71 Impossible Love

Creak!

Ren Zhi looking at the door once the door was opened by the doctor.

"Are you patient's relatives?" A young doctor around her twenties asks Ren Zhi while putting the stethoscope inside her white coat.

"Yes. How is her condition, doc?" He asks worriedly.

"For now we already give her the medicine to stabilize her condition. But, do you have her medical record? I need to check on the med she's been taking on. It seems like she doesn't take any regular med from the hospital in this country." She explains.

"Uh...I will try to find it and give to you. Thanks, doc." He said. He actually doesn't know who is her attending doctor. She did say she travels around the world just to find a great doctor.

"Okay, so she's sleeping right now. You may come back tomorrow or maybe you can wait here with her if you're the husband." The young doctor said before she leaves.

Ren did not reply anything either, he went inside the room and sit at the chair beside her bed.

Seeing her pale face and swollen eyes make his heart a bit hurt and sad at the same time. It feels like dejavu. He had a feeling that this kind of setting did happen before. But he couldn't remember when.

"Why it must be you?" He murmurs and his eyes caught her handbag that he bring earlier.

"Ah, right." He took her handbag and rummaged inside it. Trying to find something that can lead him to her private doctor.

Upon rummaging her purse, a small black card falls on his lap. Took the card, he flips it.

'Dr. Hazel Lu.' only that is written on it.

He sighs a bit and finds her phone after that. After unlocking her phone using her fingertips, he finds any contact details with Dr. Hazel.

Luckily there's a contact number on it, he dialed the number at the midnight time in Imperial city.

After a few rings, a female voice greets him.

"Hey, Ha Eun..what's up?" Dr. Hazel greet the caller once she pushes the green button.

"I'm sorry, is this Ha Eun's private doctor?" Ren asks politely.

"Uh..yes. Who is this?" She flinches a bit and turns to look at her husband which is now ready to get to bed.

"I am Ha Eun's friend. I'm sorry to call you late in the midnight. But, could you send her medical record to my email tomorrow?"

She sits up and signaling her husband that she needs to go to her study room.

"What's wrong with her? Is she admitted at the hospital?" Dr. Hazel ask worriedly and open up her laptop.

"Yes. It's not too severe. She just has a mild attack because of lateness taken the med. So the doctor here asks about her med prescription and her medical record."

While searching for Ha Eun's details, she asks him again. "What was your name again?"

"Uh, Ren Zhi. Zheng Ren Zhi." He said.

Stop her finger from scrolling the mouse, Dr. Hazel turn silent for a moment. "Of course." She mumbles.

"Sorry?"

"Uh, Mr. Ren. I'll be handed the record by myself. I'll be going there tomorrow, first in the morning. So, I hope I can see you then?"

"Sure. But, is it okay for you to travel here just to pass the record?"

"Mr. Ren, she's like a daughter to me. Of course, it'd be fine." She assured him.

"If so, I really thankful. Thank you, Doctor Hazel."

After ended the call, Hazel sigh and rub her forehead a few times before her husband, Andy, comes and massage her shoulder lightly.

"Something happens, dear?" His gentle voice always makes Hazel calm.

She nods her head. "My patient. Ha Eun, you remember her?"

Andy looks at the wall for a moment, try to remember one of his wife's patient. One face across his mind. A beautiful girl who is around his daughter ages.

"Yeah."

"She's admitted in Imperial city hospital. I need to go there and check on her. You remember the love story that I once told you?" She turns her body and looks at her husband, lovingly.

"The one which is, impossible love?" He takes a guess.

Hazel nod her head. "Yup, that's the one." She stops for a while before she continues again.

"She begs me so that she can come back to where her love is. I think she found him. But knowing that she only had a few months. I couldn't think how is she able to suppress all of her feelings."

"She still can have her happiness, right? Love doesn't mean that you need to have it. Love also can be shown by letting it go. So many different kinds of shape that love can be. Like you to me, you are my eternal love." He bends his body a little and kisses her corner of lips.

"Baby..you really good with your word and flirting too. Don't you know that we already be an uncle and aunty?" She wrapped her hand around her husband neck.

"Really? I don't know. I think I still look handsome as before, and so are you." He kisses her lips passionately.

"Shall we get to bed, now?" His husky voice whisper to his wife's ears.

"Let's."

Lift her up, he went to the bedroom carrying her wife.

Ren returns to his apartment after he calls Ha Eun's private doctor.

He needs to bring her clean clothes and a few other things to bring to the hospital tomorrow.

Looked at his watch, it's already passed 2 AM. He's so tired. Without much thinking, he sleeps without eating his supper.

Vibrating sound from his phone on the bedside table makes him scrunch his eyebrow before he took the phone and pick it up.

"Ren..still sleeping?" Xue Mei ask.

"Hey babe..sorry, I just woke up. Is there something that you want?" He pinches his forehead before slowly open his eyes.

"Yeah...Eh, no. Actually, I just want to hear your voice. That's all." She smiles a bit.

"Oh, um..babe, what time is it?"

"Huh? Erm. 10 AM."

Sit up, he looks at his own watch. Yup! It's already 10 AM. He needs to hurry to go to the hospital.

"Ren?"

"Er babe, I call you later, okay?" He said hurriedly.

"O..okay.." She also didn't ask further as she ended the call.

Throw his phone on the bed, he immediately went to the bathroom. Taking shower and after that he went to the next door, packing for Ha Eun's clothes before he goes to the hospital.

He goes to her room, and once he arrives, he looks that Ha Eun already wake up and at the bedside, there's a woman in her twenties, he guesses. But the aura around her looks a bit similar like his mother.

"Ren?" Ha Eun was a bit surprised to see Ren at her hospital room.

"Hi, sorry I'm running late. Are you feeling okay?" He went to her and bows his head a little to the woman beside her.

Hazel smiles and turns to look at Ha Eun. "Er..Dr. Hazel. This is Ren. The one that I told you before." She introduces him to Hazel.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Zheng." She stands up and extended her hand toward Ren.

Take her hand, he also said. "Nice to meet you too, Dr. Lu."

"Eh, you two know each other?" Ha Eun tilts her head a little.

"Oh, no. We've talked yesterday night." Hazel turns to Ha Eun. She sits beside her and caresses her hair like her own daughter.

"Oh?"

"He's the one who told me about you. Why you forget to take your medicine? You promise me, right? Do you want me to confine you at my hospital again?" She teases her.

"Dr. Hazel, please..I'm sorry." She makes a sorry face to her.

Ren can see how close they are. At least, he feels a bit of relief. She was fine and she found a great doctor that treats her nicely when she was away from home.
