Chapter 785 - Don't Play Stupid!

Even though Oscar knew what Michael said wasn't true, the man was well aware that Michael knew Greta better than he knew his mother. How could that woman sell the shares she owned with her father at such a low price? Besides, how could Greta sell her shares in Petersson Communications?

If the woman really did sell the shares, it would look as if Greta wanted to destroy their family.

But one thing that still confuses Oscar is, why did Greta give Michael almost all of the stock she owns? Until now, even until his car was parked in front of his parents' gate, he still couldn't figure out what Greta was thinking when she did it.

Oscar didn't have a good relationship with Greta anymore. Not only that, sometimes he doesn't even think of the demonic woman as his mother.

He really thought he had enough of her but Greta would do anything to make their relationship go back to normal, just like before.

However, the good time didn't last long between them, and their relationship was getting more and more estranged as time went by. Why did Greta actually do something that could completely break their relationship?

Seeing Oscar never taking off his seat belt and his eyes still looking blank yet fiery made Dani rush out of the car. He rushed around and opened the car's door for the man.

"We've arrived, Mr. Oscar."

Oscar unbuckled his seatbelt, adjusted his work blazer, and got out of the car. The housekeeper who happened to be cleaning the house was surprised to see him who suddenly came without any notice. Usually, the man will call the landline to open the gate.

The woman leaned the broomstick against the wall near the door and then walked over to Oscar. She frowned and asked, "Mr Oscar, welcome home. Should I call Mr. Peter and Mrs. Greta for you?"

"No need," Oscar replied coldly. He stepped into the house, leaving the woman alone, "I'll go and meet them myself. You can continue what you're doing earlier."

Dani, who was walking after Oscar from behind, just nodded his head slightly and rushed to follow the man from behind. Thinking that Oscar needed some alone time with his parents, Dani decided to wait for them in the living room.

Oscar tried to find Greta in the kitchen first, but he didn't find her. He then headed to the back garden where the woman usually sat and read a fashion magazine. But the result was still the same, there was no sign of the woman's presence.

Finally, Oscar climbed the stairs and opened the door to Greta's room without knocking.

When he opened the door, he saw Greta sitting in front of the vanity mirror. The room was filled with old songs that Oscar didn't even recognize. In front of the dressing mirror, Greta was seen painting her nails bright red. The pungent smell immediately filled the man's chest cavity when he entered his parents' bedroom.

Greta was completely unaware of Oscar's presence, too busy not to get any stains of nail polish on her flesh.

Usually, Oscar would wrinkle his nose because the smell of the nail polish had always made him nauseous. But now, he ignored it all. He just wanted to find out the reason why Greta gave her stock to Michael for free.

Oscar, who still hadn't taken off his loafers, walked over to Greta with wide strides. The man's face was cold, and his footsteps stopped when he was standing directly behind the dressing table's chair.

Just as Greta was about to dry her fingers on her left hand in the dryer, she saw Oscar's reflection in the mirror. Luckily, the woman's heart was still strong!

If she were old and weak, she might have had a heart attack from seeing Oscar's reflection!

Before Greta could open her mouth and scold her son, Oscar preceded her, "Why?"

Without needing to clarify what he was asking, Greta already knew what Oscar was talking about. If her normal heart rate was around 60 to 100 beats every minute, Greta's heart rate was now over 150.

Greta knew that Oscar had found out about what she did.

But he preferred to play dumb and didn't understand the man's question. She had lied so many times that she was good at acting like she didn't know. With a slow motion of her hand, she closed the bottle of her nail polish and cast a confused look at Oscar.

"What do you mean why? I don't get it."

"Stop pretending you don't know. Why did you give almost all of your and Papa's shares to Uncle Michael?" Oscar asked bluntly, feeling reluctant to make small talk anymore.

By the time Greta gave up nearly all of her stake in Petersson Communications, she knew that one day Oscar would find out on his own. She also knew that Oscar would definitely come to see her and ask questions like this. But she didn't expect that the day after she handed over her shares to Michael, Oscar would have found out and asked her about it.

Greta hid all the guilt and fear in her heart carefully. She covered up all these feelings by defending herself, "Oscar, I did it all for your good!"

Hearing Greta's answer made Oscar laugh out loud, "For my good? Was giving almost all of your shares with Papa to my uncle a good thing for me? Is letting uncle take over the company for my own good? Are you crazy!?"

If Greta had managed to hide all her feelings neatly before, now they were all coming out at the same time. The woman's eyes widened in shock at Oscar's question, and the contempt that escaped her son's lips were directed at her.

"Oscar! You and Uncle Michael are also related by blood, you both have Petersson as your last name. What if I gave the shares to him? I did all that so that you and your uncle can work together and lead the Petersson Communication to the better good!"

Greta knew what she just said sounded stupid. Especially knowing that Michael was the leader of the biggest mafia abroad. Instead of the company getting bigger and stronger, it will actually fall into a deep abyss.

Besides, how could Greta let Oscar see herself panicking and find out the real reason why she was willing to hand over almost all of her stock to Michael?
