Chapter 179: The real monster

Emperor Fei kept his gaze pinned on Derik and even though he could clearly see his power has dropped to that of a peak sprint realm master he was still too fearful to go in head-on. When Derik mentioned Blink the Emperor remembered the silver-haired kid who was the leader of the invaders at the black water cave. Upon his defeat, the kid claimed he served the god of death and his master will avenge him. While the emperor took note of the warning but he really didn't take it seriously. There were lots of things going on right now that he could barely understand!

Where did those rainbow-colored chains come from?

How did they manage to drain a large portion of Derik's power in just an instant?

Was there a hidden expert helping them

Or is the world looking after them?

So many questions popped up in his mind and knowing he could not get the answers frustrated him even more. This man also claimed that the gods of their world were strong but he was stronger, doesn't that mean he single-handedly defeated all the gods of this world?

Is that even possible?

Lucien on the other hand kept gazing at Derik with an extremely shocked expression on his face. Not because Derik was here but because Rakuzen just confirmed Derik's initial claims, the Raizen god beast and the others have been defeated by this man. This made him wonder how possible it is to defeat all the godly beings of this world so quickly, in such a short period. Like it has only been an hour at most since he consumed the Raizen god beasts avatar. That means that the Raizne god beast and the other god beasts with the human gods gathered and we're defeated in mere minutes?

Is it that these so-called gods are too weak or Derik is just too strong?

[Now is not the time to ponder on thoughts. The world is on our side, it has limited the power of Derik, bringing him down to the realm of mortals… Derik had also sustained some serious injuries during his battle with the gods but as a godly being he could ignore it but now his power has dropped, he is feeling the full weight of his injury! If there is the best time to fight him, it is now! This is the perfect opportunity to kill this arrogant death god!] Rakuzen growled, snapping Lucien out of his trance.

Hearing this, Lucien's eyes let out black sparks as his body was consumed by lightning energy as the figure of the Raizen god beast appeared behind him. Ignoring the confused Emperor, Lucien charged forward with the habakiri in his right hand and a lightning spear in the left! His body moved in zig-zag motions, leaving behind black trails as he charged forward with his greatest speed!

"Die!" Lucien growled as he tossed the black lightning spear at Derik and instead of falling back he chased after it with killing intentions in his eyes.

Derik felt his vision blurry for the first time in a long while. His wounds weren't healing, causing constant black blood to roll out of the holes in his body. He was still alive simpler because his body has always been only a shell. Dead and gone with no vital organs, no heartbeats nothing and all that mattered is his soul that's why he gazed at the approaching Lucien with uncontrollable anger.

He could feel the soul power within the attacks that looked like normal spells, leading him to believe that this kid had some sort of special pathway that gives him this unique trait. Maybe it is the power source in him that's giving him that power but all that didn't matter anymore since Derik already considered this kid dead the moment they met face to face.

"Face me head-on? I have seen much more capable than you and yes, they are all dead!" Derik said as he charged forward recklessly.

His eyes gave out a bright green light as he waved his hand and a bone spear appeared in it!

Bang!

Derik stomped the ground, launching into the air and spinning recklessly with his bone spear, leading many to believe he is insane but to their greatest surprise, he split the lightning spear and even sped up even more in a bid to close the distance between him and Lucien.

Whoosh!

Both sides clashed as Derik struck forward but Lucien was already airborne, spinning recklessly like Derik just did previously!

"Copying my moves, How bold of you!" Derik laughed but his face soon twitched the moment he saw a flaming whip heading towards him!

"Scram!" He roared as he reached for the whip and grabbed it but even to his greatest surprise, the whip began glowing ridiculously before exploding violently!

Bang!

Derik's figure could be seen shooting out of the smoke while Lucien chased, amusing Derik even more!

"If only we met in a different circumstance, I probably would have accepted you as a disciple!" Derik's voice thickened as his originally long, neat, and flowing hair turned wild and rough.

His muscles began bulging and his hands revealed darkish green claws and even when he grinned his fangs were shown!

Boom!

The ground beneath his feet shattered as he suddenly stopped retreating and charged forward ruthlessly!

"Fast!" Lucien gasped in shock!

From the very beginning, he may have been lacking in many aspects but one thing Lucien has never been defeated in is a game of speed! But right now, he could barely follow Derik's movements with his eyes! Even the Lucardo clan head is inferior to this man in terms of speed!

In just a single breath Derik had closed the distance between them!

"Fall!" Lucien growled with all his might as he flung the flaming whip towards the death lord bit Derik retaliated by brandishing his claw at the whip almost nonchalantly!

Bang!

"I am the real monster here!"

Those were the words Lucien heard as he watched the hilt of the habakiri in his hands crumble to dust like they are nothing!
