Chapter 45 - 4 - Trovitopolis Stopover

Name:Pokemon Pearl Author:Marc0702
The next morning, the ship had arrived at Trovitopolis, Mandarin Island South, Orange Archipelago at 10:07 a.m. And as the cruise ferry docked to the port, the anchor was dropped, and the embarking bridges are opened. The captain announced through the PA system, "Attention to all the people and vehicles in this destination, embark immediately, while those are not, you may stay here or explore the beautiful urban scenery of Trovitopolis, but make sure to return before 4:10 p.m., because it is our departing time. This is Captain Marco. Enjoy the Ocean World Sea Lines. Thank you and Goodbye." Upon hearing this announcement, Rico asked his father in excited positivity, "Hey, Daddy, can we go to the city for a while?" Thinking about this, Lucas softly answered him, "Sure, okay."

"Oh, yes!" Rico responded with great excitement while clenching his fist in excitement.

Half an hour later, the family are now walking through Trovitopolis while waiting for their cruise ship to depart at afternoon.

"Man, this is exciting," Rico commented in enthusiasm.

"Riolu, lu,(Yeah, right,)" Riolu responded in enthusiasm.

"Magneton, Mag, Mag,(Yeah, master, yes,)" Magneton responded in happiness.

"Yeah, I know that," Lucas replied to them while looking down to a city map, "Let's go to...uh...ah, the Government Offices. It says that their building is Roman-style;" he then pointed his finger towards a direction.

At the city government, which now had a park complete with a 3-level water fountain, the family are walking around on the concrete pavement whilst looks at structures and taking pictures using their smartphones. Pidgeys and Starlys are flying to tree branches and away. People and children are looking, walking around, and playing around. Sitting on the fountain, Rico commented, "Wow, this is so cool, dad."

"Nice, isn't?" Lucas happily replied.

"Yes, it is," Rico brightly replied while getting a coin from his pants pocket; he then make a wish and threw his coin to the fountain. Riolu then watched as the coin sank to the bottom.

"Ri-olu, lu?(What will happen to it?)" Riolu responded in curiosity.

"Well, some people say it will be come true," Rico answered it softly in positivity.

"Ri, Ri-olu?(Are you sure?)" Riolu responded in unsure. In response, Rico nodded to say yes.

"Ri, Ri-olu!(That's great!)" Riolu happily responded. Rico then smiled in happiness.

Later, they resumed their walking around the city with their Pokémon. Moments later they found an abandoned Cyndaquil, one of the Johto starters. It seems to be sad, dirty, skinny, and starving. Upon seeing its shabby appearance, they felt pity and sad for it.

"Oh, no, that Pokémon is being abandoned," Rico commented in pity.

"Ri-olu, (So sad,)" Riolu responded in pity.

"Whoever done this is a bad trainer," Lucas added.

"Sylveon, eon," Sylveon responded in semi-pity. Then suddenly, a young boy, had black hair, fair skin, and dressed in a plain green t-shirt, light brown shorts, and yellow and black shoes, ran to them, picked up the Cyndaquil softly and mildly, and said to tell family, "Hey, thanks for finding this Pokémon. My arrogant sister just abandoned it a week ago." This revelation shocks the family and their Pokémon, with Rico commenting, "What? That's not how to be a proper Pokémon trainer. She's not nice at all."

"Riolu!(That's right!)" Riolu added in seriousness. Rico then pulled out his Pokédex and pointed it towards Cyndaquil; his Pokédex then responded, "Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokémon. A Fire-type. It has a timid nature. If it is startled, the firing flames on its back burn more vigorously."

"Oh, that's cool but warm," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this. The Cyndaquil then responded softly in sadness and pity. Meanwhile, Blue Ninja and his two Pokémon are observing them from above on the roof of a building.

At 12:44 p.m., as the sun crosses through the middle of the day, the family, the boy, and their Pokémon are eating at a restaurant in the downtown part of the city. And as their Pokémon are eating their special food in food bowls, Rico asked the boy, "So, kid, why your sister abandoned that Pokémon?"

"Because she wanted a strong Pokémon in the beginning," the boy, named Kaleb, replied in pity, "But she considered that Cyndaquil a weak one."

"But that's worse than being bad," Rico retorted sharply in emphasis, "Of course, Pokémon are weak in the beginning. They needed training and love from trainers you know."

"But she just shortcut it," Kaleb replied, "And now she decided to catch another one without a starter to use;" he then resumed eating. Facepalms in his forehead, Rico replied, "That's not it."

"Yeah," Kaleb replied, "But-"; his sentence was cut off when his older, arrogant sister, arrived from skateboarding, and in skating equipment, came and greeted him in style, "Hello there, little brother." Her name was Jenner.

"Oh, hi there, big sis," Kaleb nervously greeted her back.

"Why are you so nervous to her?" Rico asked in confusion.

"Because she always is so mean to me," Kaleb replied, "She would push me or smack me with her skateboard."

"Oh, I would never do that," Jenner contradicted her brother's witnessing in style and sarcasm. In response to this, Rico produced stress mark, stand up, smack his left hand onto the table hard, and retorted in anger, "You're such a psycho! Why would you do that to him and your Pokémon?!"

"Woah, Titus, calm down," Rosario softly told Rico. After his stress mark was subsided, Rico sighed briefly and replied, "Sorry, mom, it's... it's just my anger issues." Producing a stress mark, Jenner responded with anger, "Why you little...? That's it! I challenge you to a battle?" Clenching his fist in determination, Rico retorted in response, "And I'll accept it!"

Later, after lunch, Rico and Jenner had a Pokémon battle at the city park, and their Pokémon are Piplup and Forretress, a Bug and Steel-type Pokémon. Upon seeing a new Pokémon, Rico asked in stunning, "Who's that Pokémon?"

"That's a Forretress," Kaleb explained in yelling, "That is her new Pokémon, And the final evolved form of Pineco."

"Pineco?" Rico responded; he then pointed his Pokédex towards Forretress; his Pokédex then responded, "Forretress, the Bagworm Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Pineco. A Bug and Steel-type. It remains immovably rooted to its tree. It scatters pieces of its hard shell to drive its enemies away."

"Woah, that's stopping cool," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this.

"Cool, isn't?" Jenner replied in style, "Shall we begin?" Putting his Pokédex away, Rico responded with determination, "Yes, I'm ready!" Piplup then responded in serious determination. Lucas, Rosario, and their Pokémon are watching them from benches. They are pretty worried about Rico's battling style and the Pokémon he uses.

"Well, his Pokémon is small," Lucas commented, "I think it would not survive that gigantic Pokémon's attacks."

"Yeah right," Rosario replied. Magneton and Sylveon then responded in worry.

And so, as the sun sets behind a tall building, the battle began, with Lucas ringing the bell one twice and other twice as well.

"Alright, Forretress," Jenner commanded Forretress in a cool style, "Use Bug Bite!" Forretress then used Bug Bite, charging at Piplup, and bites it, striking it effectively.

"Quickly, use Bubblebeam!" Rico quickly commanded Piplup in seriousness. Snapping out from being attacked, Piplup used Bubblebeam, opening its beak and released a stream of blue bubbles, striking Forretress very, but not, effective. Forretress collapsed on the ground a bit, and shakes the water off out of its hard body. Piplup then landed back to the ground in coolness.

"Wow, it's so strong," Kaleb commented in stunning.

"Ugh, how?" Jenner retorted sharply in anger, "Oh, yeah, Forretress use Mirror Shot!" Forretress then used Mirror Shot, shooting and loosing a flash of energy from its polished body, striking Piplup effectively and backed it almost a feet away. Piplup then collapsed to the ground in pain.

"Oh, no, Piplup, don't give up," Rico told Piplup in surprise and worry.

"Heh, how's that for you, kid?" Jenner retorted in style. Forretress then responded in seriousness.

"Oh, no, Titus, don't give up," Rosario thought in worry. This follows a minute of silence, with Blue Ninja and his two Pokémon watching from a roof of a building. After it, Piplup got up, and stand up in fierce and determination; it then suddenly learned Hydro Pump, blasting water at high power, striking Forretress in great power. This shocks Jenner and amazes Rico.

"Is that...?" he commented in stunning, "Hydro Pump?" Standing up in amazement, Lucas responded, "It is! It's a powerful Water-type move!"

"Oh yeah!" Rico retorted in excitement and greatness, "Nice job, Piplup!" Piplup then responded in happiness. This was a great time when Piplup learned such a high-level move. But this enrages Jenner a lot, like a hot head in a hot tub.

"Why you little kid...?!"Jenner retorted in anger, "Forretress, use Solar Beam!" Forretress then used Solar Beam, absorbing sunlight, and then fire it as a beam towards Piplup, striking it very effectively, producing a smoke that clouds everything. And as the smoke clears, Piplup had fainted in exhaustion.

"Piplup is unable to battle," Kaleb, as the referee, announced, "Forretress wins." Lucas then rang his bell, one once and another thrice.

"Heh, are you saying?" Jenner retorted in style.

"What? Even with Hydro Pump, and I lost?" Rico commented in shock. He then sighed softly in defeat, called back Piplup calmly, and said, "Well Piplup, you done great. Have some rest;" he then put it in his Pokébelt and switched it to another one, this time Litleo's.

"This time, I won't give up," he seriously thought while holding the said Poke Ball; he then called his Litleo out, and it stepped into battle in seriousness.

"What? A Fire-type?" Jenner commented in shock. Forretress then responded in shock, opening its eyes big in surprise.

"Wow, a Litleo?" Kaleb commented in amazement.

"Yes, it's a Fire-type," Lucas answered him brightly.

"Alright, Litleo, use Flamethrower!" Rico commanded Litleo in coolness. Litleo then used Flamethrower, opening its mouth and scorched an intense blast of fire, striking Forretress very effectively and with great power. Forretress then collapsed to the ground in extreme pain.

"Oh, no, Forretress," Jenner replied in surprise.

"Heh, how's that flaming you?" Rico commented to her in style with a pun.

"Oh, yeah, that's right, sis," Kaleb supported Rico's joke. This rages Jenner a lot, and she bursted into anger.

"Why you little...?" she retorted sharply in anger, "Forretress, use Mirror Shot!" And when Forretress is about to use Mirror Shot, Litleo immediately used Flamethrower, opening its mouth and scorched an intense blast of fire, striking Forretress very effectively, so effective in fact Forretress fainted in exhaustion, shocking Jenner very bad, real bad.

"Forretress is unable to battle," Kaleb announced, "Litleo wins." Lucas then rang his bell one thrice and another once, and Rosario and their Pokémon rejoiced. Rico then rejoiced in victory, and Litleo jumped to him in embrace.

"Why? How I...lost against you?" Jenner retorted sharply in anger.

"I think you should reconsider about being a responsible trainer to your Pokémon," Rico seriously answered her as he put Litleo down softly. Their enrages Jenner once more

"I'll get you next time," she retorted in anger. She then called her Forretress back to its Poke Ball, and ran away while holding it. Once she is gone, Rico seriously thought, "This is a consequence of being a bad trainer."

Later, they went to Pokémon Center to heal up their Pokémon. And as they waited, Rosario commented to Rico, "Wow, you had a great battle back there."

"Thanks," Rico happily replied while writing an event log in his blue, A5, hardcover journal notebook.

"Yeah, you had great potential," Lucas replied.

"Man, kid , you're so awesome!" Kaleb commented in enthusiasm. Cyndaquil then responded in happiness.

"Thanks," Rico retorted in happiness. This follows a short silence, and then, after it, Kaleb asked Rico, "Hey, can I keep that Pokémon?" Thinking about it, Rico responded, "Sure, since it's your mean sister's Pokémon, you may keep it for yourself." This response caused Kaleb to smiled and hugged Cyndaquil in embrace. Rico the gave him one of his spare Poke Balls. Accepting it, Kaleb called Cyndaquil back, and it successfully intact in its Poke Ball, much to Kaleb's happiness. The rest became happy about this.

Later, the Cruz family and their Pokémon, had managed to board the ship before 4:10 p.m., said goodbye to Kaleb, who was at the harbor waving his hand goodbye. They kept doing it as the ship departed the harbor and sun sets over the horizon. It was one of their greatest times ever as a family.
