Chapter 36 - 36 - Don't Give Up!

Later, Rico woke up, only to be alerted that he was chained to a metal chair and was attached with electrodes connecting to an electricity-generating machine operated by Red Eye. In response, Rico struggled to get out, only to get zapped by its high voltage, body-shaking electricity.

"What's going on me?" Rico thought in desperate.

"Well, well, look who's here," Red Eye greeted him in style and in a psycho-like voice, "A meddling kid, eh?"

"What would you destroy my home?" Rico asked in demanding, "You...You pervert!" Red Eye then electrified him with thousands of volts, zapping him severely.

"Oh, yeah, I would do that so I could be king here," Red Eye retorted in style.

"Yeah, and our leader will be emperor," one of his grunts added in style.

"I won't let you happen that!" Rico retorted in struggling. Red Eye then electrified him with thousands of volts, zapping him severely.

"Well then, stop meddling into our plans, you meddling kid," Red Eye said to Rico in response. Then to his grunts, "Take him to the chambers of lockdown, along with his stuff.

"Yes, sir," his grunts obeyed his commands. They then unchained Rico, and took off the electrodes; they then carried him away while one carried his stuff. And as Rico was being carried away, Red Eye chuckled a bit in evil and said, "You're such a weak, useless kid."

At the chambers of lockdown, one of the grunts threw Rico inside the laser-barred chamber in force while the other put his backpack onto a table.

"You'll be here for the rest of your life," the male grunt said to Rico in style of evil, "Weakling!" He then laughed in evil and locked the chamber by activating the red lasers and left the room, along with his female partner and shut the door hard, creating a noise. Upon seeing this situation, Rico sat on the floor, slumped against the wall, and felt sad in losing hope.

Meanwhile, back at their home, Lucas and Rosario was finding Rico, searching in every room, but no luck.

"Where is that kid?" Lucas commented while thinking.

"Yeah," Rosario replied in worry, "I hoped he didn't turn into more like his brother." They them noticed a note under the keys onto the dining table. In response, they went to it, picked that folded note, and read it.

The note says:

"Red Eye is doing something bad. I'm going to save the region. I'll be back."

Your son,

Rico Titus."

And upon reading this, the couple are shocked and stunned that their son was gone into something dangerous, so they ran out of the house and speeds to the city's police department.

In the meantime, back at Red Eye's mountain base, Rico was sad, still losing hope.

"I thought I can do it," he thought in sadness, "Now I can't." After a minute, he looked across the room at the lever that controls the cage. And luckily, no one was there, even in the CCTV room, because they're busy ȧssisting Red Eye in brainwashing Arceus. Seeing an opportunity to escape, Rico picked up some rocks and threw them at the lever in an attempt to pull it down. After much failing, the third stone finally hit the lever, pushing it down, and causing the laser bars that locked him to dissipate, freeing him. Once freed, Rico got out of the laser chamber, grabbed his backpack, and escaped the chamber rooms. Later, he escaped the base and into the forest. All this time his Pokémon are in his Pokébelt, safe and undisturbed.

In the same time, at Kawayan City's police department, as the Cruz couple finished filling a "Missing" slip, Campillo and Lunick ran to them and asked the couple, "What are you doing here? What's going on? Where's Rico?"

"Rico's gone," Lucas replied, " Here's his note;" he then gave Rico's note to Campillo and Lunick. Moments later, the two were shocked, and Rosario said to them in worry, "He's turning more like his brother."

"I see," Campillo replied in knowing. Then, suddenly, Trevor ran to them, and informed them, "Something's going on at Mount Soratas!" Alerted by this, Campillo said to Officer Jenny, "Officer, something's going on at Mount Soratas!" In response, Officer Jenny nodded seriously and called all her police squad. In less than an hour, all of them, except Rosario and Lunick, race against time and speed towards Mount Soratas. This will be a shock for Red Eye and his team.
