Chapter 374 Rescue Mission

The Giant Nak Fortress…

The main strategy compartment of the Golden Cicada, the flagship of General Aztog's fleet was occupied as the General had another meeting with his highest-ranking subordinates after the first probe invasion.

"It's been 2 weeks since I sent Miyamoto to Planet Darvis".

"All in all, we've received only good news for the past 2 weeks".

"Not only was he able to breach the fragile defenses of the defenders in Planet Darvis, like planned, he was able to land directly close to the biggest Arcanite metal vein, giving us the perfect foundation to build on".

General Aztog turned to look at Alexander. "You played a big role in this".

"Thank you, General". Alexander remained humble.

The General turned to look at his remaining 3 Captains in this room. "From our first invasion attempt, we were able to deduce a lot of things".

"Like expected, despite Legolas' unexpected rise, they are still bumpkins from a backwater Planet, they have no planetary-grade defense systems".

"This makes the initial parts of any invasion feasible".

"My plan is to take it one step at a time".

"As proven through Alexander, the Superhumans of Planet Darvis have a penchant of exceeding their limits when pushed close to the edge".

"This time, I don't want to make the same mistake".

"This time, we'll take it slow and steady, we have 10 years Afterall. With Miyamoto as our foundation, I expect to get a foothold in Planet Darvis, building a stable supply of raw materials to sustain our fleet".

"It is only when we're truly sufficient that we can start a galactic war".

"That way, we'll be killing 2 birds with one stone".

"Through their own resources harvested from their own Planet, we'll bring an end to their existence".

"This plan is only feasible because of their lack of knowledge".

The Nak General smirked. "This is the price to pay for ignorance".

Then, he suddenly turned to look at one of his Captains. "Jackie Lee, you're next, you'll be going to Planet Darvis with a similar fleet configuration to help Miyamoto in accelerating our development plans in Planet Darvis".

"From their reaction to the first invasion, I understand their ideology already. Since they are too weak to chase Miyamoto out, they instead want to learn more knowledge and beat us in a game of wits like the last time".

He smirked. "This time, it won't work".

"I believe sending you will not spook them yet; it is about just right".

He looked straight into his Captain's eyes. "Lee, you and Miyamoto have 3 to 5 years at maximum to build the perfect foundation for us in Planet Darvis".

"On the 5th year, the Cataclysm starts".

"Yes, General".

"Alexander will accompany you".

A few minutes later, another Spaceship configuration left the Giant Nak Fortress. Led by Captain Jackie Lee, a Heavy Cruiser, a Combat Carrier, a Logistics Ship, and a Mining Ship left the base of the Nak Navy to Planet Darvis.

About an hour after they left though, the long-ranged signal sensors that were installed all across this asteroid received a distant signal.

It was a distress signal with a familiar frequency.

Once the experts dissected it, they came to a conclusion. "The Unchartered has been stranded in enemy territory!"

Shock spread through the bunch of engineers and analysts.

"Which enemy?!"

This was General Aztog's reaction after he got the news.

"Enemies apart from those in Planet Darvis?!"

"How come? This Star System is supposed to be an isolated one!"

The head engineer explained to the General. "That is what we thought while coming here, but who knows, anything can happen in space".

"Perhaps, the same way we found it, another galactic force may have found the coordinates that lead here and they sent a fleet here like we did".

"From the clues that we have, this is the most likely conclusion".

"So we're about to fight a galactic force?"

"Great!" The General's nose flared in anger.

"How is the state of the Champion?"

"He's alive". The head engineer answered firmly. "His crew are mandated by law to protect him with their lives, if he's dead, they can't return back to Nak Space, the best they can do is either kill themselves or remain in exile".

"Releasing a distress signal means he is still alive".

"We need to send a rescue force after them".

"I know". General Aztog replied in a raised tone, he was incensed.

First, Champion Onana refused to help them and now, the f*cking Champion was dragging them back. He had no choice though, in Nak law, a Champion was above ordinary soldiers, they must help if a Champion was in danger.

They were mandated by law to do this.

General Aztog suddenly stood up. "Law, Yeoh, you're following me".

"Yen, in my absence, you're in charge of the base".

"Yes, General".

A few minutes later, 5 Spaceships left the Giant Nak Fortress. Led by the flagship Heavy Cruiser, the Golden Cicada itself, a Destroyer, 2 Combat Carriers, and the last Logistics Ship left the confines of the asteroid.

After a few more minutes to gather speed while recycling their FTL drives, all 5 Spaceships entered warp travel and disappeared.

The Unchartered was stranded in enemy space.

After it's hull was breached by the enemy Grade B Space Bug, the Unchartered lost the capability to safely enter warp travel.

Left with no other choice, the Unchartered had to enter the sphere of one of the bigger floating asteroids that were relics of the past ancient war.

Inside a makeshift mechanic workshop that was created just a day ago after crashing on this asteroid, in a protective suit, Onana carefully observed the Special Space Bug through the advanced sensors that were installed in the workshop.

"Such an intricate internal design".

"What a marvel of evolution".

"These fellows are the true winners of the war that devoured the Roronoa Star System, their crazy genes made them among the few survivors".

"Champion, more Space Bugs has been detected coming". The Captain of the Unchartered reported in a distressed tone.

Without turning his head, Onana replied.

"Like usual, defend".

"Yes, Champion". The Captain deflated and left.
