Chapter 38 - 38 - Take the Risk

Rico then came back to the mountain, only to see that Red Eye had caged Detective Trevor and Ben, and captured their Pokémon. And as Red Eye asked questions and insulted them, Rico sneaked in behind, and stand onto a large metal box, and shouted at Red Eye, "Red Eye, you're gonna pay for this! I'm not running away!" Upon hearing him, Red Eye turned around and retorted in a villain style, "Heh, you are too late." He and Rico then turned towards the mountain, watching Arceus, brainwashed, destroying Kawayan City severely.

Down in the city, people panicked and ran in all directions, carrying their Pokémon and belongings. Officer Jenny, Lunick, and Solana are evacuating people in basements of malls and big, tall buildings. Rosario, hiding in the mall's basement, was terrified as the lights fluctuate.

"Rico, honey, I hoped you'll be okay," she thought in terror, "Mommy is in the basement, hiding. I'm here."

Back at the mountain, as Red Eye laughed like a maniac villain, Rico was downward sad in defeat, thinking, "It's over. It's gone now. I'm sorry, my love;" he then started to shed tears of sadness.

But, it's not over, a Water Shuriken bursted into the scene, destroying the second pillar of the weapon. This shocks Red Eye, transitioning his laughter to falling shock upon seeing this; and as Red Eye and his team are distracted in shock, Rico snuck in and released Detective Trevor, Ben, and their Pokémon in just less than 2 minutes.

"Rico, what are you doing here?" Trevor asked him in serious response upon being rescued, "I told you to go to your father."

"I won't leave my allies behind," Rico seriously answered them. Amazed by Rico's inspiring statement, Detective Trevor and Ben nodded seriously nodded in agreement with him. They then called their Pokémon, Pyroar, Staraptor, Riolu, Litleo, and Piplup. Their Pokémon then faced Red Eye and his team and his unstable weapon in fierce.

"Riolu, use Focus Blast!" Rico seriously commanded his Pokémon, "Litleo, use Flamethrower, and Piplup, use Bubblebeam!"

"Pyroar, use Flamethrower!" Trevor commanded Pyroar in seriousness.

"Staraptor, use Wing Attack!" Ben commanded Staraptor in seriousness.

"Greninja, use Water Gun!" Blue Ninja commanded his two Pokémon in serious coolness, "And Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Then, together, their Pokémon used their trainers commanded, destroying Red Eye's mind-controlling weapon, and reducing it to broken parts rubble. Smoke and dust covered everything in that area. Arceus had snapped out from Red Eye's control, but due to the aftereffects of brainwashing, Arceus starts to rage, and uses Hyper Beam randomly everywhere. Thinking it is now out of control, Red Eye and his team fled the scene on their Z.Z. Flyers. Professor Campillo, Lucas, and police officers came into the scene, only to see Arceus got out of control.

"Watch out!" Campillo exclaimed the rest in warning, "Arceus is out of control!" Arceus then started to attack by using Hyper Beam on them, causing them to dodge out of the way, and eventually got separated. Campillo, Lucas, and the police officers watched in desperate.

And as Arceus kept attacking and the Blue Ninja is trying to calm it down, Rico sensed Arceus' inner mind, "Arceus was unable to control itself, because of the aftereffects of brainwashing. I have to help it." Then, in a serious and determined state, Rico walked towards closer to Arceus at the edge of the cliff.

"No, Rico, don't do it!" Campillo warned him in exclaiming.

"Son, don't!" Lucas warned him in exclaiming. Rico's Pokémon then called their trainer in warning.

"Kid, what are you think you're doing?" Blue Ninja asked him in alert response upon seeing him walking towards Arceus. But none of them stopped Rico from doing this risky thing. Stopping just a few meters from the edge of the cliff, Rico said to Arceus, "Arceus, hear me, snap out of this!" But Arceus didn't hear him, and still rampaging.

"Hear me, Arceus!" Rico repeated his petition to Arceus. But still, Arceus didn't listen to him, and still rampaging. Rico then repeated his petition to it, and Arceus was rampaging more. Everyone who seen this was amazed and watched in desperate. Then, after minutes of chanting, Rico got enough, and responded, "All right, that's it! If you don't snap out, then take me instead. Come and... get me!" He then opened his arms wide in sacrifice, and closed his eyes.

"Son, don't do it!" Lucas warned him.

"Riolu!" Riolu responded in desperate. Trevor then hold it and the rest of Rico's Pokémon, warning, "No, it's too dangerous!" In response to this, Blue Ninja closed his eyes in focus. Arceus then produced a blinding white light that covers. Everything was wrapped in light. Trevor, Campillo, Lucas, Riolu, Litleo, Piplup, and the police officers watched this in desperate, with Riolu shedding a few tears of sadness as it holds Rico's towel.
