Chapter 103: A Joke

Lucien's words were like a dagger, accurately piercing the hearts of those who heard it and striking fear into them. Even though they had greater cultivation realms, they were extremely sure if they fought Lucien here, they will definitely lose. When making this speculation, they didn't put Rakuzen into consideration, the ancient being was beyond their level by far!

"Joking!" Lucien suddenly screamed childishly as he released his strong grip on Instructor Han.

Taking a few steps back with looked like he was tip-toeing, Lucien forcefully broke free of his binds meant to suppress mages but not a spirit cultivator like him. Ignoring the bleeding wound on his back, Lucien pulled out a black sleeveless mage attire from his pocket dimension and put it on right in front of everyone!

While he did all of this, He still maintained the jovial aura around him, making people strongly believe he has gone crazy. When he was done, he let a mage heal the wound he incurred by forcefully freeing himself and began heading to the trial grounds where his fate will be decided!

While they moved silently, Instructor Han couldn't help but ponder on the events of the past. He was a hundred percent sure that even though Lucien claimed it was a joke, he was sure he felt Lucien's killing intentions directed towards him. It was like Lucien was actually considering killing him and something told him that if Lucien planned to do so, he won't be able to escape, even with his spatial magic.

Throughout his journey, he couldn't help but shoot Lucien occasional glances. This youth was different from the kid they once knew! Life and situations have reduced this youth to a twisted being who conceals his pain with a smile!

He couldn't help but feel like the empire made a terrible mistake!

Gathered at the sacred grounds of the empire were all forms of nobles, including those without any cultivation and those who cultivate as well. With such powerful figures involved in this case, even Emperor Fei couldn't do much. They waited until Lucien appeared on the elevated podium where everyone can see him!

While everyone expected to see a thin, malnourished youth, what they saw was an extremely handsome youth who had his eyes covered and wore an expensive robe with a smile void of any forms of worries.

Upon arrival, Lucien could feel the spirit signature of everyone around, he saw so many people today he couldn't help but feel excited.

"Oh?" Lucien muttered when he noticed the gaze of the emperor, making him turn his face towards his direction while revealing a wicked grin.

"LUCIEN… ON THIS VERY DAY YOU ARE CHARGED WITH TREASON, FOR STEALING A SEALED ARTIFACT BELONGING TO THE EMPIRE… HOW DO YOU PLEAD?" The spokesman of the judge said with his voice enhanced by magic.

His words caused others to tremble since they soon realized what was going on. If Lucien is found responsible he will be charged with treason and the punishment is death! Everyone turned their gaze towards Lucien, trying to see how the youth will reply. As a fourteen-year-old, when faced with so many powerful figures, a normal person would tremble but Lucien showed no sign of fear. He grabbed the metal ring around his eyes and crushed it like it was only a piece of paper making the hearts of everyone skip a bit!

Even though he was around five hundred meters away from the spokesman, his gaze with his purple eyes made the man feel like his life can be stolen away at any moment.

"I don't like the way you speak to me… Lower your tone!" Lucien said so calmly that everyone thought their ears will fall off.

"SUCH INSOLENCE FROM A LITTLE BRAT!" Earl Julis rose on his feet and released his aura while revealing his cultivation level which is only at the mortal realm!

"SILENCE!" Lucien growled annoyed for the first time.

His words were directed towards the noble and it carried ripples of his soul power smashing into the man!

Right before everyone's eyes, the man turned terribly pale as he spat out a mouthful of blood, falling back on his seat! His gaze revealed intense fear when he looked at Lucien causing the civilians below to shudder in fear! 

At this moment, everyone expected the guards around Lucien to suppress him in some way but when they looked closely, they realized these people were as pale as a ghost, it looked like they were in some sort of trance, put up by Lucien!

"Is this meant to be a trial set up for me? What a joke!" Lucien chuckled, leaving even Emperor Fei stunned!

Even if he wished to help Lucien, after all that has happened now, he definitely won't be able to save him if these people want him dead!

"I embarked on a dangerous task with the most incompetent set of people I have ever met in my fourteen years of living… I lead them into battles even though we had an instructor with us… I protected a good number of them… and when faced with the threat of the creed, I single-handedly defeated which even the combined strength of the three empire forces could not do… I bleed and fought for it and when the time came for me to preserve my life through the help of the sealed artifact due to the injuries I sustained fighting for you… I took hold of the sealed artifact and made use of it… Instead of getting a thank you, all I get is this? Now it's time I ask a question of my own… Give me one good reason why I shouldn't just kill every one of you here?" Lucien said as his eyes flashed with killing intentions.
