Chapter 445 - Come Back!

Ariana caught sight of Lord Romanoff's attack and tried to pick up her speed by opening up her wings but Lord Romanoff was quicker. "Ahh!" Ariana screamed as Lord Romanoff sliced her left wing in half. Charoite turned to Ariana's scream and his eyes turned wide when he spotted a chunk of her wing on the ground, it had already started to turn in to pure garnet while Ariana laid further ahead, tiny blood veins stretching out from her wound.

"The beast let down it's guard! Do it now!" A woman shouted from the robed army. Charoite ignored the robed army and turned his body as he stretched out to grab Ariana when suddenly a large plum coloured, magic circle appeared underneath him.

Ariana felt a surge of magic, adrenaline pushed her to get up off the ground. She turned her gaze to Charoite, body limp from Lord Romanoff's attack and her heart practically stopped. "No! Charoite come back now!" Ariana yelled desperately as she stretched out one hand towards him. 

It was too late. The robed army had created a barrier of darkness and started to drain Charoite's power. Ariana gritted her teeth, she glanced back at Davita and then turned to Charoite, she didn't know what to do. "Ha... ha... hahahaha!" Lord Romanoff laughed as he slowly walked up to Ariana. "Charoite! Davita!" Ariana shouted weakly as she took a shaky step back.

"I can't believe you were brought down so easily!" Lord Romanoff grinned as his eyes turned round and mad. Ariana hugged herself with one arm. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Charoite roared and Ariana made her choice. She opened her eyes and lunged towards Charoite. "I'm sorry Davita..." She mumbled as she stretched out her hand and reached for the barrier.

The moment she made contacted she felt a rush of pain numbing her whole body. Ariana dropped to her knees, her body trembled as her blood ran ice cold. "Is this really it? Is this all the great Ariana can do?!" Lord Romanoff asked with a mocking tone.

"W-who s-s-sayssss?" Ariana replied, teeth chattering as her face darkened. "Do you really think you can get away now?" Lord Romanoff said arrogantly as he raised his sword again. Ariana looked up and watched as he brought his sword down and effortlessly cut off her right wing.

Charoite roared but his voice sounded weak. Ariana scowled at Lord Romanoff as her wing turned to pure garnet. "Still trying to be strong even now?!" Lord Romanoff laughed as he raised his sword again. Ariana smiled causing Lord Romanoff to hesitate. "I will never lose to you." She said cheerfully. Lord Romanoff started to laugh, he didn't know what was going on in her head.

"You will be so much fun to break." He said as he resumed his position. "I would like to see you try." Ariana said sweetly. "But," Ariana then said as she narrowed her gaze and her voice dropped to a darker tone. "I want to see how you will stand. Now Davita!" Ariana shouted. "What?" Lord Romanoff said but it was too late to react. Davita then spun her body and wind blades shot forward. "Ahh!" Lord Romanoff screamed as he dropped his sword and collapsed to all fours. 'Ariana!' Davita shouted and Ariana stretched up her hands. Davita flew past and Ariana caught hold of her claws and they both flew upwards. "You b*tch!" Lord Romanoff yelled. Davita then tossed Ariana upwards and Ariana flipped in the air and landed on Davita's back.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Ariana asked as she scanned Davita's body. 'I told you I was.' Davita giggled but Ariana didn't believe her. Her beautiful emerald body was singed and torn all over. If Davita hadn't used her powers to tell her that she needs to go to Charoite she would have been still stuck in the middle of both of them.

"You've turned reckless..." Ariana mumbled. 'Can you break the barrier?' Davita asked. "No... I don't know how to save Charoite." Ariana replied as Charoite's body started to decrease in size. 'Well we better think of some-oh!' Davita said as she looked up. 'The others are back!' She then said happily. "Look!" Ariana cheered happily as she pointed downwards.

The plum coloured magic circle suddenly turned a bright purple. "Something is breaking through?!" Someone shouted. "Put more energy into it! We can lose control!" Another barked but it was too late. Eight, flesh coloured, oversized appendages surfaced upwards and drummed themselves onto the ground. It looked like a four legged spider trying to squirm their way out from under a book.

After testing out the area it latched itself down and started to split the magic circle apart. A bright, sea foam blue light shone upwards from the fissure that the appendages created. The barrier came down and Charoite roared in delight. "Quickly come back!" Ariana called out as she stretched out her hand.

Charoite smiled with a small blush as he quickly withdrew. "It escaped!" A woman shouted furiously. "But at least you won't be able too!" A female voice sang as the magic circle was ripped in half. The oversized appendages shrunk and disappeared while the robed army was tossed back from the force of the magical disturbance. Suddenly a figure rushed out from the giant fissure in the ground and the magic circle dispersed. Ariana couldn't help but smile as Loralei and Cayden appeared.

"Took you long enough!" Ariana shouted from above. Cayden looked up with a gentle smile but when their eyes met his smile fell. His eyes then started to burn with rage and his hands balled at his side. "Who?" He growled as he bared his canine teeth. Ariana gulped as she tried to shrink back but there was no stopping his fury.

"Lumas, save the Templars! Quickly!" Ariana managed to squeak out but Cayden had already broke their connection and looked down to Lord Romanoff. The Lumas quickly moved to save who they could while Davita kept Ariana at a safe distance. 'Kill him.' Vasu said as he made eye contact with Cayden.

Cayden's eyes grew wide and he quickly turned to Vasu, they both had nodded. Lord Romanoff smiled as he looked at Cayden. "You!" Cayden hissed as he he turned his gaze back. Lord Romanoff laughed as he grabbed the sword and dragged it towards his body. "Are all illegitimate children so stupid?" Lord Romanoff laughed as he stabbed the ground with his sword.
