Chapter 546 Are You Sure

By asking her to act more reserved, was Paul implying that she wasn't as demure as a lady was supposed to be?

Taken aback, Cindy let go of his hand.

She'd never thought that he would say something like that to her.

Paul stood still, not knowing what to do. The look on Cindy's face told him that he'd been too strict with her just now. He'd just been trying to persuade her to give up on him, but maybe in his anxiousness, he hadn't used the right words.

She was probably very upset now.

But he hardened his heart and didn't apologize. Cindy was only 19 years old. She was too young for him. She probably liked him just because of their accidental kiss that day and she mistook that moment as love. He'd gone through puberty too once upon a time, so he knew how crushes were.

He didn't want her to take an adolescent crush seriously and waste her time on him.

"Well, I think I should go now," he said simply before leaving. Cindy stared after him until he was out of sight.

She didn't understand why Paul was so unwilling to accept her. Why was she not good enough to be with him?

Although she was only 19 years old, she had grown into an attractive woman with plump hips and ample breasts, long soft black hair that had never been permed or dyed, and a small delicate face.

She knew she would be considered as a beautiful and sexy woman by most of people, but why didn't Paul like her? Was it because she'd joked that he was ugly the first time she'd met him? She was starting to regret her careless remarks now.

It could very well be the reason for his rejecting her. Men were creatures with high self-esteem. Even though she'd just been joking, he must have been very unhappy about it!

Meanwhile, Linda, who'd finally managed to shove her embarrassment away in order to have a peaceful breakfast, was walking to the dining room when she saw Cindy standing still in the yard, staring in the direction of the front gate.

Cindy looked very upset, which was unlike her usual self. Linda suddenly got worried about her little sister.

"Cindy, what are you looking at?" Linda gently called out.

When Cindy didn't reply, Linda got even more worried. "Cind

been so obsessed with Paul that the fact that she would be leaving in three or four months had completely slipped her mind. That was how little girls acted when they were in love.

"Linda, I never thought about that before," Cindy said blankly, rubbing her tears away. Linda still felt worried about her. After all, this was the first time she'd fallen for someone and she'd even had the guts to confess her love, but she'd been rejected immediately.

But Linda thought that if Cindy hadn't been rejected, she wouldn't have had the chance to reconsider her feelings for Paul. If she didn't love Paul as much as she thought and if they were really together, she would probably soon have gotten bored of being with someone as dull as Paul.

Still, although Paul was dull and quiet, he was still a great man, and Linda really did hope that he would get over Bun someday and find his own happiness.

"Exactly. So think about it. When you straighten things out in your mind, you can go talk to Paul."

Cindy nodded her head and replied," You're right, Linda. I'll think it through. I've to do my assignments anyway. And...thank you for everything."

Linda smiled gently in response and watched Cindy leave. Bun saw Cindy crying as she left, and she guessed that it was probably because of Paul, so she didn't want to probe. She knew that Cindy was infatuated with Paul, but Paul wasn't willing to accept her at all. Somehow, that made Bun feel guilty.
