79 Let's Rewrite Our Destiny Again.

They all wrap up the party at 12 AM.

Xue Mei was so tired, so she went inside her room and lied down on the bed. Within less than a minute, she falls asleep.

In her dream, she looks herself in the mirror, she was sobbing and look so sad. She then turns to look at the bruise on her wrist before she looks at her thigh.

Not long after, she heard a doorbell sound from the door. She wipes her tears and went to the door. Open the door, she was quite shocked to see him, her neighbor, which looks a bit similar to a certain someone.

"Zhi Ann, I hear the villager said that you've come back. Are you okay?" He asks worriedly. His voice always gentle and soft when he spoke.

"Bai Li, I'm okay." She tries to not look at him in the eyes.

"Look at me and tell me if you really okay." He lifts up her chin softly and makes her look at him.

Looking at his eyes, her tears start to form again.

"He..he beat me up, again." She sobbing.

Seeing her crying, he pulled her into his embrace. "Don't cry. You're safe with me now." He tries to calm her down.

He brings her to the living area and makes her sits on the rattan chair. Very classic.

He kneels on the floor and takes a look at her left wrist. He put the ointment and treat her other wound place.

Take her right hand, he kisses it with dearly. "How many more years you want to stay like this? Your body is not made of steel. I can treat you better than him. Leave him and marry me, Zhi Ann."

She slowly pulls her hand from his grasp. "You know my answer, Bai Li. I can't marry you. I'm not someone who can choose my own destiny. I had things I need to do. If only I was born from a normal family, I would love to be your bride."

"I can protect you. Nobody knows about me. I had no family and no relatives. It just only me in this world. No one can threaten me. I can't watch you like this. I can't bear to keep longing for you like this."

Like a dream in a dream, she wakes up again. This time, she looks at the mirror and found that she already aged.

Her hair has a slight grey color and her skin is not too flawless like before, but still, look beautiful. The attire she wears look a bit more modern than before too.

She dresses up and went to the villa across hers. Ring the bell for a few times, but no one answers it.

The lawn is a bit messy with the long grass around the villa. She turns her head when a little girl standing near the wooden fence of the villa.

"Granny, did you looking for grandpa Bai?" She asks with a cute little voice.

Smiling at the girl, she nodded her head. That little girl is one of the neighbor granddaughters.

"Do you know where is grandpa Bai now?" She smiling at her lovingly.

"Erm…." She scratches her head a little. "Grandpa Bai now at the heaven."

She scrunches her eyebrow a little. "Heaven?"

"Mhm...He sleeps for a long time and never come back." The little girl then continue. "My mama said that he went to heaven. I miss grandpa Bai. He always gives me flower whenever I cry because of some bullies."

Her hand starts to tremble, her eyes redden and feel hot. She holds her feeling before she asks again. "Do you know where grandpa Bai sleep?"

"Hm?" She tilts her head and shows her a mountain behind the village. "At the cemetery."

Sniffing, she said, "Thank you, sweetie." She went back home and took her purse before she went to the flower shop.

She bought dark crimson roses. Went to his grave, she put the roses and the ring that she bought as their marriages ring.

"Bai Li..why did you leave me alone?" Her tears roll down her cheek.

"You promise me you'd wait for me. I even bought the ring for you." She sits on the ground.

Looking at the picture on the gravestone. "You still look handsome as before. I heard, the villagers saying that..you went to the city to find me? Is it true?" She tries so hard to smile even though it's so hard for her to do it.

"I told you before, I will come and find you myself, why did you go and try to find me by yourself?" She sobbing, regret that she was not able to contact him and tell him that she was okay.

"In this lifetime, you didn't own my red thread of fate. But for the next life, I will beg to god and let me found you first. Bai Li, I want to meet you again in the next life. Let's rewrite our destiny again. Love me like you always do and I will love you with all I have." She wipes her tears and stands up again.

With a sorrowful voice, she said "Bai Li…be my…"

Xue Mei suddenly wakes up when she heard a creaking sound from the corridor.

She sits up and found that her eyes were wet with the tears.

"Why am I dreaming something weird? I even cry in my sleep." She murmurs and went to the bathroom.

After wash up her face, she looked at the watch. It's already 3 AM. Her eyes are now totally wide awake.

She changes into pajamas and took a sweater from the bag. She wants to take fresh air for a bit.

She opens the door and went downstairs. Open the glass sliding door to the backyard, suddenly Xui Li tap on her shoulder.

"Mei.."

"Ah!" She jolts her body a bit. After looked at Xui Li's face, she sighs in relieve.

"Xui Li..don't scare me like that." She punches him a little.

"Sorry...I didn't mean to scare you."

"Mm." She still continues striding to the wooden fence followed by Xui Li.

"Can't sleep?"

"Mm. I awake because of a weird dream." She said and stare at the ocean.

"Really? Me too." He sits beside her on the wooden fence.

"Are you still drunk?" Xue Mei narrowing her eyes to him. He drinks a lot of alcohol before they went to sleep.

"No. I quickly sober, you know. I had a good tolerance with alcohol." He smiles assuring her.

Looking at his smiling face, she suddenly had a glimpse of the image of Bai Li. She shakes her head a bit.

"Erm..that's good then." She also smiles at him.

"You know, your face..kinda familiar. Hmm.." Xui Li divert his eyes to the ocean and cross his hand on his chest.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yup."
