80 Just Let Me Handle I

In the rooftop, facing the town view.

Ren Zhi exhaling his smoke and stare at the night sky. He was thinking about his promise to Xue Mei, but at the same time, he also thinking about the promise he makes with Ha Eun's doctor.

The creaking sound made him shift his eyes to look at the door.

"Oh, I'm sorry... I thought there is no one here." Ha Eun stands not far from him.

Ren diverts his eyes, he smoked his cigarettes and exhale the cigarette smoke before he throws the cigarette butt to the cigarettes tray.

"Can't sleep?" He asks Ha Eun softly.

"Yeah. I don't know you're smoking?" She went close to him. Standing at the brick hedge, looking the village view.

"I only smoke if I needed to."

"Hmm. Something happens between you and Xue Mei?" She glances at him.

Smile faintly, he shakes his head. "Not really. I find it hard for me to be mad at her. She simply listens to what I said. Sometimes, I feel like I was the one who treats her badly."

Chuckles, she also smile after that. "Yeah..she surprisingly..very understanding, very optimistic and I like her. I got why you like her. If you throw anything to her, she just smiles and handles it with calm. Something that a normal girl wouldn't have even though she's sometimes act very immature."

"Hm..that's her."

They silent for a moment before Ha Eun start again. "Do you remember that tree?" She points her finger to one of the tree not far from his villa.

"That? I remember. You lost your ring that I bought from overseas."

"You know, I accidentally found it three years ago."

"Oh? How did you find it?"

"It's covered with sand. I saw a dog digging the sand, so I went there and found the ring."

"Then, did you lost it again?"

"No. I keep it safe this time."

The next day, they went back to Imperial City.

On the ride back, Xue Mei put her earphone and lean to the comfy seat. She seats at the front passenger seat while Ha Eun sits at the back. She's been quiet since they start to leave the villa.

The dream that she had last night really give her some great emotional effect. Not only that, she always had a thought that Xui Li is Bai Li. Why she even dream that? Why she always feel something is not right like she made a mistake. But she doesn't know what mistake she did.

After a few hours, she's been silent, Ren Zhi holds her hand gently.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He already used with Xue Mei's talkative mouth, but now it feels like he was in the cemetery. She was silent since they start to leave the villa. And that makes him wonder. Is she sulking with him? But because of what?

Glancing him a bit, she pulls out one of her earphones. "Huh?"

"You've been quiet since we leave the villa. Did something happen? Or did I do something that made you like this?"

She shakes her head. "No..I just..lack of sleep." Her voice sounds feeble.

Caress her hair, he then said. "I'm sorry if I do something that hurt you. Sleep, and I'll wake you up when we arrive."

"Mm." She nods her head and put back the earphone. Close her eyes, she tries to get some sleep.

Ren Zhi focuses back on the road, he thought that Ha Eun also sleeps at the back, but actually, she just shut her eyes closed but not sleeping.

She feels a bit jealous with how Ren talks and treat Xue Mei just now. She knows that she shouldn't have that feeling anymore. But she also can't help to feel that way.

A few months have passed with just a blink of eyes.

Xue Mei is now quite busy with the assignment. This time her assignment is a bit pilled up than before. All of this for her to get a good mark and being acknowledged by the dean.

She's working hard to fulfill the dream to go to France with Ren. Ren Zhi is also busy with his career path interview and his pilling up project and assignment.

They rarely meet and only had time for texting only and it also not much as before. With Ha Eun condition that he needs to take care of, his hand is totally full right now. He also only pick Xue Mei from her workplace every Saturday night, and for the rest of other night, she takes a train and sometimes Xui Li will give her ride.

"Hah~" Xue Mei throws her body on her bed. Tired.

"Finally done!" She said and rubbed her face a few times. Just when she wants to get up, she heard a knocking sound from her door.

She went to open it. "Xui Li? What's up?" She asks.

"Hey, are you free tonight?" He asks. Not sure about his plan whether this is a good idea or not.

"Erm, I had my day off. So I free. Why?"

"Er..actually, my parent hold a party at my father's company. So..My mom and sister have been insisting me non-stop to bring you there. You know..as my girlfriend."

"Do I need to wear something formal?" She asks. She doesn't really bother at all, she like his family and its been so long since last they meet. Of course, she wants to see them again.

"Here." He gives her a big clothes box. "I..erm, my sister pick this dress for you." He smiles at her.

Took the box, she asks again. "Okay..what time do we need to leave?"

"Around 7. I'll knock again."

"Okay.." She smiles before she closes the door and Xui Li also return to her room back.

Xue Mei put the box on the bed. She finds her towel and toiletries to get a bath at Risa's room.

"Say it again?!" Risa half shout when she heard that Xui Li invite her to a party at his father company.

"Risa..don't shout." She also shouts from the bathroom.

"No no..this is something exciting. I had a right to shout." She was the one who is over excited about this party.

"I told you before that I pretend to be his girlfriend at his family house. So it's normal for them to invite me over because they thought that we are still a couple." She opens the bathroom door with a towel wrapped on her body and hair.

"I know..but never thought that his family really remember you and care about you." She murmurs and went to Xue Mei who already sit on the dresser chair.

She helps her to dry her hair. "I feel like, you and Xui Li are suited to each other."

"Come on, Risa. Stop your matchmaking idea." She rolled her eyes.

"Erm, whatever, by the way where is your beloved boyfriend?" Risa asking. She's doing her makeup now.

"He had something to take care of. I don't know, maybe his family in the hospital. Because from the background noise, I could tell that he was in the hospital." She shrugged her shoulder.

"You're too freewill with him you know. He might be cheating behind you."

"What about you? You too, too free with Shou."

"Well, because I know he's a playboy. I don't care less about him. But you're different. You're too in love with Ren. If he does something like that, I know you're the one who will brokenhearted and sad." She tries to give her advice.

"I know. But, I trust him. He won't do something like that." She tries to assure Risa and her heart too.

"Hmm. I don't know what kind of advice I should give to you anymore." Risa shakes her head helplessly.

"Then don't. I know you love me. But about my relationship..just let me handle it."

"Yeah yeah." She continues to do her eyeliner.
