Chapter 376 Need For Speed And Urgency

"Army Commander, another invasion force has entered our planet".

Legolas' eyes widened in shock as one of the high-ranking Grade D warriors in his army reported this to him. "Inform Vice Commander Christensen to take charge of the army while I'm gone, I'll be back".

'Another invasion force, what is their plan?'

Different thoughts and speculations filled his mind about the reason for this 2nd invasion force but Legolas did not let this make him stay idle.

Legolas dared not hesitate, he called for all his beasts.

For the first time since getting Warp Prime, Legolas got prepared to go to a possibly real battle taking every single one of his beasts along.

All 4 of his contracted beasts and their Spirit Beasts were summoned.

He would have loved Lucky's presence but since coming back from her trip outside Planet Darvis, apart from urgent situations, she spent most of her time with her Fox buddies in random locations either in the Beast Plane or the Elemental Plane.

"Army Commander, what of Uranus?"

Legolas paused; a picture of the mischievous little Titan flashed past his mind. "Ehm…, shove him to Pugilist Master Blade, Vice Commander Heimdall and Vice Commander Nagakin will be accompanying me there".

In no time, 2 of his Vice Commanders were gathered before him as they tore the fabric of space open before teleporting out of the military base.

Legolas and his Vice Commanders were not the only ones that were alarmed. After the first invasion attempt from the Nak warriors, Core Protector Daemon became determined to create a better and faster warning system.

Daemon was determined to be a worthy successor to the President.

By augmenting the existing sensor machines of the Core Protection Alliance, and mixing it with his own Necromancy specialties, Daemon developed a fast-response system where he could send emergency messages out.

This was possible even with heavy interference from the Nak warriors, Daemon already tried this out as he clashed with Captain Miyamoto Chan frequently, using these skirmishes to learn more about his opponent.

Norman may be dead but a lot of this crazy Elementalist's mannerisms still rubbed off him even in death, this made Daemon a crazy war monger.

He already clashed with Chan enough to leave the alien Captain frustrated.

Through his fast response system, not only Legolas of the Nightmare Army was alerted, this emergency alert also got to high-ranking supers like the High Officials and the President.

Just 10 seconds after the second advance fleet entered Planet Darvis atmosphere, more than 10 Grade C Superhumans were already gathered in the headquarters of the Core Protection Alliance.

Unlike the first invasion attempt though, Captain Jackie Lee did not make an impulsive attack decision as he was already warned by Miyamoto.

Knowing that 10 Grade C Superhumans were waiting for him below, he took the wait and see approach as his advance fleet gradually descended to the planet.

"Mr. President, your orders?" Core Protector Daemon asked.

"Stand your ground".

President Shanks looked up at the descending Spaceships. "From what Legolas explained, taking on a Battleship is not exactly a compelling idea. We would have to pay a significant prize just to take one down".

"For now, stand down". His eyes gleamed.

"Unless they attack us first, we won't attack. We don't know why they sent another advance fleet but my hunch tells me it's still to build their foundation".

"They're not yet ready for a full-blown war against us".

"What this instead should prompt us to do is to accelerate our plans".

"Since they are intent on giving their best, we should give more than our best to bolster our planetary defenses and give them enough resistance".

No one objected to the plan, so they just watched the enemy fleet's descent.

In no time, Captain Lee's advance fleet descended to the surface beside Captain Chan's fleet. Of course, perhaps as a show of intent, a powerful warrior radiating Grade C power levitated out of the fleet.

While he did this, his Logistic Ship already went to work on building a war fortress similar to Chan's war fortress, they were fortifying their fortress more.

From what was happening, both defensive forts would be merged together to form a war fortress that was sturdier than the sum of it's parts.

Unlike Captain Chan with his black hair that highlighted his yellow face, Captain Lee was a bald but his most prominent feature was his special energy.

He was clearly an Elementalist but his energy was a strange one.

Only Legolas recognized it as he narrowed his eyes. "An Elementalist who mastered magnetism…" He furrowed his brows. "Such troublesome opponents".

Despite the blatant provocation from the Nak Captain and the arrival of another enemy fleet, in the end, what mattered to the humans was that battle didn't break out and the alien captain didn't push his luck.

But this action from their opponents laid bare the need for some attributes.

"There's a need for speed and urgency". President Shanks said as a troubled look came over his face.

He turned to look at Legolas. "Have you contacted them?"

"I've sent them messages in advance, I intended to go 2 days from now but after this, I think it'd be more reasonable if I go today".

"Good". President Shanks nodded. "I also found clues about our ancestors".

"If my conjectures are right, their hideout is in the Arctic Zone".

A few minutes later, after helping to further bolster the defenses of the Core Protection Alliance headquarters, they all disbanded.

Legolas no longer hesitated, sending his other beasts to the beast plane, he rode Bran to the desert back to meet some familiar faces.

It still felt just like yesterday to him but it was already months since he last met his friends from the desert tribes who he helped during the Clown Society rampage. Through Altan, he always kept constant contact with the desert.

About an hour later, Legolas was seated before Tribe Chief Kohama.

Not just Tribe Chief Kohama this time, having been informed of his arrival ahead of time, all Tribe Chiefs from the 7 major desert tribes were gathered.

This time, Legolas was not sitting before them as a stranger and as a weakling, he was sitting before them now as an equal and as an honorary citizen.

"The Clown Society was never the end to the threat to our lives".

"It was just the prelude to something greater".

"And now…, it is starting".

"Clown was working under the whims of someone and now this someone is here, here to finish the job that they started".

"I believe you all noticed when the giant metal infiltrated our planet from the skies, that is our enemy, that is a Battleship used by enemies to invade our planet and it is a demonstration of the disaster to come".

Legolas dropped a manual that contained most of the common knowledge about Battleships that he already prepared for them to show his goodwill.

"To survive and protect our lives and the lives of our children, we need to stay united as a planet and fight as one against our enemies".

"This is why I came to meet you all today".

"The same way in the past you called for help and I came to intervene and help, I have now come for help from you all too".

Tribe Chief Kohama representing all the tribes did not hesitate. "A threat to the planet is a threat to us all, we cannot stay idle".

"We will do everything that we can to help".

Legolas slightly bowed in gratitude. "Thank you, Tribe Chiefs".

A sense of urgency seemed to have descended in Planet Darvis.

Even the civilians noticed it subtly as they all felt a sudden urge to finish their tasks faster. Under President Shanks' rule, a lot of construction projects were on in a bid to turn the planet around and fortify it properly for the invasion.

While the ones in charge of these constructions felt the urgency, pushing them to work faster, their President embarked on a mission.

Deep in the night, as winter snow drizzled in the North, a warrior dressed in black appeared as tracing through his calculations, he went deep into the North.

Like in every other continent, after the apocalypse, there were death zones marked outside the human shelters that were heavily populated by powerful monsters. This night, the President of Planet Darvis willingly entered a death zone.

This was to further his quest to search for his ancestors.
