Chapter 300 - The New Contract...

Tanaga was rushing inside the hospital to the point where he almost tripped himself. For the first time in his life, he ran like an Olympic sprinter.

While standing in front of the elevator, many thoughts formed inside his head. His head had begun to hurt because there were so many flashbacks playing in his mind.

The elevator opened in front of him. "Sir Jones, are we going in?" one of his bodyguards asked, full of respect.

Tanaga came back to his senses when he heard the question asked by his bodyguard. He frowned first before answering, "Yes! What do you think? We'll just stand here to take a picture?" Tanaga retorted – frustrated – to the bodyguard before entering the elevator.

The bodyguard was speechless because of his tone. To him, the ride inside the elevator felt like the journey to a funeral.

Fortunately, they were alone in the elevator. As the air inside was condensed, the two bodyguards were almost not breathing in the fear of getting scolded again. They arrived quickly at their destination.

Right after the elevator opened, Tanaga quickly got out and went straight to Ashley's room. While he was getting near, he saw that Ashley's family was leaving. He sighed in relief.

Tanaga let Ashley's family go further away before he approached Ashley's bodyguards. "Don't let anyone enter her except if it is an emergency – understood?" Tanaga's voice was slightly loud when he commanded that to them.

"Yes sir!" the two bodyguards answered simultaneously. The bodyguards of Tanaga stood beside the other two bodyguards.

After Tanaga entered the room, Tanaga locked the door to make sure no one could really enter.

"Make sure you sanitize well!" Ashley happily joked, excited to see her sons.

When no one answered Ashley, she raised her head and looked at the person who entered. Her eyes widened in shock. She was speechless.

Tanaga slowly entered while looking at Ashley without any emotion.

Ashley rubbed her eyes to make sure her eyes were not bluffing her. When she rubbed her eyes again, Tanaga was still there and not speaking.

Then Ashley pinched herself to make sure she was not dreaming. "Ouch!" Ashley shouted after she hurt herself. "I'm awake and I'm not dreaming, but – but what is this?" she whispered to herself, clear enough for Tanaga to hear.

"You're not dreaming. Pinching yourself is just a waste," Tanaga declared while walking towards Ashley's bed.

When he arrived at her foot side, he coldly continued, "I closed the door so that no one can disturb us. We need to talk." He didn't even greet her nor even ask how she felt.

Ashley's shock muted her speechless. She didn't notice that her tears started to fall.

She couldn't believe that her dearest husband was alive and was right now in front of her. Yet she was confused about why he was treating her like that. It felt as though he had anger towards the world – what did she do wrong? She couldn't speak because of this aura.

When Ashley wasn't answering, Tanaga decided to sit on the other end of the bed.

"Did you hear what I said? I said that the door is locked and no one can enter here until we finish talking," Tanaga declared but this time in a higher tone, his face visibly irritated.

Ashley snapped out of her idleness but still couldn't utter a word. She just nodded. Her mind was wandering and seeking answers to why Tanaga would treat her like this.

"Well, as you can see, I'm still not dead so don't get confused about why I'm in front of you," Tanaga said as he threw an envelope to Ashley.

The envelope landed on her stomach where she was operated. She grimaced in pain yet Tanaga didn't even move at what he saw.

"Read it. If you agree, sign it so that I can get back." Tanaga's voice was harsh.

Ashley – who was spacing out – looked at Tanaga. She was crying when she replied, "P-please sit on the sofa first and give me a minute to read what you just gave…" Then she picked up the envelope Tanaga threw.

Ashley's hands were trembling as she opened the envelope. 'What's inside? Don't tell me he'll take the kids from me? What happened? Why did he suddenly change his mind?" Ashley was full of questions, but she couldn't look straight at Tanaga who was sitting on the other end of the bed.

"Do you need a hand on opening the envelope? It's the simplest thing yet you can't even do that properly. I can't believe I chose you to be the mother of my children." Tanaga stood up to sit on the sofa, distancing himself from Ashley.

Because of what Tanaga just said, her blood boiled. But when she thought of where she stood in Tanaga's life, she calmed herself and didn't talk back. Instead, she hastily opened the envelope and brought out the paper inside.

She quickly read what was inside the paper. The whole room was so quiet that only the turning of pages could be heard.

Ashley finished reading the papers, she looked at Tanaga who was silently sitting, legs crossed, waiting for her to finish.

"Excuse me, Sir Jones! Do you have any pen I can use?" Ashley asked seriously while looking at her husband without even blinking.

When Tanaga heard Ashley called her 'Sir Jones', his eyebrow rose up and he smiled slyly before standing up. Rather than answering her, he walked beside Ashley's bed and opened a drawer.

When he saw what he was looking for, he immediately took it and stepped back a bit to give the ballpen to Ashley.

Ashley's eyebrow also rose up because she felt that Tanaga was disgusted by her. She quickly took the pen and signed the papers one by one before throwing it back to Tanaga.

Tanaga moved fast and caught them. He looked at the copy Ashley signed before also using the same pen to do the same.

When Tanaga finished signing, he gave the other copy to Ashley.

"Make sure that you follow everything inside the doc.u.ment. If not, you won't be able to see your sons!" Tanaga then turned around to leave.

That was the time Ashley let out her emotions and cried out loud as if it were her last…
