Luke knew that he wasn't a leader. He was too chaotic and self-centered for that. He already admitted that countless times, but someone who only cares for his family and close friends who help him can't be considered to be a good person… therefore, he couldn't become a leader unless he is planning world domination, but that would be stupid.

"You two are coming with me for a short trip to the nearby cities," Luke said.

"Us? Not Amanda and Celia?" Julia asked.

"Don't assume so many things about them, Mom…" Luke said and then sighed. "Rather than them, I would trust you the most."

"What about me?" Mark asked.

"You are in the top 20," Luke replied.

"Wow… that hurts," Mark forced a laugh. "It doesn't seem that you are going to check those cities anytime soon…"

"It would be meaningless to leave only to return after a few weeks and see that this place has been destroyed," Luke explained. "Thus, I will make you two reach at least level eighty before departing."

"I see… putting how unpopular you are aside, you should take Amanda and Celia with you," Mark said. "Maybe you can't trust or think of using them, but they certainly can help the people here."

"I will think about it," Luke replied.

Finding crystals without using a good surveillance system wasn't something easy to do. However, Luke knew what the monsters were after and what their leaders wanted as well, so finding them wasn't impossible… he just had to look for big cities.

After asking them to jump on Artiuno's back, Luke took his parents and traveled through Florida and the nearby states for the day. As expected, most of the hordes of zombies had fallen by the hands of monsters, but since they were dumb, there were plenty of small hordes in cities that they didn't approach. Luke didn't stop at those places unless Rina sensed a valuable item or skill book among them. He just threw grenades enhanced by Weapon Augmentation and obliterated them.

For Julia, who knew very little about military affairs, the power of her son was insane. Still, for Mark, it was almost scary… a single grenade in his hands was more powerful and useful than a tactical missile. He could certainly knock down a large building by throwing it at the right spot.

Regardless, since their level was in their fifties, they would level up at least once every time a grenade was used. That kept happening until they reached level seventy.

"It is quite something that we can fly this fast on a bird…" Mark said when he realized the fact that they were crossing the borders of Florida. "It is also quite surprising to even resist the friction of the wind in this situation."

Putting that aside, it was time for Artiuno to take a break. One hour of break would be enough. So, Luke decided to check his loot and the results of that morning's work. He got three skill books, one was Stinger, and the other was Dash, so he leveled up some useful skills and even gained ten status points. The last one was an area of effect skill that didn't seem that powerful.

Water Tornado

Summons a tornado of water that pulls the targets toward its center, causing damage equal to your INT plus twenty percent per level.

Cost: 10 MP per level.

The cost didn't seem that high, but it was a problem since it was a cost to keep the tornado going for a single second. Not to mention, the tornado was only twenty meters tall, so it wouldn't work against most flying enemies. However, considering its pull strength and the fact that Shalia could use her ice magic to make the water freeze, it was a pretty good spell to control large groups of enemies. It doesn't work with Spark Ball, though. Testing it with Lightning would be too flashy… Luke didn't want to show a possible eyewitness what he could do.

Aside from that, Luke managed to get fifty thousand coins, and he also leveled up two times. It seemed quite a little, considering the number of enemies he had defeated. In any case, he was close to the level one hundred. Still, he couldn't help but wonder when he would have the power to make the enemies of Earth fear the idea of attacking the planet. That seemed like the best way to solve the problem.

Explosive Bow

It Grants you the power to use Fire Arrow level three. When already possessing the skill, its cost will decrease by half.

Durability: 20/20

Steel Armor

A sturdy armor that grants a lot of protection against physical attacks. It is a bit heavy.

END + 15, STR + 05

Durability: 40/40

Metallic Round Shield

A resilient shield that can increase the piercing power of arrows and bolts.

END + 10

Durability: 30/30

Those were the things that Luke got for himself. The other useful ones were given to his parents. While the other equipment could help the other survivors, they were focusing on speed, so they couldn't carry that many things. In any case, once Artiuno was done resting, they resumed their trip, and at the end of the day, they had reached their goal. Luke had only leveled up a single time more, but his parents had reached level eighty. However, upon returning to their base, they saw a crystal five hundred meters away from the walls and some creatures marching toward it… hundreds of them. Luke recognized them, but their numbers and levels were quite shocking. Even more so if they belong to the same overlord.
