Chapter 216: A Name

“The truth is, we’re currently on the search for the queen’s sister from another mother.”

Basil summarised the happenings that had occured so far to her. That it was the woman who tried to murder the queen in the hunting grounds, and that in the past she had already murdered two people. After receiving testimony from Count Clobis, there was an attempt to capture her but when he finished with saying she had escaped, Madam Sessly made an extremely surprised face.

“My goodness, so why didn’t you tell about that until now?”

“Our queen has a lot on her mind already, so I didn’t want to make her worried about this as well. She’s already pretty down in her mood these days, isn’t that right?”

“That’s right…”

In this period of time where there are many joyous news to be happy about, the queen’s mood was extremely low. The court physician even said that if her mood continues to be like this, it could have a negative effect on the child, expressing his concern. Her mood finally became somewhat better as she focused on her hobby of knitting.

“So please do not say anything about this to the queen. I’m sure that once that woman is captured, the king will tell her himself.”

“All right then. I promise no to tell her so don’t worry.”

Basil scratched his head as he spoke.

“I actually think that at this point it would be better for the queen to live in the palace that the queen mother is at rather than staying here until the whole incident is resolved. I may have done unnecessary things last time, actually…”

Even if they keep their mouths shut, it will be difficult to completely stop any rumours from circulating inside the queen mother’s palace. And once the Queen Mother finds out about the truth that the queen had become pregnant, she would put all her love and care into her, no doubt.

“I was actually also worried since the queen’s mood has been very low lately. Just like you said, grand chamberlain, a new environment may be better for her. How about you make that suggestion to his majesty?”

Hearing her, Basil’s face drained of color. His expression looked as if shocked by what she said.

“What are you saying? If I do, his majesty’s rage would be all over me. I do not wish to die yet, considering my young daughter!”

Madam Sessly giggled.

“Speaking of which, I’m sure your 2nd youngest is quite grown up now. You said she was a daughter, right?”

Basil’s two eyes right away shined like stars.

“Yes. They really are so wonderful and cute. Completely different to young boys. That’s why I think his majesty also wishes for a daughter as well…”

“His majesty wishes for a princess? Not a prince?”

“Well not exactly that, he did say that whether it’s a boy or a girl it didn’t matter, but to me it seems that he prefers to have a daughter. Seeing the name he already had chosen for the child as well.”

“What? He had already chosen a name for the child? Then why didn’t he tell her?”

“He can’t say it at all because of how scared he is of the queen. Though the name is actually quite unexpected.”

“What do you mea…”

Basil quietly whispered the name into Madam Sessly’s ear so that no one would be able to hear it. After hearing the name, Madam Sessly’s expression became filled with surprise.

***

In front of the entrance to the queen’s palace were merchants lining up with merchandise waiting for her, a sight that had been quitte a long time since it was last seen. It was the first time the queen had called for the merchants to come directly to the palace since the wedding ceremony in the past. Everyone waited patiently, hoping that they’ll have a chance to have their item be sold and be recognised as the royal merchandise. However, for that to happen, they must go through the queen’s particular discerning eye.
