The starving wolves were back, and they were a lot stronger, and they also had new skills and attacking means. Luke thought that they should hurry up and help, but then he realized that his parents were strangely quiet about all that… Considering that they were quite like Rina when it came to helping people, that was weird.

"Let's wait and see how things will proceed," Mark said. "Those creatures aren't that strong, right?"

"Yeah… how did you guess that?" Luke asked while frowning.

"It is just a feeling I have… Regardless, if the people there don't manage to help a single threat, then the camp won't work in the end," Mark said.

"Amanda and Celia are there," Julia said. "The others had also gotten a bit strong over the last week… we need to trust them."

"The only problem will be Luthi and Sylah," Luke said.

"Luthi is smart enough to understand the situation," Rina said.

"If he opens his mouth, I will make sure to break his teeth before he finishes his first sentence," Shalia said.

Luke gave Artiuno the order to fly high in the sky in order for them not to be noticed, but they still stayed above the crystal to act if things got out of hand. The whole project might end in a failure, but they didn't have to let everyone die to confirm that.

Luke saw the starving wolves attacking the walls with their Wind Arrows, but those were resisting quite a bit. It seemed that the others had found the river, but they weren't planning to use that part for some reason. Either they had a fear of Water like cats, or they didn't want to risk crossing the terrain due to the fish-like monsters. Nevertheless, the first Earth Walls began to crumble, but those above them fell and took their place. The survivors above used the Earth Wall to restore their numbers… some of them focused only on that… until a new group of survivors appeared. Amanda, Celia, and Daniele were among them. Even though it was unreasonable to fly on the back of a newborn Koriri, Daniele did that. Both of them made Ice Arrows rain down on the Starving Wolves, and quickly several of them were killed.

Amanda, Celia, and other survivors joined the fight and repelled the first wave of enemies from above the wall. However, before they could search for the crystal, the second wave came. At that moment, Luke began to wonder… was it a coincidence that a crystal appeared there. They weren't in a big city; there was no horde of enemies nearby, so…

"... I believe the owners of the crystals on the other side can't see things here, they just set up the links between worlds in places rich in mana," Rina explained when Luke looked at her. "There are many things that we don't know about them, but… this explanation seems plausible."

While they didn't have many survivors there, Luke realized that they would leave a mark on the environment with their existences. Not to mention, but Luke was probably to be blamed for that… he had the idea of creating the walls, and they had been created with mana, so maybe from an outsider, the walls created an environment with many presences filled with mana.

"I suppose I can't complain… this is also my fault," Luke said.

"I am sorry, I should have imagined that such a thing could happen," Rina said.

"It is fine, we can't exactly predict things that we never experienced," Luke said.

In any case, despite the fact that they didn't find many enemies to kill, the starving wolves sure were insisting on the attack. Maybe their master, instead of experience and gold coins for their minions, wanted to make sure that all humans wouldn't be able to hide anywhere…

"Can you tell if the crystal I destroyed, the first one, is connected to the same place as this one?" Luke asked.

"Yes, I can…. the same being that summoned those , summoned the group here," Rina replied. "However, I can't teleport us to their location, not even with my full power. Not yet, at least."

It was only natural that Rina and Shalia would have limits. In fact, Luke was already surprised that they could use some sort of Teleportation… even if it was extremely limited. In any case, the starving wolves never had the chance to pass the walls. Most of the survivors worked on repairing those faster than they could be destroyed, and the girls led the offensive that eventually eliminated all the wolves and destroyed the crystal. Once that was done, Luke told Artiuno to approach in order to make her a little.

"It seems you guys have been busy," Luke said after they jumped from Artiuno's back.

"Ah, master! You should have seen it!" Danielle said. "I decimated the monsters while flying! It was awesome!"

"Good for you," Luke said and then realized that the newborn Koriri had already grown half a meter.

"Haha, we can do this much even without Luke's help," Celia said while laughing in a boastful manner.

"Be careful not to fall from your high horse," Luke said.

Luke checked their levels and confirmed that they were almost at level seventy. They didn't need his help to grind and become strong by themselves. In a day or two, Danielle's pet will probably be big enough to carry three people, so they will have the chance to go and hunt monsters in the area. Those people would be enough to protect the base.

"Well, it seems things will be fine around here, so I'd better get going," Luke said.

"If you are going to somewhere fun, I want to go too," Danielle said.

"You are the last person I would bring with that attitude," Luke said. "Regardless I am going alone to save time since Artiuno will be faster this way."

Mark and Julia nodded. After seeing what he could do, they knew that Luke wouldn't need that much help, and the others didn't need his help to get stronger either. So, it was fine.. Besides, Luke wasn't going truly alone.
