Chapter 37 - 37 - Aid and Rescue

Later, Rico was climbing Mount Soratas and hid behind a boulder. Red Eye was watching his brilliant plan working as Arceus went rampaging in the air. His grunts operated the machine, controlling its levers and buŧŧons.

"I will prove that I'm strong," Rico seriously thought while watching them. He then come out of his hiding place and shouted at Red Eye, "Hey, you evil maniac!" In response, Red Eye turned around to see him, and got stunned with a bit anger.

"What the...? You again?" he retorted in mild anger.

"You pervert! Why would you do that?!" Rico responded in anger and in demanding.

"Heh, you're too late," Red Eye retorted in style. Arceus, now brainwashed, then used Hyperbeam at one part of Kawayan City, destroying its lively buildings and places. And as Red Eye laughed like an evil psycho and maniac, Rico became sad while remembering his childhood memories in that city. And then, he rose to anger, retorting, "Why you little...?" He then called his Riolu and Litleo and commanded them, "Riolu, use Focus Blast, and Litleo, use Flamethrower!" Riolu and Litleo then came out of their Poke Balls, and used Focus Blast and Flamethrower, destroying one of the weapon's iron pillars. Red Eye was then snapped from his laughing side, and then got angry, retorting, "Ugh! How could you got strong?! Oh yeah, take this, you meddling kid!" He then called his Cranidos out, and it used Zen Headbutt on Litleo, intercepting the Flamethrower. Red Eye's female grunt then responded by calling her Geodude and Vanillish, and both Pokémon used Rollout and Ice Beam, intercepting the Focus Blast. All these moves then got a chemical reaction-like effect and then exploded in midair; Cranidos, Geodude, and Vanillish then safely landed back to the ground, facing Rico and his team of Pokémon. The battle was serious, sharping serious like an iron dagger.

"Oh, no, I'm two against three," Rico seriously thought while looking at his opponent and his team in fierce, "I have to call my third Pokémon." He then called out his Piplup, and it stepped into battle, like automatically.

"Are you ready, Piplup?" Rico asked his Piplup in serious determination. Piplup then nodded to say yes.

"Ha! Your Pokémon are so small and puny cute," Red Eye commented in sarcasm and in style, "Not matched against my mighty Pokémon!" But before either of two would command a move, a Wing Attack and a Flamethrower bursted into the scene, striking Red Eye's team effectively. This shocks Red Eye and his team, while Rico was stunned and amazed by this sudden aid and rescue. Then, as the smoke and dust clears off, Detective Trevor and Ben stood on a peak in fierce and seriousness, along with their Pokémon, Pyroar and Staraptor. Everyone who sees them are shocked and amazed, with Rico thinking, "Wow, Detective Trevor and Ben?"

"Pyroar, use Flamethrower!" Trevor commanded Pyroar in serious coolness.

"Staraptor, use Aerial Ace!" Ben commanded Staraptor in serious coolness. Their Pokémon then used Flamethrower and Aerial Ace together, striking Vanillish and Cranidos with great power. After this attack, Trevor said to Rico, "Hey, Rico, you might need some help." Rico then turned around and nodded in agreement and in determination. He then turned back to Red Eye and faced him like a man.

"Ugh! Why you people kept sabotaging my plans?!" Red Eye yelled in anger, "Cranidos, use Zen Headbutt!!" His Cranidos then used Zen Headbutt, focusing its willpower to its head.

"Quickly, Riolu, use Focus Blast!" Rico quickly commanded Riolu. Riolu then used Focus Blast, heightening its mental focus and unleashes its power, striking Cranidos very effectively before it unleashes its power. Cranidos then fainted in exhaustion, angering Red Eye more.

"Pyroar, again, use Flamethrower!" Trevor commanded Pyroar in serious coolness. His Pyroar then used Flamethrower, opening its mouth and scorched an intense blast of fire, striking Vanillish, finishing it off effectively. Vanillish then fainted in exhaustion, shocking the female grunt. In response, Red Eye got more angered, and then fired his gauntlet towards them. Rico and his team then dodged his attacks narrowly, but Pyroar got struck by one of them, weakening it to the ground. Alerted by this, Trevor called it back to its Poke Ball, and told Rico to go down the mountain to meet his father, who was waiting in the highway along with some police officers. Rico then nodded in obedience, called back all his Pokémon, and headed down the mountain to meet his father there.

At the highway, upon seeing Rico running towards them, Lucas rushed to his son and hugged him in embrace and worry.

"Rico, are you okay?" he asked his son in worry, "Are you hurt? What did they do to you?"

"Daddy, I'm fine," Rico calmly and mildly answered him, "But Arceus was destroying Kawayan City!" Shocked, Lucas snapped out and replied, "What? Okay, let's go to the city mall's basement where your mother and your friends are there." But they suddenly heard Ben's scream coming from the mountains. That scream was a desperate.

"You hear that?" Rico responded in alert, "That's... That's Ben!" He needs help. I have to help them!"

"No!" Lucas responded in emphasis of warning, "It's too dangerous." After a minute, Rico, decided to help his allies, let go of Lucas' hand, turned around, and ran back to the mountain. In alert by this, Lucas and the police tried to stop him by yelling, but Rico kept running in rescue. This was a sacrifice of energy, effort, and will.
