Chapter 16 – Another Dream

There was a plethora of dishes, meat, vegetables and seafood. There were also cakes. Jiang Sihan kept his head down the entire time to eat. It had been a long time since he had such an exquisite meal. Fortunately, no one paid him any mind. Only Luo Bei knew that he had three large bowls of rice in a row. He had to have been really hungry.

Jiang Sihan looked to be around her age. It was normal for guys to eat a lot, it was just that he couldn’t eat well often that he was skinny.

After eating and drinking to their satisfaction, everyone’s face was filled with joy.

With Luo Bei’s reminder, Jiang Sihan brought out his guitar. He moved away from Baby Chen, afraid that the loud sound would affect his hearing.

Although he was only sitting on a stool, although he was in a dilapidated room, and he was only wearing a shirt and jeans and randomly worn flip-flops, so thin that a gust of wind could easily blow him away, in that moment he started fiddling with his guitar, the usually taciturn man seemed to emit light from within. He was dazzling.

His voice was really nice to hear, like he was born for this.

Even Baby Chen quieted down. Everyone in the room focused on him and listened to his singing.

It was a melody that Luo Bei had never heard before, very nice.

In the autumn afternoon, sunlight coming in from the windows, the warm light shone on him. He was immersed in the music.

In these times of hustle and bustle, his song seemed out of place. The artistic mood as well as the song’s pleasant melody required people to calm down to be able to immerse themselves in it and appreciate it.

When he finished the song, Grandma Luo was the first to applaud.

Jiang Sihan looked up at the people present. He had a feeling he couldn’t describe. He had always sang wholeheartedly, but up until now, it seemed they were the only ones who actually appreciated it.

Luo Bei, who didn’t dream often, started to dream again on the night of Baby Chen’s man yue.

She dreamt of another novel she hadn’t read. Although it was a novel, she only dreamt fragments of it.

The story went like this: the male lead had loved music since he was young and studied music. But as everyone knows, studying music and the arts requires a lot of money. His family couldn’t afford to support his dreams, so after a huge dispute, the male lead came to an unfamiliar city he had never been to. He wanted to start his life here. In the beginning, he was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. He looked forward to being discovered one day. Who would have thought that face rejection upon rejection and he was left with not much money.

He couldn’t sing on the streets and have pedestrians give him money. He wouldn’t. He also sang at bars but because the songs he sang weren’t popular, weren’t what everyone liked, he was always dismissed. Because of his good looks, someone asked him to star in a web drama as the second male lead. Although his ambitions were elsewhere, he was struggling in life. He had to work, he wanted to try separating his dream from work.

Nobody expected that he became famous through this subpar web drama, the male lead wasn’t as popular as he was. He started to film dramas for TV stations. He was blessed and very lucky. He had a natural talent for acting and he was very charismatic. He very quickly began to film movies. Fortunately, he became a film emperor before he reached thirty years old.

After he was rich and famous, he began to direct his attention to his old dreams. Everyone found out that not only did he act well, he sang well, too. Although the record industry wasn’t doing so well, he was already very popular from the get go, selling countless albums. Letting nature take its course, he hosted concerts. Some people said he was a miracle.

After all, in this day and age, there were very few film emperors who were also Heavenly Kings1 [javascript:void(0)]The Four Heavenly Kings actually comes from Buddhist theology, and refers to the deities who protect the four corners of the world.
