Chapter 272 - § JEALOUS §

CHAPTER 018

Yanarym was stupefied, she was pretty sure that Guide-sama told her that he was with Tiana on the rooftop. How did Kraig appear here in front of me?

Guide-sama: "He ran."

That's a very helpful answer Guide-sama please note the sarcasm in my tone. Yanarym wanted to frown and rolled her eyes to tell Guide-sama how sarcastic she was. Of course, he did! He was running out of breath! What she meant was why!

Guide-sama: "He did run, he did not teleport. Insert sarcasm in my tone." Guide-sama cannot alter its voice nor its tone. Referring to what its tone was like, she could imagine.

Yanarym smiled at that, your jokes are getting funnier.

Guide-sama: "I'm not trying to be funny."

Anyway, she had recovered from the sudden appearance of Kraig because of Guide-sama's jeering. Why is he here?

Guide-sama: "I am not sure. When he saw you, he told Tiana to wait, and Tiana got angry. Then, he is here."

Saw me? She looked at Marcus. I see so that's what is happening. She grinned in her head. That's how Kraig sees the original? That was why it was so easy to seduce him yesterday. He already tagged her as his belonging, claiming her as if it was a natural occurrence—would not be too strange for him. What a scumbag. Yanarym inhaled deeply. He thinks he owns me.

Guessed that Kraig was one of those egotistical men who only cared if they were losing what they had. He was concerned because she was slipping away from him. Seeing the 'threat' in real life who would take away his possession, which was Marcus, had gotten his ego damaged.

Now that she thought of it. If the original 'managed' to realize how much of a bastard Lyndon and Kraig were. If she 'managed' to see how exquisite Marcus was. Could she have a peaceful life with him? Maybe not. Lyndon and Kraig would just drag her back, to turn her into someone she did not intend to become. These two will not let her have her peace.

Just look at it now, she was having a pleasant time with Marcus. He surprised her by fetching her from here, he even sent her to the academy earlier. She was a little amazed hearing that he was outside the gate of the academy—waiting for her. It was unexpected, of course, Marcus in the novel did not show up in the academy after all. Then, Kraig interrupted it like that? These moments were rare!

"What's wrong with you? Let go of me!" She blurted and pulled her arm off of Kraig's grasp.

"No, we have to talk about something about us!" Kraig aimed to emphasize the 'us' word so that the stranger could hear it. Yanarym gazed at him with confused eyes.

"Will you let go of me first? You're hurting my wrist." She asked politely, Kraig looked at her wrist and it turned beet red in an instance. He was guilty, he loosened his grip on her but wasn't willing to let her go completely.

Yanarym sighed. Leastwise, she still had to do her job. Marcus, forgive me, I have to choose Kraig. "Marcus, you can go home first, tell mother that I will be with a friend."

"Who's that friend?" Marcus asked without even throwing Kraig a glance.

"He… he is Kraig, he transferred here not long ago. He's my classmate on most of my subjects."

In all honesty, Yanarym foresaw that she would be stepping on Kraig's pride. At some point, she was aware of Kraig's hidden possessiveness towards her. She confirmed that during their sexual interaction. He had an intense attachment with the original, like how any person was attached to 'their' property. Though, Yanarym was not sure what kind of sentimental he had for the original. He killed her at the end, so that meant it was not love.

She knew all that, however, she wasn't expecting his violent reaction after seeing her with Marcus. She may have underestimated how intense that possessiveness he had, it was worse than she thought.

"Kraig, meet my uncle, Marcus."

"Uncle?" Kraig's mouth dropped as soon as he heard of his relation with Yanarym.

They are relatives! He got worked up for nothing. "I don't know that you have an uncle. You never told me!" He exclaimed, embarrassed by his outburst.

What was this? Why did he feel so ashamed and at the same time relieved? He was so happy that she had not found any replacement for his place in her heart. The unknown anxiety that crept on the pit of his stomach just disappeared.

Was he jealous? Of course, he was jealous. If that was not jealousy what else could there be? Then, that means that… he liked Yanarym, did he?

He looked at the stranger. So, he was her uncle. Marcus looked young, that was why he thought Marcus was his substitute but Marcus was not. Kraig bit his tongue to prevent himself from revealing a smile of satisfaction. Suddenly he had the urge to pull her and hug her tightly. What a good girl, Kraig thought and caressed the back of her palm through his thumb. I should reward you. An unpredictable idea came to his mind and the smile he was suppressing showed.

"Because you never asked me!" Her face crumbled to an ugly frown just by staring at his amicable smile.

Kraig did not have a say on that. He never asked, that was the truth. Because he was not intrigued by her, it felt like he did not have to know anything about her—that was in the past though—it seemed that the preceding future would not unravel the same way.

"So, he's your mother's brother?" He redirected his eyes to Marcus but he couldn't see any resemblance of their physical appearances.

"Mother registered him as her brother. We're not biologically related but you know, we're family—but, why are you even asking me about this matter in the middle of the street?" Yanarym asked with a mellow but gloomy tone.

They are not blood-related? Kraig lost his smile. Before he could respond to the first query, she issued a second statement urging them not to look into the situation further.

"Is this the important conversation you wanna talk about?" Kraig abruptly shook his head and tightened the grip on her hand.

"No, no–, us. About us, let's talk about us, Rym." He said, he sounded begging when he was intending to set the lead. But, It did not matter begging or whatever, they needed to talk.

Yanarym looked at Marcus and his warm eyes turned blazing cold, peering at her hand that was being held by Kraig. Yanarym tried to pull her wrist out of Kraig's grip but he was holding her with enough strength. She could not break free.

"Marcus, I will see you at home." She waved goodbye to Marcus, she was intimidated by him whenever he spilled his covetous atmosphere. "Bye!" She had to get away from him fast. How come he becomes a completely different person whenever his mood were shifting from romantic to envious? He had a jealousy issue.

She pulled Kraig away and Marcus didn't speak nor pursue them. So, Yanarym was somewhat allayed. When they were far enough from Marcus, she sighed. It was time to activate her acting skill. She shortly closed her eyes and turned to Kraig with a timid smile.

"Where are we going, Kraig?" Kraig raised his brows seeing her flustered utterance. There it was, her blushing cheeks and adorable eyes. 'His' flustered Yanarym whenever he was around. She looked very beautiful, he wondered how he never appreciated her back then. "Kraig?"

"You were the one leading the way, not me, why are you asking me where we are heading?" He asked fervently, forgetting about his worries regarding Marcus. She halted and veered at him.

"Because you were the one who wanted to talk about something!" She exclaimed and looked him straight in the eyes. Kraig bit his lips to peel off his smile. She looked serious and mad, even though it was cute, he did not want to insult her by smiling happily.

"Are you angry?" She pouted after he stated the question.

"I'm not! I promised you not to talk to you anymore but look at us now." She uttered that gradually became a whisper of frustration and bowed her head down. "I swear that I will never bother you anymore," she added.

That deal is not meant to be fulfilled anyway, Kraig said in the back of his mind. He stooped to peek at her face, she was discontented with their situation. Was she sad because he would be disappointed if she did not fulfill it? He held her chin and made her face him. He smiled at her charming sad eyes. He liked seeing her in agony.. Regarding that promise being broken, in the slightest, he was not disappointed, he was very pleased.
