Chapter 172 - ADOPTION

Name:THE CEO's LOVE Author:JoannaAngel05
From where he was, he saw Wang Chen open the door, looked around and when he saw no one he signalled for the other two.

They ran away.

Zhaolin tried to keep his eyes wide open. He came out of his hiding place, and went to go check out the basketball room.

As he opened the door, his head banged with pain. "Ah," he cried out then dropped to his knees and blacked out.

Zhaolin jumped up from the bed. He was sweating and magically it was raining. The heavens were crying their eyes out, it was pouring heavily.

Looking towards the window, he asked himself wasn't it supposed to be snowing?

He heard the thunder rumbling and for the first time since leaving school, he could withstand the sound. The anger of the heaven.

It always felt like the heaven was mad at him. Whenever it rumbled he got scared, and if he happened to be sleeping while it poured, he would be having nightmares.

Everyone was happy, it was a happy day. But why had the memory of it disappear all these years? He didn't remember anything about that day.

He had woken up in a hospital, he turned to the calendar and discovered he had been unconscious for two weeks.

Two weeks? How did that happen?

"Zhaolin?" He heard his mother's panicked voice. "Zhaolin, are you finally awake?"

He stirred and tried to sit up but his mother held him down. "Don't do that, you're not yet strong."

And he heard her call for the doctor. He blacked out again and the time he woke up, his parents, grandparents, best friends and Xiao Shiya were in the hospital room.

One person was missing... The door sprung open and his sister rushed in. Hugging him tightly and kissing his forehead and cheeks.

"My little Zhao, you are finally awake." Jiuwen sobbed. "I had thought you might abandon me. But thank you, thank you so much for hearing my pleas. I love you so much."

Someone rushed through the door again, it still wasn't her, it was Riuwen.

"I love you too," he hugged Jiuwen back. Yes, it was Jiuwen, but he was seeing Xueyan instead.

Everyone left after telling him how happy they were he was awake except Shiya. His mother had left too to go cook him porridge.

"I'll wipe you clean," Shiya offered.

"Thank you but I'm okay," he rejected her help.

"It will be fine."

It hadn't been fine, as days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months. Still he remained at the hospital because the doctors said his immune system was damaged beyond repair.

He didn't know how much, as everything was discussed with his parents instead of him.

He eventually got tired and wanted to go home, it didn't take him much pushing to get his wish done. He had only kept quiet because Xiangyang had told him his stomach was destroyed due to hard drugs.

Zhaolin never remembered taking any. He wondered how they found hard drugs in his system.

Jiuwen was busy chatting with him as he got changed into his clothes. "Do you know how much I cried? Coming to the hospital everyday and seeing you lay on the bed like a dead man? You needed oxygen to survive, it was so hard. Why did you take those drugs?"

She turned to him and he turned too. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you all."

She got up and came to stand by him. "You're finally better, that's why the doctor agreed to let you go home. Can you believe it's been five months since you woke up?"

"That long?"

"Yes, it doesn't matter though. Mother is cooking something delicious, let's go home so we can eat..."

"Where's she?" He was looking Jiuwen directly in the eyes.

"Who?" She let go of him and took two steps back. "Mother? She's home."

He grabbed her two hands. "Bai Xueyan. You know very well who I'm talking about. Where is she? Why did you never talk about her? Aren't you two friends?"

"Oh, Xue... Xueyan." She thought for a while. "They moved."

"Moved? To where?" His brows joined together in a crease. "To where? Answer me," he tried not to yell because it made him lose air and weakened him.

"Sit back down," she pushed him back on the bed. "I don't know, they just moved. We didn't hear from her again. She didn't even come to the graduation party."

"What?" He said after catching his breath. "She didn't graduate?"

"She wasn't able to graduate from Tianqing High..."

"What?"

"Why did you take so long to ask though?" He saw the veins on her head pop. "I thought you forgot her. Why did it take you this long?"

"I had Jingyao look into her, he just couldn't find her. He said she disappeared."

"Then don't look any further, I bet she did it for a reason. Just forget her,"

He stood up. "I'll look for her myself,"

"No," Jiuwen shook her head immediately. "Don't do that, what will you gain?"

"I need to know why she didn't graduate. She had written the exams with us. How is it that I got my certificate and she didn't get hers? Does it make sense to you? Because I find it suspicious."

"Zhaolin, I think it will do you good to travel and complete your treatment... That's all that matters."

"I'll go to the school." He saw her panick.

"The school closed down."

"What‽"

"Yes, so you see? It's of no use."

The school closed down? What does that even mean? "What are you even saying? How can the school close down?"

"The school suffered bankruptcy." She sighed. "It was all over the news."

Every student in Tianqing High had rich and wealthy parents. There was never a time when it was reported that a student couldn't pay up their fees so...

"I know what you are thinking but Mrs Yan had stolen her husband money and ran away with her lover."

Mrs Yan Fengtian was their proprietress. And the husband was none other than Mr Yan Bingqing the owner of Tianqing High. He founded the school with his name and his wife's...

"Do you mean what you are saying?" She could detect the doubt in his question.

"We were all shocked as well. She waited patiently for our graduation to strike."

He still had his doubts. He will find out himself. He didn't want to look like a fool with no information.

Zhaolin got home to rest. He had only received two weeks rest when his father announced that he will step down and make him the president in a family dinner.

Everyone else was shocked as he was.

Uncle Jingze had disagreed instantly and got the support of his wife, Aunt Jiayi and Songyan.

Everyone had the right to speak because they all had shares in the company so their opinions mattered too.

"That's a great idea." Xing Zhaohao had supported the idea, smiling broadly. "Zhaolin has recovered greatly and this will help him take his mind off some irrelevant things."

His grandmother had showed her support too.

It was the reason he received glares from those four people after he became the president.

Imagined being ruled by a child that was just nineteen years.

He got both the things he wanted and things he didn't ask for but the most important thing in his life had vanished. He would have certainly given everything up to have her but it seemed impossible.

When it was taking time to find her, no matter how much he tried, he asked his father for help.

His mother found out and tried her very best to talk him out of it.

Three months later, he still needed to study and find out everything about the company. He was home studying when the telephone rang, he went to get the phone but Jiuwen was faster.

She went to open the door and came back with a strange woman he didn't know from anywhere.

"Who is she?" Zhaolin asked after much pleading for her to sit on the couch and not on the floor.

"I have no idea," Jiuwen answered.

"Who are you?" He turned to the woman.

She explained herself, saying her name was Lucy. That she wanted to see his parents.

After he explained to her they weren't home she wanted to leave but Jiuwen stopped her.

"Why are you here though?" Jiuwen asked. "Zhao, I bet she's looking for mother and father for a reason. Why don't we find out?"

"I heard you are running a charity organization," Lucy started, when he gave her the opportunity to talk. "I want to give my son up for adoption."

The statement echoed in his head. "What‽" He was much stronger now. His health had also increased greatly. If not, he bet he might have gasped for air.

"I want to give my son up for adoption." She went down on her knees. "I can't take care of him, please help me." Her palm were joined together pleading as if her life depended on it.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-love_13372375705587405/adoption_51161582079632275 for visiting.

"Why did you get pregnant in the first place?" Zhaolin asked angrily.

Jiuwen tried to soothe him, so she explained that maybe the woman didn't know on time and when she found out she must have thought it was better to keep the child than abort him.
