Chapter 246 House Interview (01)

The second ball was sent flying toward the left side of the goalpost with no form of elevation and because Dave was still getting up on his feet close to that side of the goalpost, he was only able to stretch his right leg toward it and luckily for him, that was all that was needed to keep the ball out.

The third ball was elevated pretty high toward the middle as the goalkeeper quickly got up from the and dived toward it, but he only managed to make slight contact with it before the ball fell into the goalpost.

"That was so close." He mumbled before getting up from the floor.

"Yeah, you're starting to get there, you can now make the first two balls and get up fast enough to pursue the third ball but not fast enough to save it," Catherine said. "You're getting somewhere, most goalkeepers wouldn't be able to make it to this point and I must say you're getting better at seconds faster than I expected."

"Really? Faster than the person before me?" The goalkeeper asked.

"Just slightly faster, it isn't that much of a big deal." She replied.

"Now, you're just trying to make me feel bad."

"It's time for you to head back now, we'll continue tonight."

After saying that, the pitch, the balls, the unidentified players, and the goalpost all began to disintegrate along with him and soon, he could feel his body on his bed again.

"So, you've decided to sleep a little bit longer today."

Emma's voice was the first thing he heard while his eyes were still closed and it was coming from above him.

He slowly opened his eyes to see that she was directly above him but she wasn't on top of him, she used the bed to support herself instead so that she wouldn't have to wake him up.

"Oh, you're awake?" She said with a bright smile on her face. "Good morning."

"Hey, good morning." The goalkeeper said. "What's up? What's got you smiling like that this morning?"

"Well, first, I don't have to go to work today." She said.

"Really?"

"Um…no, I think it's better to put it this way."

"Huh?"

"I'll be working from home today, that's a better way to put it." She said,

"And why is that?" He asked. "What will you be doing?"

"Why don't you take I guess, you know that I am a sports journalist so I think it will be pretty easy to guess what it is." She said.

"Umm….you'll be writing an article." He said.

"No." She said before shaking her head.

"Then what! Article writing is the only thing I can think of." The goalkeeper said.

"Really?" She said before rolling her eyes. "Let me give you a hint then. Why will a football journalist visit a football player?"

"Um…to interview him, or maybe she's his girlfriend or something like that." He replied.

"I didn't say the journalist had to be a female."

"You didn't specify any gender either." He said. "Wait, are you…?"

"Yeah, you got that right." She said before sitting up in front of him.

She didn't even wait for him to finish asking the question.

"Start getting ready, I'm going downstairs to do some cleaning." She said before she stepped down from the bed and began to make her way toward the door.

"Hey, wait, are you sure you should be doing that? I can take care of it." The goalkeeper said.

"You know I'm just three weeks pregnant." She said after turning her gaze to him. "It's not like I have a humongous baby bump now that will disable me from doing things properly, don't worry, I can handle myself."

"O…Kay." The goalkeeper said with his gaze on her.

"Good, now go get ready, I'm going downstairs, but first, I need to pay a visit to the bath…room.." She quickly covered her mouth with her hands before quickly making her way out of the room.

It had been about thirty seconds since she left, but the goalkeeper still had his gaze on the exit.

<Are you planning to keep your gaze there all day?>

'That is not possible even if I try to.' He replied before sitting up on the bed.

"So her work today is interviewing me, a house interview in her house, and she seems so excited about it." He smiled before getting up from the bed.

It took Emma about an hour plus to do her cleaning and also do something in the kitchen and right now, she was getting ready upstairs while Dave was already dressed up and waiting in the living room.

"I guess I didn't have anything to worry about after all." He said as he looked around the area.

While Emma was still getting ready, he went through his phone to find out what was going on around the world.

It took Emma about forty minutes to come down the staircase, she was putting on a black skirt to go with her white short-sleeved shirt with a little blue design on it, there was nothing special about the way she dressed but she looked okay.

"You look nice." The goalkeeper said after watching her make her way downstairs.

"Thanks." She said with a smile before she began to make her way to the dining area. "Matthew will soon be here with the cameras, light, and everything else, but we'll have breakfast together before we start."

"Okay," Dave said, and after saying that, three knocks suddenly came from the door.

"That must be him," Emma said before quickly making her way to the door.

She quickly opened the door to see that it was indeed Matthew who was standing there.

"Hey, you look nice," Matthew said with a smile on his face.

"Oh, Thank you. Did you bring everything?"

"Yeah, but I'm going to need help bringing them all in." He said.

"Hey, babe." She called after turning her gaze to Dave.

"Yeah." He replied.

"Do you mind giving us a hand here?" She asked.

"Okay." The goalkeeper said before getting up from the couch.

After getting everything inside the house, the three sat down to eat together and after that, it was time to begin the interview.

"So, is this going to be a live interview or..?" The goalkeeper asked before sitting down on the couch.

"It's going to be live," Emma said.

"Okay, but I still don't get why you didn't tell me about it last night."

"Uh…it was meant to be a surprise and it sure worked in surprising you." She said before she closed her mouth to apply lip balm to her lips. "Okay, everything's set."

She picked up the card where she wrote down some important things before making her way to the couch to sit beside Dave.

"Okay, and we are live in three, two, one," Matthew said before pushing the necessary button to start the live interview.

"Welcome everyone to this Month's segment of, in the player's house, I am Emma Richards your host and today we are in Dave Richards' home." She expressed herself fluently. "Yeah, Unique FC's number one and ball magnet, Dave Richards."

'Who would have thought that my first house live interview would be with her.' The goalkeeper thought with a smile on his face.
