Chapter 137 - SECOND WEDDING

It was time for the ring bearer and flower girl to start the process. The little boy, whose name was Charlie, and the little girl, named Hailey, just stared awkwardly at Lucian and I before they walked down the aisle. When it was time, EZ and Bastian started to walk arm in arm down the aisle after them.

"I did not appreciate that." I growled at Lucian now that we were alone. "What the hell did you do that for?" I still couldn't believe that he had dragged me down the hallway all the way to this room.

"We needed to hurry; you heard Jazmine." He looked determined and not at all repentant.

"She did not say that we were running that far behind. That was totally unnecessary."

"I'm sorry, I just want to get this rolling. You saw what happened, Jacy. What were the odds that I would meet her right then and there?" The excitement and happiness in his eyes almost made it enough for me to forgive him. Almost!

"Still, new mate or not, you shouldn't treat one of your best friends like that. That was fucking rude as hell. And it's my wedding dammit!"

"Your second one. The one that mattered was yesterday." He laughed at me. "Now come on, give me your arm. It's time for us to walk."

He was right, the music had shifted, and I could see Jazmine gesturing at us to walk down the aisle.

Hahh! Fine." I gave him my arm, plastered on a fake smile and let him lead me down the aisle.

I was nervous as all fucking hell. There were too many people here. I couldn't do this. But Lucian wouldn't let me take my arm away from him and run away. That asshole. He held my arm firmly in place and didn't let me panic or cry or anything. He just tugged me along when I started to slow down and matched my pace when he thought I was going at just the right speed.

Before I knew it I was standing in front of Kyle again as Lucian handed me over. The same process followed today as it did yesterday. Kyle wrapped his arm around me, we repeated the words, exchanged the rings again, all of it. It was the same wedding with different people in different places.

This time instead of confetti they threw rice over us after we said 'I do' and walked back down the aisle. There were cheers, but not from everyone in the crowd. I could tell that some people in the pack still didn't accept me as one of them. This was going to be fun.

Following the ceremony we were moved over to the same room that we had the pack meeting in last time. The funny thing about this wedding was that it doubled as the pack meeting as well as our wedding.

Winston gave a speech and so did EZ, they were much the same as the ones from the day before, and I very nearly cried again with the words that EZ said about me. Following those speeches, Kyle took the microphone and spoke to the pack.

"Welcome packmates to my wedding. Now, most of you know that this is the second one of these. My mate and I had one yesterday with her friends and the people that she calls family, but most of them are human so we couldn't have just the one big wedding. I want to thank you all for coming. And I know this is also doubling as the pack meeting for this time so I will make this quick. Before we move on to any other business, I know that some of you are still doubting my mate. I would have thought that she proved herself worthy the last time we were here, and  she destroyed multiple opponents at once. Just know this, you all know that we have not only officially mated, but we have a cub on the way, as well as having been married. If any of you are stupid enough to challenge her or lay a finger on her, I swear to the Goddess and everything any of you hold dear that I will personally destroy you. I have heard your grumblings this evening and so have others. If any of you act upon those words, you will not leave this wedding alive."

I had not been expecting him to say those words. So, there really were people talking about how much they disapprove of me. And based on the way that he was looking at the different people in attendance, I am going to guess that the 'others' who heard them was none other than Bastian and his supersonic hearing.

Kyle also seemed like he was looking at specific people in the crowd, and I watched as more than one person got up and left the venue altogether. They must have known that Kyle knew who they were and didn't want to be punished in front of the pack. As I looked around, I saw that not a single one of the women I left alive after my fight were here, which was good. But did they skip it or were they banned? I decided to ask when Kyle sat back down.

"So, that was interesting. You know who each of those people are, I am guessing."

"Of course, and they will have to answer some questions later when Baxter talks to them." His voice was softer and calmer now that he was talking to me.

"Nice, and what about the skanktastic team that was here last time? I don't see any of them here." He raised a brow at my wording and nearly laughed.

"They've been dealt with. A couple of them were banned and a couple of them were killed because they wanted revenge for their friend. I wasn't kidding when I said I would handle the threats against you."

So, he had either killed them himself or had them killed. I didn't know which, and I didn't really care. What I did care about was the fact that I didn't have to deal with them ever again. I knew before I met Kyle how punishments were doled out in a pack. They got what they were expected to for that situation. If he had just let them off without any punishment, he could have been called a failure of an Alpha, and someone could have challenged him for his position. We're not humans, and we live by different rules; I knew that even if I had been living away from the pack life for a long time.

I still had to do all the same things now that I had done the night before. We ate the dinner for the reception, and it was just as good as the last time that we were here. I had to dance with Kyle just like last time, but this time there was no dance for me to have with Bechard.

The photo session lasted long as hell. Apparently Jazmine doesn't let anyone consider the photos done unless they're perfect. So we had to take them over and over and over again. My face was numb by the time that it was over.

I was resting in the chair at my table when the night was almost over, and EZ came up to me.

"Well, most of these Felines are nicer than I thought they would be." He had flopped into a chair and was talking excitedly. "Who would have thought? I figured they would all have been finicky and stuck up." He was trying to make jokes and break the exhaustion and tension.

"Yeah, I guess Kyle didn't invite the finicky ones today. Given what had happened last time and all."

"Are you OK, Jacy baby? You look like you're not doing too good." I could hear the worry in EZ's voice as he spoke to me.

"I'm just getting tired, that's all. It's been a busy two days, and last night I didn't exactly take it easy." I smiled at him. "By the way, Kyle ripped the dress."

"I knew he would. Did he offer compensation?" EZ laughed.

"I told him you wouldn't mind if I described him naked. He said to show you a picture for all he cares." We both laughed at that.

"That's tempting, but I have a feeling my own boys might not like that."

"Probably not." I grinned at him. "But the offer is there if you ever want it." I winked at him.

"Thanks. I'm more worried about you, though. I don't think that I have ever seen you this tired before." He was showing real concern for me now.

"Yeah well, I've never been pregnant before, nor have I had two weddings in a row. It's a lot to handle for such a short amount of time."

"I know, just hang in there, Jacy baby."

"I will, EZ. I will."
