Chapter 215: The Child In Her Womb

As time passed, her body started to change a little bit at a time. Rihannan watched over the new baby forming in her body again and felt both happiness and sadness at the same time. Would she really be able to leave this baby here and go to Chrichten?

She would be sad while thinking of that, but she would also be happy as she thought about the fact that she’s now having another baby when she thought she would never be able to have another one forever. She was glad that even if the child’s mother won’t be there for them, Igor, Basil and Madam Sessly would be there in stead for her and shower her with love.

On the other hand, Madam Sessly watched as Rihannan’s stomach grow slowly bigger and became more and more nervous every time. Although Rihannan had to officially announce of her pregnancy, the public still didn’t know about this fact. Madam Sessly was worried that at some point someone may make strange rumours about her body.

However, since the king and queen are both not willing to make this information public, she was not able to act ahead to make sure the rumours aren’t made. She could only hope that the relationship between them would heal as quick as possible and be joyous for their child.

“But what is it that you’re making? Is it the same thing as the one you made last time?”

Madam Sessly spoke to Rihannan as she stared at her holding a piece of knitting in her hand as she knitted. After becoming pregnant, Rihannan stepped away somewhat from the duties she was taking care of. Afterwards Rihannan usually used her free time working on stitchworks.

“I didn’t particularly want to make that. I wanted to make something else this time.”

Although what she began on after she completed the queen mother’s showl was definitely a man’s clothes, she had thrown that one away and started a different knitting.

If it was like before, Madam Sessly would have sneakily suggested her to work on the king’s clothes beforehand, but now she wasn’t able to anymore. The situation nor the mood was the right place to do. Madam Sessly pretended not to understand what it was as she changed the subject.

“Have you thought about the name of the baby that will be born?”

Rihannan quietly shook her head.

“The child’s father will name them anyways. I don’t care what it will be.”

Hearing her speak unexpectedly old response, Madam Sessly’s face grew serious.

“But my queen, they say that a person’s name determines their fate. If you take your time to figure out a name for it, then I’m sure it will be great for the child.”

Rihannan bit her lips to hide away the sudden deluge of emotions that flooded inside her mind. If a person’s name determines their fate, then Rihannan would be living a life being loved more than anyone else. Since Rihannan’s name itself meant ‘My love’ after all.

“… I’m sure he’ll make a suitable one for them.”

And then Rihannan kept knitting without saying much anymore. Seeing her react that way, Madam Sessly realized hera*sumptions may be wrong. She thought that if she started to show love and affection for the child, Rihannan would naturally have more affection to the father as well, but hera*sumption may be wrong.

Actually, the queen was cold-hearted not only to the king but to the queen mother as well. As a long time passed since the queen last replied to the queen mother’s letter, the queen mother kept sending letters over and over again in annoyance.

However, she didn’t even bother read the new ones that arrived to her. When Madam Sessly couldn’t take it anymore and told to have a look, the queen simply said that she will take care of her mails herself so she shouldn’t bother her about it. Madam Sessly felt that at this point Rihannan may kick out her as well, so she couldn’t say anything back.

“It looks like it will be your birthday soon, my queen.”

Madam Sessly spoke in an effort to change the subject. Hearing the unexpected change of topic, Rihannan stared at Madam Sessly before making a slightly embarrassed face.

“So you remembered?”

“Of course I did. It’s the first time we’re going to be having your birthday party after you becoming the queen after all.”

Madam Sessly made a gleeful laughter.

“Since there’s about a month left until the day, you must make preparation dilligently starting now. Did you want anything in particular?”

“I don’t mind, it can be whatever.”

“Hmph, I knew you’d say something like that, my queen. But I am planning to make it a very grand party. We can’t let the queen’s birthday party be beaten in scale by Countess Saphia’s party after all. So you won’t be able to stop me.”

Madam Sessly made a very determined face as if she will never back down, and Rihannan laughed.

“All right.”

“We’ll need to purchase goods that will be required for the banquet, how about making the merchants bring samples of the goods to you and let you choose which ones you like, my queen? Just like last time.”

“That sounds good. I just started needing some goods for preparation of winter as well.”

Rihannan already called for merchants to visit her several times over the period of preparing for the wedding ceremony. That method would be best aside from Rihannan going out and checking the goods herself.

“Then I’ll make sure that happens.”

“Thank you, madam.”

Madam Sessly left the queen’s palace in order to complete her work. She then found Basil peeping nearby.

“Grand Chamberlain, what are you doing th…”

“Ah, you surprised me!”

Genuinely surprised, Basil clutched his chest as he let out a long sigh of relief.
