Chapter 786 - Just Slap Me

Not long after those words left Greta's lips, Oscar couldn't hold back his laughter. Now, everything Greta had ever done to him was playing with his head again. All the harsh words, along with her deeds that the woman had done to him, including the time she kidnapped William… All these incidents suddenly flooded his mind again.

Nobody knew how many times Greta had hurt his heart that the man felt numb now, sometimes unbelieving at how much of a cruel person his mother was.

Oscar lost count of how many times he felt like he was betrayed and fooled by his own mother.

While grinning and crossing his arms in front of his chest, Oscar asked, "Sometimes I think… Am I your real son or not?"

Hearing Oscar's question made Greta's heart feel like it stopped beating. "What do you mean by that question? Of course you are my son!"

"Oh, really? Then why do you always want and keep looking for ways to hurt me and take everything I have? You always tell me that I'm wrong and can't think straight. But why haven't you changed what you did to me until now?" Oscar's voice sounded truly poignant, and it was able to make anyone who heard it feel like their hearts shattered into pieces.

"If possible, I'd like to try to get into your heart and mind to find out the truth." Oscar continued slowly, his hands tightly clenched.

At a time like this, Greta felt small in front of Oscar's piercing eyes. She didn't even dare to lift her face and look into her son's eyes. Because she knew that if she lifted her face and saw Oscar, her son would know exactly what was on her mind.

Oscar tilted his head, "Are you really my mother?"

Hearing that sensitive question leave Oscar's lips made Greta even more furious. She was fed up with questions that she never expected would come out of Oscar's mouth.

Greta raised her hand and planned to slap Oscar on the cheek. But before her palm touched the man's right cheek, her wrist was caught in a firm grip.

Not long after, Oscar let go of Greta's wrist and let the woman do what she wanted to do.

"Just slap me." Oscar challenged quietly, "I'm not afraid of you. Just do what you've always wanted to do."

Greta choked on her own words, her hand lowered slowly. She looked at Oscar with a look of disbelief in her eyes. In her entire life, the woman had never thought that she would hear those words leave Oscar's lips.

"It seems that you're becoming more and more courageous, huh?" Greta finally said while stroking her wrist, "The older you get, the more courageous you are with me. Now that you've dared to say it to me, what will you do to me when I can't even leave my bed later when I'm on my deathbed, huh? You will put your boot on my face for sure!"

If Oscar had heard her words the other day, he would have been offended and thought his mother was crazy. But now that he was too wrapped in his anger, he didn't have the strength to reply to Greta's words. Oscar just kept quiet as he looked at Greta with a bored look.

Seeing Oscar silent all this time made Greta continue, "What do you need to do to make you believe what I say? You are my son. If not, how could you possibly get a Petersson Communication company? If you weren't my son, you wouldn't be the CEO of that company!"

"You say I'm crazy but look at you! You are the crazy one, not me! You have dared to go against my words, dared to judge me, dared to accuse me, and married a commoner without my consent! Don't you think you're crazy enough!?"

Hearing his wife getting dragged in their bickering made Oscar furious. "I'm talking about the company, don't drag Lisa's name into this!"

His voice sounded thunderous, like a sudden thunderclap in the middle of the rain. It was so loud that it took Greta by surprise, and at the same time made the veins in Oscar's neck stand out.

Even Dani, who was on the first floor and sitting on the sofa in the living room, heard Oscar's words clearly. He even canceled his intention to take a sip of hot tea made by the housekeeper and immediately stood up. The man knew that Oscar would come down and ask him to take him away after this.

In that second, Greta felt even more guilty and panicked. She knew that she should never bring Lisa's name into their personal problem. Dragging Lisa's name in front of her son is like waking up a sleeping tiger.

If Greta didn't want to make Oscar more emotional, she shouldn't have said anything about her son's little family that could make him enraged, like Lisa and William.

But Greta was so carried away by emotions that she couldn't control her words.

She looked down and regretted her actions at that moment. The woman thought that it was better for her to be silent than to continue talking and making matters worse in their midst.

For the next few moments, neither of them made a sound. All that could be heard in the room was Oscar's furious breathing and Greta's beating heart.

Oscar turned around, "I will go to Papa and talk to him."

Hearing that made Greta snap out of her reverie. She lifted her face and tried to block Oscar from coming out of the room.

Greta gave Michael the letter concerning Petersson Communication's stocks behind Peter's back. Of course he didn't know what his wife was doing. If Peter found out what she was doing, Greta could be kicked out of the family!

Greta knew that Peter would find out about her actions someday. But that doesn't mean she wants to let him know now! She still doesn't know what she can use to win Peter's heart!

Yesterday, when Greta handed everything over to Michael, she knew that Michael would become the CEO at Petersson Communications. But she also knew that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. It may take about 3 to 6 months for Michael to occupy the CEO position at the telecommunications company.

And during those 3 to 6 months, Greta still has time to have a good talk with Peter. Most likely, she would pretend to be a victim and say that Michael blackmailed her.

Otherwise, she will risk her future getting ruined.
