'All these just for winning a minor trophy like this one, what will I get then if we win the league title or the conference league?'

<You'll have to get there and see for yourself but you should know that this works exactly the same way the reward for keeping a clean sheet is given to you>

'So the more contribution and impact I make to winning the trophy the better the rewards I get.' He said subconsciously.

<Exactly>

'I see, so I won't get huge rewards for doing nothing while my teammates take us to glory.'

<No, you won't>

'What if I get injured?'

<You will be rewarded according to your level of contribution before getting injured, whatever you may think you could have done if you weren't injured will be invalid to the system unless you do it>

The goalkeeper made his way out of the room to go ease himself before the team would start heading home and that was when he met Emilia.

Her hair was still black but he knew it was her because she was putting on a black suit while Emma was putting on a blue dress when he met her outside about forty minutes ago.

"Hey, Dave." She said before moving closer.

"Emilia, I was wondering where you were since this is your city and you're also a sports reporter now." The goalkeeper said. "And I see that color isn't off your hair yet."

"I was busy with a lot of things, but it's a good thing I ran into you here." She said,

"Why's that?"

"Double congratulations." She said.

"Double congratulations?" The goalkeeper said with a confused expression on his face.

"First for your victory which I can hear you guys are still celebrating and secondly for your soon-to-be-born child." She expressed.

"Oh, I should have known Emma was going to tell you about it."

"I'm so happy for you guys." She said with a bright smile on her face. "I have to go now, see you later."

"Okay, bye."

After all the celebration, the players were now making their way back to their city and stadium but even after all that celebration, a few of the players just couldn't stop talking about the match.

Dave and Mateo were sitting together as always and both of them were going through their phones.

There were a lot of write-ups about Unique FC coming up fine and their convincing win against Supreme United that Dave couldn't help but smile.

In the media group there had to be people who had negative things to say and those people were also present here but he didn't care.

'Minor trophies has now been differentiated from major trophies.' He said subconsciously after going through the information on his screen.

<You've gotten a minor trophy, that's a nice step towards achieving legendary status>

'Yeah. Five clean sheets after eighty-three matches with eighty-six goals conceded isn't very good for a goalkeeper aiming to become world-class.'

<Yeah, but you have a goal and five assists some world-class goalkeepers end their careers without being able to achieve that, and yet you are still very young>

'Yeah, I guess.'

It didn't take long before the players arrived at the stadium and after that, Norman filled them in on when they were going to be meeting for their training session before their first match of the season on Monday but before that, Friday was a day off for all of them.

They had spent quite a lot of time celebrating after the match, so Dave ended up getting home by 7:30 PM.

"What a day." He said before stepping down from his car.

'Emma must be home by now.'

He made his way to the door and opened it with his key before stepping into the house.

"Hey, babe, I'm home." He said but there was no response. "Emma."

'Maybe, she's not home yet.' He said subconsciously before he began to make his way upstairs. 'Why shouldn't she be home by now?'

He made his way straight to his room planning to give her a call but Just as he entered the room, he was shocked to find her on the bed fast asleep with the medal he gave her still on her neck.

<I think she's been home for a while>

'Yeah.' The goalkeeper replied before he slowly made his way toward her.

He sat down beside her and stared at her for a while before slowly taking the medal from her.

He got up from the bed and dropped the medal on top of the cupboard before making his way toward the door.

He didn't have the strength to do anything in the kitchen so he ordered something.

He didn't need to wake her as the smell of the food was enough to wake her up when he took the food up to her.

The couple ate together and after that went downstairs to watch a couple of shows together before finally going to bed.

The two talked about a couple of things together but Dave was the one talking the most and he didn't even know when she stopped listening and fell asleep.

"And then." He said before turning to her to realize that she was already fast asleep.

'And she's asleep.' He said subconsciously before a warm smile appeared on his face.

He made sure the blanket was covering her body properly before turning his gaze to the ceiling.

He stared at the ceiling for a while before turning his gaze back to her.

"In a couple of months now, we'll have a third member in the house."

<They could be twins>

'That's even better.'

<Yeah, with twice the work rate>

'It's still better.'

<Whatever you say, but don't you think it's quite odd that you haven't told your father that you're expecting a child?>

'I know, I forgot to tell him today because of the match and everything but I'll inform him tomorrow.'

<Okay>

There was a little moment of silence in the room before Catherine decided to bring up something.

<Now, that the season is about to start, don't you think it's time to resume your reflex training, you haven't mastered two seconds yet you know>

'I know.'

[ Dream control: activated ]

<Good>

It didn't take long before the goalkeeper fell asleep after that and just ten minutes into his sleep, he found himself in the endless white space with Catherine standing right in front of him.
