Chapter 102: I can’t help you here

"It's been a while… How long do you think I have stayed here? Hahahaha" Lucien laughed lightly while he spoke.

Rakuzen remained silent gazing at the youth while feeling guilty for his current predicament. Lucien had been sealed in this place for more than a year now. Although Rakuzen's actions were meant to save him, he never expected Lucien would be put through so much. He is only a fourteen year old yet he had chains drilled into his back, his hands and legs chained and his body drained of all forms of mana!

During the past year, Lucien focused on refining the numerous souls he absorbed with the soul cauldron. While his cultivation as a mage may have remained stagnant, his soul has been strengthened to a terrifying extent and his spirit energy has reached an amazing level.

During this time, Rakuzen has regained the power of faith which he spent when fighting the creed members! In fact, the amount of faith power he gained from his people was greater than ever! During the past year, they have been attacked occasionally by magic beasts of various levels, bandits, and small cults or organizations but none have ever made it to the walls of the village! Everyone who bore evil intentions towards the people of that village was struck down in one go! Because of this, the people couldn't help but have more faith in their God!

I said it's not your fault… I saved so many lives yet I am treated like this… I dealt with members of the creed yet I receive a treatment worse than death… I have given my all to this empire from the very first day yet I was treated like trash… My family… My clan… My empire… they are all the same… You are the only true friend I have…. You made me understand that" Lucien laughed lightly again while speaking.

Rakuzen knew that Lucien's time here has somehow broadened his world view but this also driven him mad to an extent. Although the emperor and Instructor Han have come down here to speak to Lucien a couple of times, Lucien always remained silent and has never really spoken to them.

It was more like he is unwilling to speak to anyone except Rakuzen

The sounds of the powerful iron doors of the dungeon rang out loudly, causing a lewd smile to appear on Lucien's face.

"It seems we have a visitor, old man Raku" Lucien chuckled cutely while he spoke. 

His eyes may have been bound by a piece of metal ring placed around his face but thanks to his strong soul and his profound realm in the spirituality cultivation which has already reached the warrior realm, Lucien could see the world differently even without his eyes. In fact, he felt more comfortable staying this way with his eyes shut tight.

Footsteps could be heard and soon it stopped only a few meters away from him. The visitor had silver hair and wore a silver kimono with the crashing water wave design all over the kimono. Behind him were guards with torches and weapons!

"Hehehehe! Old man Han, you have grown stronger since the last time we met… peak of the mortal realm, not bad! Not bad! Your cultivation speed is quite good" Lucien chuckled stiffening the hearts of everyone around him.

Instructor Han was stunned as well! How could someone at a lower realm tell his realm even with his eyes sealed? What he found more shocking was the fact that Lucien took the initiative to talk to him! In the past, Lucien always remained silent but now he spoke without restraint and even more than the usual Lucien does! There was something different about his aura now.

"Lucien… I am sorry I cannot help you here" Instructor Han said with an eye filled with emotion while gazing at the youth who has gone through so many hardships.

The emperor and Instructor Han would have loved to help Lucien but this matter involved the whole empire and all the noble families! Both cultivators and none cultivators! Everyone condemned Lucien for stealing a treasure that belonged to the empire and they all wished to see him punished for that!

"Hehehehe! What nonsense are you saying? I am not the one that needs help…  I am guessing today is the day of the trial and they sent you to fetch me… The gates are opened everyone is down here… what happens if I wish to escape?" Lucien revealed a sinister smile as he said those words, causing the bodies of those around him to tremble!

Although Lucien's realm is weaker than theirs whenever they gazed at the youth, they kept feeling the threat of death looming over their heads. On normal occasions, someone in confinement and in a bad situation like that of Lucien would slowly get weaker and lose wait but Lucien actually increased in size and looked fit!

"What are you trying to say?" Instructor Han asked with narrowed eyes.

Even if it's Lucien, he wouldn't let anyone threaten him so easily! Especially not a junior!

Lucien slowly got on his feet and approached instructor Han slowly. The metal chains trembled greatly but couldn't hold Lucien! His skin tore as he forcefully pulled himself out of the chains pierced into his skin, causing blood to flow but even then the same sinister smile remained on Lucien's face as he approached!

With each step he took, his aura got thicker and a faint image of a shapeless silver thing slowly came into view, by the time he had taken five steps forward everyone present found it incredibly hard to breathe, including instructor Han causing them to fall under the pressure of Lucien's soul power.

By the time Lucien reached Instructor Han, he grabbed his former friend and sworn brother by the hair and pulled him up on his feet! Only then did people realize that Lucien was as tall as the instructor!

Gazing at his old friend with his spirit eyes, Lucien said…

"If it were an offensive mage It would have been difficult but to send a support mage like you is quite stupid… Han… You are not my opponent!" Lucien declared with a wide grin on his face!
