Chapter 173 - BEAT HIM AT HIS OWN GAME

Name:THE CEO's LOVE Author:JoannaAngel05
Jiuwen tried to soothe him, so she explained that maybe the woman didn't know on time and when she found out she must have thought it was better to keep the child than abort him.

"What are you saying?" Zhaolin turned to her. "Have you been pregnant before?"

"Hahaha, no. I was just saying."

He hesitated for a while as thoughts filled his head. "I'll register him in..."

"Zhao why don't we adopt him?" Jiuwen asked excitedly. She had a big smile on her face. "If we adopt him I'll take good care of him. I'll dote on him, he won't miss his mother. What do you say?" Jiuwen tilted her head to the side.

"No." His answer which he thought had been firm and final changed after he met the little baby boy some days later.

Jiuwen had pushed the baby into his arms, he held the boy and wondered why he was so little.

Zhaolin got scared by thinking the baby boy will fall from his hands so he tried giving him back to Jiuwen but she put her hands behind her and started blabbering.

"Look, isn't he so cute?"

"He loves you."

"Oh my goodness, look at him smile at you." That had been a lie but he checked to see if it was true.

"Haha, he likes you Zhao."

"Zhao let's adopt him. Hmm? Do you want to let such a cutie go? No one will find out. Only our family."

He shook his head, opened his mouth to say something but she shushed him. "He's sleeping." She said in a tiny voice.

"He fell asleep in your arms, you must bring him so much peace."

Truly the little baby boy had fallen asleep.

"If you are so eager, why don't you adopt him?"

"Hahaha," Jiuwen didn't say anything else than laugh.

Lucy still remained on her knees with her head bowed like she was regretting her decision.

"Miss Lucy, you can keep him. I'll take care of you both. I'll send you money always, food and clothes. Just take care of him and give him motherly love."

"No, no." Lucy shook her head frantically. "You really don't know what it means for a single mother to live..."

"Then I'll send you two abroad." He had enough saving, whenever there was a new member in their family, his grandparents would start saving up for the child until they are of age to go to the bank and have an account. He had a lot in his account, he never checked because his father gave him enough too to keep him from worrying.

His grandparents wouldn't stop paying into the account until you're fifty. Even his father still received from them.

"No, please." The lady had tears in her eyes. "Please, just keep the baby."Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-love_13372375705587405/beat-him-at-his-own-game_51185536454423100 for visiting.

He then turned to Jiuwen. "Go lay him on the bed."

Jiuwen didn't move at first and he knew exactly what she was thinking. "Don't worry, we are keeping him. But I'll have to let mother and father know first."

"Woah!" Jiuwen looked the happiest as if one of her biggest wish was finally coming true. "I knew you would agree." She stretched out her hand to carry the little boy, but his tiny hand held onto Zhaolin's shirt tightly and he refused to let go.

"He doesn't want to let go." She giggled.

"You find it funny?"

Two weeks later, his parents had agreed. He had adopted the little boy. His grandpa had held a small family party for his welcoming.

And he had chosen the name, everyone loved him. His uncle Jingze had asked for him to hold the baby.

Zhihao went around in everybody's arm with a face that said he couldn't hold it in anymore. He soon started crying and Zhaolin had to console him.

Everyone in the room watched the chemistry between the two and knew it would be best for Zhaolin to really keep him.

Zhihao was attached to him, just like he was attached to him too. He had adopted the baby in the name of his mother being the baby's mom too, but with the attachment now, he didn't think he could be far from the little boy for more than fifteen minutes.

Now they were watching the sun set, in a rocking chair.

"Zhi, do you see how lovely the sun is?"

Zhihao was just three weeks, but he loved talking to him and sometimes Zhihao would make some grumbling noise like he understood.

"That's how lovely you are my boy." His kissed his head.

Zhihao was one of the best thing that happened to him.

It still amazed him he was able to train a child, his child. He was thankful to the almighty, thankful to Zhihao, thankful to Jiuwen and also thankful to Lucy...

Now going down to this memory lane, he remembered that after paying Lucy she had disappeared and never returned.

Zhaolin looked outside the dark sky, it had stopped raining heavily and was now drizzling.

He saw his reflection in the glass window, his eyes were drooped and expressionless. His emotions overwhelmed him.

Zhaolin went towards the door, opened it and went to check up on Zhihao.

The other door next to his opened as well.

"Linlin?" Shiya called.

He didn't turn, he didn't have the strength to talk. He would just check up on his son, and try to get back to sleep.

"Linlin?" Shiya called again when he took a step. "I want us to talk."

"When the day breaks,"

"But..."

He turned to her and watched her swallow. "It can wait till daybreak. Whatever you have to say." He made a quick swirl and disappeared into Zhihao's room.

Jingze had a smile on his face as he came out of his car and saw Zhaolin coming out of his.

"You don't look anything like I had heard." He smirked. "I heard, Qiangshen took you home after you fainted in front of your lover's house."

Zhaolin's face contorted.

"You don't remember?" Jingze's face and posture screamed gentleman. But Zhaolin knew better. "Ah, I guess you must have been drunk. Did you also forget that Xiangyang had tried stabilizing you and only left in the middle of the night?"

Stabilizing? Zhaolin really didn't know but he didn't want to show it. Xing Jingze was good at taunting him.

"Ah ha, what is the name of that little girl?" He took out his right hand from his pocket and pointed it at Zhaolin. "You hid her information well, but I ȧssure you that it won't take long. I'll get my hands on her and..."

"You will do no such thing!" Zhaolin warned.

"Hahaha, tsk tsk tsk." Jingze shook his head. "I knew it. There's something with you and that child... I had been thinking where that face was from. She looks just like Jiayi in her younger years."

Zhaolin's brows furrowed. "What nonsense."

"Did you think we wouldn't find out?" Jingze got closer and said in a low tone. "You might bring down the price of our vehicles... What were you thinking being so careless? Father won't take it lightly." He strode towards the elevator and disappeared into it with his secretary.

Zhaolin's mind was jumbled. Nothing Jingze said right now made sense to him. Nothing.

Qingran looks just like Jiayi in her younger years? How?

The only problem he would face was his lack of proper information of Xueyan... He didn't know what his uncle was planning, but he wouldn't want it to come to pass. So he would act faster and be ahead of him in his own game.

"Meet me in my office now." He said to someone over his phone, entered the second elevator that took him straight to the last floor and went straight to his office.

He put the passcode of his safe to unlock it and took out the file he thought he would never have to look at.

"Brother Zhao," he heard Riuwen call.

"I need you to get me all Bai Xueyan's information." He had wanted to wait. So she could tell him herself, but he just couldn't sit still and let his uncle dig everything up. "Everything from when she was born, to when she entered Tianqing High, when she left too and what happened all these past years. Gather everything and destroy the remainants so no one will be able to find out anything about her."

Zhaolin seemed collected but he was actually scared. Scared of whatever that she might have gone through. Something told him it hadn't been memorable.

Riuwen remained rooted at the same spot, like he was frozen.

"Riu?"

"Yeah?" He answered absentmindedly.

"Did you hear what I just said?"

"Riuwen?" Zhaolin called out to him again when he didn't answer.

"Yes?" Riuwen blinked twice. "I will do just as you said." With that statement he turned to leave. "Why though?" Why was Zhaolin suddenly eager? He had said he'd wait...

"I don't know what Jingze is planning but I have to beat him at his own game of chess."
