73 Did You Guys Fighting?

At night, after finish working hour, she took out her phone and try to dial Ren Zhi's phone.

After a few rings, he picked up her phone.

"Hey, babe."

"Ren, are you still busy right now?" She asks while glancing at her watch.

"Erm..kinda. You need anything?" He asks gently.

"Uh..no. It's okay if you busy. I'll take a train." She replies with a slow voice.

"Wait, did you work today?" He immediately sits up straight and looks at his watch. 'Shit! It's already 10:30 PM.'

"Y..yeah. Urm, Ren..it's okay. You busy, I got it. Don't worry I can return on my own. Just settle down your things, okay?" She tries to think positively.

"Babe, I'm so sorry.." He said with apologetically.

"Ren.."

Xue Mei flinches a bit. She could hear a woman's voice called out Ren's name.

"Ren..may I know, you're with who right now?" She asks him. Her voice is still calm than before.

"I..with Ha Eun, she's sick. I just help her to.." He tries to explain to Xue Mei his condition.

"It's okay. I got it. You're just helping her. So, I'll see you tomorrow?" She tries to smile even though she knew he can't see her face.

"Yeah. See you tomorrow."

She ended the call once they wish a good night. She tries as possible to not let her doubt take control over her.

Sighing, she put her phone back to her bag and start walking to the train station.

"Xue Mei!" Xui Li just walk out from the store when he saw Xue Mei walk at the walkway.

Turn around, she looks at Xui Li.

"Hm?"

"Wait for me." He runs to her and walks beside her after that. "Did you forget that I did not bring any vehicle today?"

"Oh! I forgot. Sorry!" She makes an apologetic expression to him.

"It's okay. We need to hurry up too. The last train is at 11." He said and both of them speed up their pace.

Ended the call, Ren turns to Ha Eun who just woke up.

"Do you need something?" He went to her.

"Water.." She said slowly. The doctor still not discharging her from the hospital. Dr. Harlina wants to check her thoroughly before she can really be discharged.

Took the glass and pour the water in it, he gives it to her carefully.

"Slow down." He rubs Ha Eun's back.

Feeling a bit better after drinking water, she turned to look at him. "Ren, you can leave me here. Xue Mei will be worried about you."

"I told her that I had to take care of you, and she understands. Don't worry too much."

"Is she know that I'm.."

"No. I told her that you're just sick. You don't want people to know, right?" He knows how Ha Eun's behavior too well.

She nods her head. "Thanks for not telling people about it."

"Hmm."

"But Ren, really..I'm okay. I used to it." She still wants to convince him that she doesn't need to be taken care of.

"Sorry. I'd be here until you get discharged. So, if you don't want to see my face, get well soon." He pats her hair.

Two days have passed.

Ren did not show up yesterday and still, he gives the same excuse to Xue Mei that he needs to take care of Ha Eun.

So, today..is the final night of their summer festival. She did not expect Ren to come up. She knows, in the end, he would say the same thing.

She wears a halter neck white chiffon dress and let her hair loose. Just doing a simple makeup and she went to the auditorium with Risa and Mr. Takashi.

"So, Ren will pick you up after this?" Risa ask. She had doubt with Xue Mei when she said she wants to go back alone.

"Yup. Don't worry." She smiles at Risa. Knowing that she might be worried about her.

"Seriously? What is wrong with you and Ren? Did you guys fighting?" She still doesn't know about Ren who attending Ha Eun at the hospital. All she knows that she's not seeing Ren these past few days after the concert.

"No..we're fine."

"Then, why you turn like this? You were always cheerful. Now you're just...gloomy. All the dark cloud is surrounding you. One can see it. You can't hide it." Risa starts to nag her.

Chuckles, she did not reply anything to her. A minute later, they arrive at the hall. Both of Xue Mei and Risa part their way because they need to sit at their course area.

Her seat is designated as before, her name, Ren and Ha Eun. But, both Ren and Ha Eun is not attending the closing ceremony and it leaves only her. All other students already start whispering to each other when seeing only Xue Mei who come tonight.

She just endures her ears to listen to such an accusation and weird assumption about her relationship with Ren.

Their art wins the first place but only Xue Mei who walk into the stage and receive the trophy. It is supposed to be the happiest night because their target has been achieved, but she could only force a smile on her face.

"All student, the firework party will be held behind the hall.." The announcer of the ceremony said through the microphone instructing the student to start moving to the area behind the hall.

Stand up, she picks up the trophy and went to the exit door. Not wanting to join the firework party.

"Xue Mei.." Xui Li called out her name.

Turn around, she smiles at him. "What is it?"

"Going somewhere?"

"Yup." She nods her head.

"Can I join too?" He noticed her cloudy mood. It's been two days she took a train with him. Of course, he knew.

"Uhmm.."

"Come on, I know where we can relieve our stress for a bit." He holds her hand and led her to his car.

She did not have a choice. After all, let out some stress that burdening her sounds good too.

"Erm, Xui Li..where are we going?" She asks when Xui Li when she looks he took a road to the center of the city.

"You'll see."

Xue Mei did not ask him anymore.

Once they've arrived. Xue Mei blinks her eyes a few time. While Xui Li already went to the car trunk and bring out his guitar.

"Don't tell me.." She turns to look at Xui Li.

Smiling at her, he says. "Yup."

He holds her hand and went to the center of the street.

Put his cap on the walkway, Risa went to his side and sit on the bench he asks her to sit and watch.

Pluck his guitar string, he starts singing on the street. One by one people starts to gather around them, hearing Xui Li singing and playing his guitar.

Her gloomy mood faded away as she also enjoying his free show right now. Sometimes, she will sing together with him. Even though her voice is not that great, but still. She enjoys her night with him.

They busking until late at night.
