Chapter 171 - DUMB

Once she made sure they were inside, Yuxi slammed the door shut.

"Are you stupid‽" As the question fell out of her mouth, tears accompanied it. "Why is it that you can't see?"

"Yuxi," Xueyan grabbed her sister's hand. "What is wrong with you? What has gotten into you?"

Yuxi blinked back tears, "Really?" Her voice was hoarse. "Why are you so dumb?"

"I'm not dumb." Xueyan said. "Just tell me why you are doing this. Please," Xueyan pleaded.

Mr and Mrs Bai sleep had been disturbed due to the news so they came out to see their girls arguing.

"Yuxi, how can you call your elder sister dumb?" Their father was the first to speak up.

"Why are you two fighting? Just why?" Their mother stood in between them. "Yuxi what is wrong with you too?"

"Father, mother, did you know that Xueyan has a lover?" Yuxi asked the two. She was trying so much not to burst open due to heartache. She had almost cried out there. She would have cried like a baby had it not been she was determined to put Zhaolin in his place.

The parents shared a surprising look. "What is wrong if she is?" Mrs Bai asked. "Don't you want her to be happy at least? Doesn't she deserve to be?"

The questions brought tears to their eyes and Xueyan quickly broke down and dropped to the couch.

"Don't you want your sister to be happy‽" Mr Bai feared that his wife might suffer a heart attack so he went to calm her down.

"Honey, you shouldn't be shouting. It's not good for your health."

"Before asking me all those irrelevant questions, you should first of all ask who she's dating." Yuxi scoffed. "You don't know right?"

"I know," Mrs Bai said. "It is the same person that got Qingran an ipad right? He also sends Qingran gifts from time to time. He must love Xueyan enough to do all that." Mrs Bai stated.

Yuxi scoffed again. "You haven't met him right?"

"What is so wrong with him? Why are you making your sister cry?" Mr Bai asked. "What is so wrong with him."

"Everything," Yuxi said with a beating heart. "Everything!!!"

"What?" Xueyan was now standing.

Yuxi saw her sister's jaw clench and unclenched. "Why are you sounding so offended?" They had been offended. "What? You're not going to get angry at me because of him, right?" If Xueyan does, she promised not to ever forgive her.

Yuxi felt all her strength and courage depart from her. Like that day, that day...

"What is going on in that head of yours?" Xueyan tried not to yell. "Why are you acting this way? You had been in support of me and..."

"I thought you will realize what I was playing at. It seems you are really dumb." Yuxi chuckled and turned to her parents. "Do you even know his name?"

When her parents didn't reply she answered. "Xing Zhaolin, is Xueyan's new lover."

Xueyan watched her mother's mouth fall open and moved back. Her father expression changed terribly.

Xueyan looked back at Yuxi and saw her smirk. "Xueyan is the only one that doesn't seem to know." Yuxi looked her directly in the eyes. "Until he is clean enough, you're not allowed to be with him!"

Yuxi went into Shihuan's room and slammed it shut.

Meanwhile outside, Zhaolin remained rooted at that same spot.

He still didn't understand why Yuxi had looked at him with so much hate. He was trying to think of how he might have offended her.

He just couldn't place his hand on it. Those black iris, looked like they wanted to swallow him, so he would disappear forever.

Why though? Just why?

He looked down at the flowers that Yuxi had trampled on. He picked one of the broken flowers up and stared at it for a while.

Why was she so angry?

He raised his eyes to their apartment, they seemed to be arguing. He watched their silhouette. He wanted to be sure no one would hit Xueyan.

He was able to tell who was whom by their shape.

"We should leave, now." He heard a familiar voice say.

Zhaolin turned to swirled to his back to see Qiangshen.

"What was that?"

"I said we should... Oh! That?" Qiangshen pointed at the ruined bouquets. "I think she overworked. It must have been due to stress. You know women tens to overreact when they are stressed." Qiangshen got closer and whispered in his cousin's ear. "She's also on her period...haha." He tried to lighten the dampened mood.

"You know that's not it, you should know more."

"Hahaha, that's all I know." Qiangshen shook his head. "I really mean it."

Zhaolin took out his phone and placed a call over to Riuwen, but the phone was switched off.

"Why did you turn your phone off?" Zhaolin thought he would go crazy by the various thoughts running through his head. "I might go crazy if you don't help me right now." Zhaolin's sight blurred and he fell to the ground.

Qiangshen helped him to his own car, and made Xueyan's driver drive back Zhaolin's car.

"What is your business with that?" 

His vision cleared and now he could clearly see. Andy Huang, Wang Chen and Ying Shang.

They were smiling so brightly, he looked them up and down and saw the can of alcohol they held.

"That isn't allowed in the school." Zhaolin said.

Andy Huang strode towards him. "Just shut your mouth if you don't want to drink."

"Hahaha," Wang Chen laughed out loudly. "What is wrong Young Master? Are you drunk?"

"Drunk?" Zhaolin was surprised. "I'm not."

"It's just one can, and you can't see me? You're just a Young Master in mouth. You can't even go have fun. You mommy's boy." Ying Shang poked his index finger at Zhaolin's ċhėst. "A mommy's boy."

"I dare you to repeat it." Zhaolin tried to widen his eyes but he just couldn't. He was also staggering around.

The three laughed at him.

"You can't do anything without Jingyao and Xiangyang... Don't try anything stupid, because I've been looking for an opportunity to beat you up." Andy gritted his teeth. He didn't like Zhaolin for so many reasons. A Young Master, the school girls crush and worst part, Shiya was head over heels for him. The girl he liked with all his heart.

Zhaolin swung his hand balled into fist and hit Andy on his guts. "You son of a bastard."

Zhaolin sudden movement surprised the other sane two.

"Zhaolin!" Andy eyes became bloodshot.

Zhaolin was the first grandchild of the Xing's family, they won't let go easily.

He didn't know when a tear dropped from his eyes.

"Andy, are you crying?" His friends asked.

Wang Chen took one out of the nylon bag and gave to him.

"Forgive me for speaking out of the way young master. So to apologise, I'm offering you this."

Zhaolin looked down at the beer, it was just beer but why did he seem so weak by just one can?

"Thank you, enjoy." Zhaolin said, put his hand in his pockets and turned to leave.

Andy blocked him. "It seems like you're still mad at me young master. If not you will accept this."

Zhaolin accepted it.

"Drink it," Andy pleaded. "Please."

Zhaolin took a gulp and that was when Andy let him go.

"I think he drank too much," Ying Shang watched Zhaolin stagger away and said.

"It doesn't matter, now let the fun begin." Andy smirked. "Where's she?"

"In the basket ball room." Wang Chen answered.

"Let's go, Shiya will be mad if we don't do what she asked us to." And they followed the other way.

Zhaolin rested on the wall, listening to them. 

What will those three fools be planning? Shiya? That means Xiao Shiya. He frowned. That annoying girl. 

He stood up straight and followed after them.

He wanted to know what they were up to. He was able to stagger all the way to the basket ball room, he put his ear on the door and heard some hushed voices.

Zhaolin tried opening the door but it was locked from inside. He looked around and saw a flower vase, he picked it up and threw it to the door.

It scattered in many pieces and he went to hide. From where he was, he saw Wang Chen open the door, looked around and when he saw no one he signalled for the other two.
