Chapter 69 - Sharp-Tongued Yu Huiyin

Suddenly, a thought appeared in Yu Huiyin's mind, and she was suddenly no longer embarrassed. Instead, she smirked and leaned against Xie Jingyu's embrace.

She took her hand and drew circles on Xie Jingyu's chest gently, and a smile, yet not a smile, adorned her face.

"Dearest, this woman was so rude," she said, complainingly like a little vixen, completely embodying the word seductress.

She looked at the woman who had spoken out first, and a flash of happiness flickered across her eyes. The woman looked like she had eaten a fly.

She then withdrew from Xie Jingyu's embrace. Fortunately, he was too stunned by her actions and words to hold onto her and to even say something, so it was easy for her to do that.

Then she confidently walked towards the woman who had talked down to her before and snorted as she looked down on her.

"Jingyu is my man," she said domineeringly and arrogantly. "He is mine, and even if you covet him, you will never get a chance. I am prettier than you, and Jingyu is head over heels in love with me. Don't try your best to become a little mistress, because even if you are willing, my dear is not."

Her words were overwhelming and domineering. She smiled slightly when she saw tears in the girl's eyes, and then she shook her head. "You are also a famous person," Yu Huiyin continued. "What would happen if I were to tell the journalists that you, such an important public figure, wish to become a mistress so much that you caused a scene at an important evening gathering? How will your parents react, what do you think?"

In fact, Yu Huiyin was unaware of the background of this woman, but any parent would be sad and ashamed if their daughter were to become a mistress.

Even more so, this woman's father, as he was a well-known figure of society.

The woman had come for wool but had to go back shorn. It was clear that she had wanted to insult Yu Huiyin, but Yu Huiyin was not an easy target.

The only reason her reaction was so slow was because of Xie Jingyu, who had caused her to be muddleheaded.

But things had changed. She was not sure what it was, but at that moment, something in her mind had changed. So what if they were intimate with one another in front of a crowd? So what if she was sleeping on top of him every night? They were married, it was completely right and proper for them to be together like this.

It was as if a significant burden had been removed from her shoulders, and she was suddenly feeling free and unrestrained.

Now things had changed. The one who was shocked and had a hard time coming over the flirting was Xie Jingyu. First, Yu Huiyin had leaned into his embrace out of her own free will. Then she had drawn circles on his chest with her finger, rousing a burning fire within him, and now she called him dearest, dear, and even claimed that he was hers.

Previously he had to pay double pay for Yu Huiyin to acknowledge their relationship, but now things were different. She had claimed him in front of everyone!

Such happiness made it hard for him to control himself, and he reached out, dragged Yu Huiyin back into his embrace, and wanted nothing more than to kiss her in front of everyone.

Fortunately, he still had some common sense, so all he did was to place a small kiss on her hair.

While Yu Huiyin did not see the gesture, she just felt a slight touch on her head. She did not know what he had done, but everyone else could see his actions, and they saw the happiness and the pride in his eyes as he looked at her.

Initially, he had thought that he needed to stand up for Yu Huiyin, but now things proved that she was not the kind of person who needed protection all the time.

She was not only able to fight well, but she was also sharp-tongued. None of the young ladies of the upper-class could stand against her vicious words.

And while it was ruthless, and many of the mature women frowned, no one dared to say anything.

Some women were accustomed to their husbands bringing in the money, while they spent it. As such, many of them also allowed their spouses to be unfaithful, as they knew that their lives were only good because of their husbands.

The only ones who were faithful were the ones who truly loved their wives or the ones who had a business marriage, a marriage in which they had gotten equal benefits, and knew what they would lose in the case of a divorce.

Yu Huiyin was like a queen as she stood by Xie Jingyu's side, her head held high, and her beauty unparalleled.

Even the usually dazzling Xie Jingyu was nearly invisible by her side, but he did not mind. He wanted her to shine with a brightness that was so magnificent that no one could overlook her.

The women who had, at first, wanted to see the drama appear were now feeling sheepish. They had the best chance to speak up for her, but none of them had done so.

Now they would appear superficial if they tried to curry favor with her. They all felt regretful, but nothing could change it. At the same time, many of them were feeling jealous when they saw how Xie Jingyu pampered her.

The young ones, because it was Xie Jingyu who did this, and the middle-aged ones, because they wanted their husbands to be as wholehearted and loving to them.
