Chapter 44 - 3 - Moving Out and Adventure

Name:Pokemon Pearl Author:Marc0702
The next morning, the family and their Pokémon packed up, loaded most of their furniture and appliances in their hired moving van, and went off to move to Kanto. Though it's not possible to do so because Kanto was a separated region hundreds of kilometers away, but they had one method of travel: the cruise ferry and a stopover. In the same time, the family planned to convert their old family home into a vacation house for vacations and visits, leaving the remainder of their bulky belongings covered in white, cotton sheets.

By 10:08 a.m., they arrived at Danejo Pier, 10 kilometers west of Kawayan City, and their first leg of their trip. They then got tickets and boarded a cruise ship, but a special one which carries vehicles. Later, the anchor was hoisted up and the ship began to depart for Trovitopolis, Mandarin Island South, Orange Archipelago, their first and only stopover.

3 hours into the voyage, Rico looked at the ocean view in the ship's viewing deck with his Pokémon. He gazed at it in amazement as the cool breeze blows against them. Various Water-type Pokémon are swimming in the far sides of the ship. People presented in the viewing deck are amazed and stunned by their swimming capabilities, and started pulling out their smartphones, Pokédexes, and other hand-held gadgets to take pictures and obtain information about them. Rico, meanwhile, was taking a few pictures of them using his smartphone, and then pulled out his Pokédex and point it towards them; the Pokédex then responded, "Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Magikarp. A Water and Flying-type. Once it begins to rampage, a Gyarados would appear and leave blazing ruins in its wake."

"Woah, that's so much destructive," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this.

"Lit, Lit-leo," Litleo responded in semi-plain. It and Rico then turned back to looking at the Water-type Pokémon swimming.

By 4:22 p.m., Rico and his Pokémon returned to their cabin and lay down on their bed in exhaustion, thinking, "Wow, the outside was beautiful, but I hoped Kanto is much nicer if I arrive there."

Later at dinner time, at the ship's dining hall, as the passengers picked their food and drinks, Rico walked to his parents' table carrying a tray of food, which consists of mashed potatoes, Yellow Curry, freshly steamed veggies and rice, and a glass of iced tea. Their Pokémon are eating at a special area exclusively for Pokémon. And as Rico settled down on his seat, Lucas asked him about the ship, "So, Titus, how's the ship and the view?"

"It's great," Rico retorted in enthusiasm, "I saw some Water-type Pokémon like Gyarados;" he then grabbed a scoop of mashed potatoes and eat it.

"Well," Rosario brightly responded, "We're gonna arrive in Trovitopolis before lunch time tomorrow for a stop over, and we can explore the city while we wait for the ship."

"Really?" Rico asked in stunning, "Is that allowed?" Rosario then nodded to say yes.

"Oh yeah!" Rico retorted in excitement.

By 8:56 p.m., Rico was walking in the ship's battle arena, watching the two Pokémon trainers battling each other with their Pokémon. Rico then stopped and clinged onto the metal railings in watching them.

"Woah, in that level it's intense," he thought in stunning. After some time, the trainer's Pinsir had lost against another trainer's Glaceon, an Ice-type form of Eevee. The winner has been announced, and the loser calls his Pokémon back without any hesitation. That trainer then walked towards the winner and gave him a fist bump, which he accepted, as if they were friends. Once his friend left the stadium, that trainer hold his microphone, turn to the audience around, and call them for a battle. People in the audience then stood silent, while others shook their heads to say no. After much searching, the trainer chose Rico, asking him to come to the stadium and battle him.

"What?" Rico responded in puzzling while directing to himself, "Me?"

"Yes, you," the trainer brightly answered him in enthusiasm, "A one-on-one battle with me. What do you say, kid?" Rico was at first hesitant, but when the people around him insisted to do so, Rico sighed in defeat, stand up, and walked to the battle stadium, facing the trainer.

"Alright, let's do this!" Rico said in excitement to the trainer. He called his Litleo, and it stepped into battle.

"Woah, that's a strong and fierce Kalos Pokémon," the trainer commented in coolness and excitement, "But my Glaceon is strong as well!" His Glaceon then responded in seriousness.

"Who's that Pokémon?" Rico seriously thought. He pointed his Pokédex towards Glaceon; his Pokédex then responded, "Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Eevee. An Ice-type. By controlling its body heat, it can freeze the atmosphere around it to make a diamond-dust flurry."

"Wow, so icy and cool," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this. Then to the trainer in coolness, "Okay, let's do this!" And then, the battle began, with the trainer had his first move, "Alright, Glaceon, use Quick Attack!" His Glaceon then used Quick Attack charging, towards Litleo in a fast pace.

"Litleo, quickly, use Tackle!" Rico commanded Litleo in serious coolness. Litleo then used Tackle, charging towards Glaceon. Both Pokémon clashed to each other.

"Then use Stomp!" the trainer commanded Glaceon in seriousness. His Glaceon then used Stomp, jumping into the air and stomped on Litleo, striking it with great power.

"Quickly, counter it with Flamethrower!" Rico quickly commanded Litleo in seriousness. Snapping out from Glaceon's attack, Litleo then used Flamethrower, opening its mouth and scorched an intense blast of fire, striking Glaceon very effectively.

"What? Flamethrower?" the trainer commented in shock, "But how? That's a high-level move."

"Oh, yeah," Rico retorted in style and response, "That was okay for a little Fire-Type Pokémon. It's quite common for these Pokémon to learn it very early." Litleo landed back to the ground and responded in serious coolness. The audience watched in amazement; others uttered, "Woah, that kid is cook." While others are like, "That Pokémon is strong and powerful."

"Oh, yeah," the trainer seriously commanded Glaceon, "Use Ice Beam!"

"Oh, no," Rico retorted sharply, " Litleo, watch out!" Glaceon then used Ice Beam, striking Litleo with an icy beam of energy, freezing it severely.

"Oh, no," Rico responded in semi-worry, "You're frozen!"

"Ha! Your Pokémon is frozen," the trainer retorted in style, "What are you going to do, huh?" His Glaceon then responded in serious-ness.

"Oh, no, Litleo, please defrost!" Rico thought in alert and worry. The battle was paused for a full 2 minutes, and then, Litleo managed to defrost itself using its body heat, melting all the ice that prevents it from battling. This shocks the trainer and his Glaceon and Rico was amazed by this ability.

"Wow, Litleo, you...you did it!" Rico said to Litleo, "You had defrosted yourself."

"Litleo, Lit!" Litleo responded in happiness.

"Well, that Pokémon is strong," the trainer retorted in commenting, "But not strong against my Pokémon!" Then to his Glaceon in serious coolness, "Glaceon, use Stomp!" His Glaceon then used Stomp, jumping into the air.

"Quickly, Litleo, use Flamethrower!" Rico quickly commanded Litleo in seriousness. Litleo then used Flamethrower, opening its mouth and scorched an intense blast of fire, striking Glaceon very effectively and eventually fell to the ground. Smoke covered the scene.

"Glaceon, no!" the trainer responded.

"Did I got it?" Rico thought in alert watching.

As the smoke clears, Glaceon had fainted in exhaustion and defeat, stunning the audience.

"Glaceon is unable to battle," the referee announced, "Litleo wins, and the match goes to Rico Titus of Kawayan City."

"Oh yeah!!!" Rico rejoiced in victory. Litleo then jumped to him, and hugged him in embrace. Calling his Glaceon mildly, the trainer commented, "Well, I won a lot of battles today, but this is my 8th time to lose against a trainer like you today. That was a fun battle. I appreciated it;" he then offered Rico a fist bump. Stunned by his kindness and being fair, Rico accepted it greatly. Litleo was happy to see this.

Later, at the ship's Pokémon Center, while he was waiting for his Pokémon to heal up, Rico was looking down in his Pokédex, pressing an arrow buŧŧon downwards. He had a lot of entries ever since he became a Pokémon trainer.

"Wow, I have a lot of entries," he thought, "I wish I could catch most of them. Someday."
