and it's my second!"

"She's right," Han Ye said. "I'm just here to see that everything is fine. You should rest well. After all, you're probably going to have more visitors later. I'll go and take a look at your little baby. After that, I have to head home."

Kai Xin sighed. "Alright then. I'll see you soon."

After Han Ye bid farewell to the rest of the a.d.u.l.ts as well as the kids, he went to the nursery. Baby Wyatt in a special room because of his premature status, but he could still see him through the window, where An Xin and Lu Ziyan was standing outside.

He joined them as they watched DX slowly pacing around the room while he hugged his newborn gently but firmly.

"I'm glad he has another son..." Han Ye murmured.

Lu Ziyan smiled as he looked at DX smiling at his son. "He used to complain about how this boy was already giving Kai Xin a headache before he was born, and he was sure that he would be a little troublemaker. But look at him now... He still loves that kid just the same."

An Xin placed a hand on Lu Ziyan's shoulder as she said softly, "President Du doesn't strike me as someone who would complain."

"Oh, he does. Just not so much in words. It's in his eyes and body language," Han Ye said with a chuckle.

An Xin smiled. She then looked back at DX and the baby, and her right hand slowly moved to caress her belly as a sad expression appeared on her face.

Lu Ziyan noticed it, and he pulled her hand away before placing his ear on her stomach.

"What are you doing?" An Xin asked as she looked at him with a slight frown on her forehead.

"Just practice for when you're pregnant with our child," he murmured as he pretended to listen for a small heartbeat.

An Xin could feel the heat rushing to her face, and she quickly turned her body slightly to the side. "What are you talking about? Y-you knew that..."

She did not continue her words, and as if she was embarrassed by her own body, there was a complicated expression on her face.

Lu Ziyan gave her a mysterious smile, but he did not say anything else. Instead, he placed a hand around her waist and pulled her closer. When she did not reject him, he merely rested his head against her waist as they both looked at DX putting the sleeping baby back in the incubator.

Han Ye smirked, but he kept his mouth shut as well. This was between Lu Ziyan and An Xin, so he did not want to reveal too much, especially since he knew that Lu Ziyan wanted to give An Xin a surprise.
