Chapter 375 A Win-Win Game

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the small asteroid that orbited around Planet Titania, Nak warriors clashed with the aggressive Space Bugs in another skirmish that didn't seem to have an end as the Nak warriors doggedly defended their territory and Spaceship.

Attacks flew about in the air as both sides clashed fiercely.

It was already 2 days since the first clash, yet this showed no signs of subsiding anytime soon as more Space Bugs kept on being sent to this asteroid.

After preventing the intruders from completely escaping its territory, despite not coming personally yet, the Grade B Space Bug did not shy from sending hundreds of thousands of its subordinates after the intruders every few hours.

No warrior that had the privilege of being in Champion Onana's crew was weak, in no time, not only did they help build Onana's requested mechanic workshop, but they were also able to turn the asteroid into a defensive bulwark.

In here, they defended till their last stand.

The only problem was. 'If reinforcement don't come soon, we're screwed'.

'Also, for the past 2 days, we've only been fighting the regular Bugs'.

'The day more powerful Bugs are sent, our defensive bulwark will likely be breached and if the Grade B Space Bug deems it ok to make a trip here one day, unless the Champion intervenes, we're as good as dead'.

'And like the Captain said, who knows if there are more than 1 Grade B Space Bugs inside Planet Titania?'

'It's a Radioactive Giant afterall'.

Depressing thoughts like this constantly filled the mind of the warriors, but this did not hold them back from giving their all to defending the asteroid.

Afterall, the life of their designated Champion depended on it.

While they gave their all to fighting the Space Bugs though, Champion Onana focused on studying his test subject in his makeshift workshop.

"What a marvel of natural evolution!" His eyes shone with awe and fascination, a trait that Legolas would be familiar with if he saw it.

The shine in his eyes was reminiscent of all mad scientists.

"Have you discovered how they are so powerful?"

"Not really". Onana turned to face his captain. "But through my Quantum Sight bloodline ability, I was able to look into the past into their history".

"During the reign of the imperious Empire who ruled over the Roronoa System thousands of years ago, these Bugs were nothing more than slaves. They were the slaves of the reigning Empire race, tasked with doing menial jobs".

"Their constant exposure to metal and radiation mutated them".

"Not only did they grow overtime to develop metal exoskeleton, their immunity to radiation also increased by a lot".

"This was why after the radioactive pulse caused by the Emperor pressing his suicide switch, they were the only survivors".

"Of course, not all of them are as resistant, a lot of them died but the others who survived became much more powerful and resistant to radiation. Not just that, these powerful survivors gained the ability to absorb radiation to grow".

"If I'm not wrong, from my conjectures, they probably also reproduce through radiation which explains their crazy crave for more energy".

"It explains why I spooked them awake from their slumber; it was the starship. Perhaps, if I went in alone, my energy signatures would have been too weak to awaken them from their slumber".

"Ummm…" The tall and skinny captain interrupted, he coughed. "Have you found any clues for us to defend against them more effectively?"

"Not really". Onana replied nonchalantly.

Then his eyes shone again. "I believe with time though, I'll truly understand their crazy bodies and potential, I believe this discovery alone is worth my decision to follow the Admiral's directives".

The captain sighed. "Like expected, you don't even care about the consequences".

"Why care so much about consequences when you cannot effectively change it? You'll get old faster, just enjoy life".

The captain walked away without replying.

A few dozen minutes more, the skirmish finally came to an end as after expending their energy reserves, the Space Bugs returned to their Planet to recharge, this was another trait of the Bugs that they've noticed.

'When will reinforcement come?' The captain thought.

Unlike the Unchartered that spent weeks due to Champion Onana's whims, moving around the floating asteroids and checking different remnants of history before going to Planet Titania, General Aztog's deep strike force was direct.

It took them 3 days and 10 hours to arrive in Planet Titania, and this was due to the interference in the higher dimensions caused by the radioactivity and the floating debris and junk that filled the Roronoa Star System.

Since Champion Onana intended to go to Planet Titania from the start, they arrived close. As soon as they arrived though, they were shocked.

They saw over a million creatures charging out of the Planet.

[WARNING! SPACE BUGS DETECTED!]

The Golden Cicada was an even better Spaceship than Champion Onana's Unchartered, it's powerful sensors and processors immediately detected the threat. General Aztog didn't even think twice before giving orders.

"Attack!"

"We ask questions later".

BOOM!

The main cannon of the Golden Cicada opened fire, spreading an expansive wave of destruction that annihilated more than 200,000 Space Bugs instantly.

The Destroyer followed cue with the destruction as both Combat Carriers and Logistic Ship hovered behind the 2 frontier Batteships.

"INTRUDERS?!" An angry voice reverberated inside Planet Titania.

"ANOTHER INTRUDERS?!"

"INTRUDERS!"

"INTRUDERS!"

"KILL!"

Incensed by the sudden appearance of another intruder, the powerful Grade B Unique Space Bug combined all 3 of its abilities again before unleashing a mighty power blast that penetrated the sphere of the planet outside and into space.

[WARNING! INCOMING ATTACK DETECTED!]

The Golden Cicada strengthened it's shield on time.

BOOM!

The impact and vibration were felt throughout the ship.

[15% Shield Integrity was depleted in 1 attack!]

"What?!" General Aztog was horrified.

"That is already Grade B power!"

His eyes widened. "Is this what damaged the Unchartered?"

At this same instant, the Golden Cicada's A.I communicated again.

[Target Found: Unchartered!]

[Asteroid #023424]

General Aztog had no intentions of mingling with the remaining Bugs anymore after that attack. Without hesitations, he ordered his deep strike force away from Planet Titania as they accelerated towards the asteroid.

A few hours later…

General Aztog stood before Champion Onana.

"Welcome General".

"Thank you, Champion".

General Aztog looked at the specimen of the Space Bugs that just attacked them. "There are really strange things in the world, who expected a Space Bug species to secretly be hiding here?"

"The world is indeed a big place". Onana smiled.

"The Unchartered is undergoing repairs now and will be FTL travel worthy again in at most 6 hours, then we can finally leave this dangerous frontier".

"Why should I leave?"

"I will…, umm, what?" General Aztog asked with wide opened eyes as the reality of Champion Onana's words sank into his brain.

"You don't want to leave?"

"No". Champion Onana turned to look at him. "And neither will you".

"I want to thoroughly understand this Space Bug species, I have a hunch that understanding them will play a major role in my future progression as a super".

"Did you know that they are cyborgs like me?"

"Despite their extreme modifications and evolution, inherently, they still have a heart that pumps blood throughout their whole metal body".

"It is an intricate balance of organic and metallic elements that still battles me to this moment how it's living, it is the wonder of evolution".

"I want to study it".

"And besides, my new ambition is Planet Titania, it is a metal Planet".

"It's too dangerous!" General Aztog was almost freaking out.

"Where's the fun if there's no danger?" Onana smirked.

He turned around and finally compromised. "I'll help you take over Planet Darvis, but before that, you will protect me here for 5 years as I engage in my research to thoroughly understand this species of Space Bugs".

"In 5 years, whether I fully understand them or not, we'll go conquer Planet Darvis. While you fulfill your mission, I'll start my ambition".

"I will turn Planet Darvis into my base".

"Like I said, I've got a new ambition, Planet Titania is now my goal".

"After helping you conquer Planet Darvis, in exchange, through resources from Planet Darvis, I need your cooperation in creating a fleet that is powerful enough to defeat the Space Bugs and take over Planet Titania".

He turned and looked into General Aztog's eyes. "You help me, I help you".

"It's a win-win game".

"What do you think?"

General Aztog thought. "I…"
