Chapter 547 Stir up Trouble

Bun felt sorry for Paul. Even though she'd found her own happiness, Paul was still strung up on her. She wished that he could try and accept another woman so that he would find his own happiness, too.

So after walking into Linda's bedroom and handing Linda a bowl of congee, she immediately suggested,"My Lady, how about we think of a way to set Cindy and Paul up? I can see that Cindy is really in love with Paul."

Linda remained silent as she ate the congee.

Bun, who was confused by Linda's silence, began wondering if she had said something wrong. "My Lady? Why aren't you saying anything? Have I said something wrong?" she asked anxiously.

Smiling, Linda shook her head and said,"No, I was just thinking about your suggestion."

Linda seriously considered Bun's idea for a while, and then she shook her head, thinking better of it. "I don't think it's a good idea. We'd better leave this matter alone. Cindy is too young, and the age difference between Paul and her is too huge. Besides, love can't be forced. We shouldn't intervene in matters of love," Linda said.

"Okay, I understand. I just felt sorry for Cindy, My Lady. She looked so sad just now," Bun said. Guilt gripped her heart. She still felt like it was her fault that Paul hadn't accepted Cindy's feelings.

"It doesn't matter. Just let her cry for a while to release her emotions. She has to learn more about love and handle it herself. Besides, I don't think her feelings for Paul are deep yet," Linda said and paused for a moment. "More importantly, Cindy will be here for only four months. After that, she has to leave, and she won't be coming back for the next three years. Since she's just 19, it's likely that she'll fall in love with someone else in the future when she grows mature and knows what love really means. If Paul accepts her feelings now and she falls for another man later, imagine how hurt he would be!"

Linda thought that Cindy was still too young to know about responsibility and loyalty in a relationship. On the other hand, Paul was such an honest man that he would surely be faithful to her if they started dating.

The same couldn't be said for a girl of Cindy's age. If she ended up falling for someone else, Paul's heart would be broken again. Paul had already experienced tremendous heartbreak because of his unrequited love for Bun, so Linda was afraid that if he got his heart broken again, he would never want to be with any woman for the rest of his life.

So

andfather up from his coma. If he died during the surgery, Linda would feel like she was to blame. When she shared her reservations with Anna, Anna told her that the estimated success rate of the surgery was around 40%. Linda knew that it was a low percentage, so she went silent, considering it again and again.

Finally, she made up her mind to let the team of doctors perform the surgery on her grandfather. Although there was a slim chance that it would work, there was at least still a chance. She believed that her grandfather would also agree with her decision if he was there with her. He would really want to wake up and see his two great-grandchildren.

She knew that going ahead with the surgery meant that the Nalan clan's family members would try to take revenge on her, but she didn't care.

They would barely leave a scratch on her, but she would definitely strike back.

After a long silence, Anna asked uncertainly,"My Lady, don't you want Lord Nalan to have the surgery?"

Linda shook her head and said,"I've made up my mind. Please get ready to perform the surgery on him. I was just worried about all the consequences."

When Anna was about to reply, Charles entered the room.

Taking his coat off, he walked up to Linda, sat by her side and asked,"What are you worried about? Even if the operation is a failure, at least we'll know that we have tried our best. We won't regret anything."

His words warmed Linda's heart. He always knew the right thing to say.

"My Lady, are you worrying about that the Nalan clan's members will stir up trouble for you?" Anna asked hesitantly, guessing the source of Linda's worries.
