Chapter 68 - "Did They Bully You?"

Yu Huiyin looked at the woman completely stunned. What was up with her logic, it was so flawed and wrong. At the same time, how did she even have the imagination to come up with this idea, and then be so sure that it was correct?

It was true that Yu Huiyin had not been willing to admit that she was married to Xie Jingyu, but now she was regretting that she did not bring her marriage certificate, so that she could throw it in her face just to annoy her.

"Miss, I think you are quite delusional," Yu Huiyin wanted to make it in the entertainment industry, so she knew that she should not cause too much trouble at her first meeting with them, but she was quite annoyed by her monologue from before.

This woman was the shameless one, how dare she call her shameless! She had done nothing wrong!

Xie Jingyu also noticed that something was not right, and he hurried to Yu Huiyin's side, only to see her puzzled expression.

"Did they bully you?" He asked tenderly, and Yu Huiyin nodded her head, after which she shook it.

"Not really, but they considered me shameless for latching onto you when I am just a partner you have chosen to open a daughter company for you. Tell me, when did I plan on opening a daughter company for you? Also, why did I not know that I have latched onto you?"

Yu Huiyin answered Xie Jingyu honestly with what the woman had said, she was confused, and her expression also displayed some curiosity.

Xie Jingyu's expression darkened. He had just made her have a positive impression towards him. But now, now, this woman's words might cause her to be hostile towards him again.

Xie Jingyu looked cautiously at Yu Huiyin, his expression worried, making the others surprised.

Although the way in which the woman had phrased her words was wrong, no one present had wanted to stop her. They felt that there was reason in what she said, and even if there wasn't, they had tried to use this chance to check Yu Huiyin's importance to Xie Jingyu.

Xie Jingyu glanced at all the madams that were present, his eyes were cold like millennium-old ice, and the women shrunk their necks back. They dared not meet his eyes.

Many of the men who had asked their wives to get closer to Yu Huiyin noticed that something was wrong, and they hurried to their sides.

"My dear, don't worry about what these unknowing people say," Xie Jingyu said, as he reached out and wrapped his arms around Yu Huiyin's waist, dragging her into his embrace.

He looked at her with a pampering expression, his eyes filled with care and affection.

The expression made all the women feel bad. If they had stood up for Yu Huiyin now, would they have been able to gain a good relationship with Xie Jingyu?

The woman who had questioned Yu Huiyin was also shocked, her eyes widened in surprise, and her mouth opened and closed, unable to speak.

She did not know what to say. Everything she had just said, was now used to slap her in the face. From their behavior, it was not Yu Huiyin who was hanging onto Xie Jingyu, but Xie Jingyu, who wanted them to be close.

This stunned them all. Everyone knew that Xie Jingyu was not eager to be close to women. Still, now he was hugging a woman so familiarly by the waist, pressing her body against his, and it was done with such fluid actions that it seemed as if they had done it numerous times before.

Yu Huiyin was aware of the fact that they had indeed been close numerous times, every night for instance, but this was the first time they were so close in front of the public, and her face flushed red.

She looked so alluring that all the men instantly understood why Xie Jingyu treated this woman so differently. She was simply so attractive that any man would want to be with her. It was no wonder that she had managed to seduce the usually stoic Xie Jingyu.

The women all cursed in their minds. They felt that she was a fox spirit. Since they were unaware of the fact that she had saved Xie Jingyu's life, they thought that this woman had to have seduced Xie Jingyu, and arrived from the start with the purpose of attracting him.

Yu Huiyin felt quite unhappy. She had done nothing wrong. She had never tried to seduce him; it was never her fault that they had gotten married.

Xie Jingyu could also guess these people's thoughts; he was not pleased. What if their thoughts made Yu Huiyin aware that she was too close to him? He had worked hard to make Yu Huiyin open up to him, but now, perhaps, there was a chance she would withdraw again..

Yu Huiyin sighed. Right now, she did not have time to overthink. She especially did not have time to think about how the others looked at her. She was just embarrassed about Xie Jingyu holding her, and his arm, which was possessively wrapped around her waist, was hot like scalding iron.

She felt her body heat up from where he was touching her, small currents of electricity rushed through her body, and she trembled slightly in his embrace, her face was so red that it resembled the crimson sky.

Xie Jingyu was not looking at Yu Huiyin, his cold and ruthless eyes were on the people present, but he could feel her tremble in his arms. Her tremble made him excited, and his fingers could not help but teasingly caress her waist, causing the trembling to intensify.
