Chapter 444 - Refusal

She found the pedestals and extended her reach to Charoite. "You need to get everyone out. I'll leave the bad guys to you." She said as Charoite slithered up her arm. Ariana opened her eyes and smiled. A loud roar echoed into the air as a giant, black blob with a pinkish-purple hue outline started to bubble up from the ground.

The Templar soldier let go of Ariana and the sword, stepping back as he did. Ariana let out a deep breath as she applied pressure on to the sword. She looked into the Templar's eyes and gave him a soft smile just as she wrapped her hands around the steel sword. "Don't worry." She said as she shattered the sword like it was made of glass, leaving a chunk of the sword inside her abdomen.

"I won't hurt you." She said as her blood started to crystallized around the wound and the sword, her smile never faltered. She silently thanked the Templar soldier missed her vitals. "You weren't trying to kill me right?" She asked the Templar soldier with an overly sweet voice causing the Templar soldier to drop the hilt of his sword. A loud clanking sound called Lord Romanoff's attention and he turned his gaze to the two.

The Templar opened his mouth to answer Ariana but he was caught off before he could make a single sound. "What are you doing?!" Lord Romanoff shouted. Ariana tilted her head to the side and looked at the Templar soldier then Lord Romanoff. "Are you asking me or him?" She asked as she pointed at herself then to the soldier.

The bubbling shadows raised to the roof of the market place. It tgen filled out and a blob ghost was standing tall and proud. He then turned to Arianna and opened his beady eyes, a pinkish purple glow surrounded his simple shaped body. He blinked a few times looking confused and adorable like.

Lord Romanoff clenched his teeth and glared at Ariana, contemplating his words.. "Oh! Charoite?" Ariana called out in an exaggerated tone as she turned to look at Charoite.

A small roar left Charoite's mouth as he rolled his beady eyes, knowing his master was just playing around. He then turned away and started to slowly absorb and close the dark portals. Soon enough the robed army started to scream as portals started to close in on them. Some were even cut in half as others lost limbs, others their heads.

"Idiots attack it!" Lord Romanoff commanded. Charoite blinked it's beady eyes again, looking bored as the robed people turned their attention to him and started their attacks. Ariana let out a small giggle as she stretched out her wings. "Don't bother! My Charoite is the best shadow user ever!" Charoite heard Ariana and raised his mitten like hands, he looked down at the robed people and gave them a quick wink. Some robed people were shocked and stopped their attacks as their blood turned ice cold. "Don't stop you idiots!" Lord Romanoff ordered with ferocity. 

Suddenly Charoite let out an earth shaking roar. The roof of the market started to break and chunks were falling downwards. The Lumas moved to protect the citizens while the robed army were left alone to fend for themselves. 

Ariana grinned, there was no use saving those who ambushed her. "Get them out of here now!" Ariana ordered as she extended her claws and took an offensive stance. "There will be blood shed tonight!" She shouted as she flashed Lord Romanoff a sinister smile.

Charoite closed his mitten like hand and raised it upwards with great speed. the rest of the roof opened up and the Lumas started to move upwards with their group of citizens. Davita removed her wind barrier and stood beside Ariana. 'Will you send out word that this war?' Davita asked. Ariana shook her head no. "We will just have some fun for now. Help me out?" Ariana asked as she gave Davita shaky smile. 

Davita grinned right back. 'I was weak before I met you... So it will be my pleasure to help you!' Davita shouted as she flew forward. Ariana tuned to Charoite and grinned "Keep up the good work." She said before she joined Davita.

"Bring down the Demoness! We must take her back no matter the cost!" Lord Romanoff commanded. Soon the army of robed men and women charged forward but Charoite flung his arm at them and sent them flying. 

Davita stopped moving and stared down the Templar soldiers, her long body slithering in the air as she stared. "Why aren't you attacking?!" Lord Romanoff shouted as his eyes turned into a mad man's. "I-I-I can't." A young man said as he dropped his sword onto the ground. "What?!" Lord Romanoff hissed.

"I can't either." A woman said as she stabbed the ground with her sword. Ariana was confused, she landed back on the ground and watched as one by one the Templar soldiers started to drop their weapons and take off their helmets.

"Are you betraying the church?!" Romanoff barked as he watched every single soldier turn their cold eyes to him. "No, we are just not listening to you. Especially when you seem to have some hidden army under the church's name." A man with golden brown hair said.

"Lord Romanoff, you have a lot to talk about with these people and," Ariana said with a giant grin as she turned her gaze back to Charoite, he was still happily playing with the robed army and her Lumas had successfully evacuated the citizens.

"It looks like my assistance is not needed here anymore." Ariana said as she turned her gaze back to Lord Romanoff. "Fine! If you won't listen to me then you will die here instead!" Lord Romanoff shouted as he raised his hands and they started to glow a murky golden brown colour.

"Davita!" Ariana called out. Davita quickly created a barrier of wind around the soldiers. Lord Romanoff scoffed and turned his attack to Davita. "Pouli ahi sprenging!" He said and a chain of black flames exploded everywhere.

Davita looked around trying to find a safe path but the explosions were erratic and strong, her wind barrier was instantly dispelled. The soldier were blown away, hurt or killed while Davita's body landed onto the ground, completely unconscious.

"Davita!" Ariana shouted as she moved forward without a second thought. "You're mine now!" Lord Romanoff laughed as he grabbed a sword that was stabbed into the ground with one swift movement, he the twisted his body around.
