119 The Sakura Garden

Now that Linri was finally free to do whatever he wanted, he took this chance to tour the school again. There was especially one place he had to see and it was the Sakura Garden.

If you asked all the students in the school about whether there was any special place one should visit, they would unanimously answer Sakura Garden. It was a magical place and he meant that in the literal sense.

You see, Linri did not exactly remember why but someone once cast a time statis spell in that garden making it a constant state of spring. So even if it was middle of the autumn you can still see the blooming sakura trees. It was a sight to behold and considering he never saw blooming sakura trees back in his own world, he thought it would be a nice place to relax and think about the events that happened today.

So Linri sent a message to Kris from his cellphone about what happened before making his way there. To his delight, it was exactly like how it was described in the club. Even before taking a step inside the garden, he could already see the beautiful trees that were blooming with even more beautiful flowers. Linri felt like even the air was fresher inside there. Though he was 90% sure, it was just his imagination.

If you were a botany geek you would basically be on cloud nine right now. I mean, you could constantly observe the blooming process of the flowers and see it first hand whenever you wanted. Unfortunately, Linri was a literature geek so he only felt awed at the start and afterwards he wasn't that impressed. It was just some pink trees, what was the big deal about them? If he said that to Japanese they would probably beat him with a stick till he apologised.

Anyway, Linri quickly found a spot under one of the trees and relaxed. As far as he could see there wasn't a single person around so aside from the chirping of the birds he could not hear anything. Most of the students were probably packing their belongings to leave the school. After making sure that nobody was around Linri took out a cigarette and started smoking. Just like every school, it was banned to smoke in Autumnfall and he was not sure if he could find any opportunities like this to smoke peacefully in the future.

To be honest he really wasn't addicted to the nicotine inside the cigarettes... at least not yet. His addiction was more on the psychological side. Before transmigrating, he would smoke at least one pack a day, so every day he was not smoking here he felt very weird. I mean he wasn't addicted yet in this body so he thought maybe he could use this chance to quit once and for all but there were moments he would crave them and he couldn't stop himself from lighting one. Maybe 'couldn't' wasn't the right word in this situation, he actually didn't want to quit in his heart and that was it. Anyone could quit smoking if they wanted to, even if they smoked at least two packs a day but if you didn't want to quit, even if you had a brand new body like Linri, you would start smoking soon enough. So why should he be a hypocrite and make up excuses? He liked smoking so he did. At least on the plus side, he had [1.5 x Above-average Physical Recovery] so it should take some time before he got lung cancer.

While taking a nice big puff from his cigarette, Linri thought about today's events. He had messed up big time. He had lost a big asset like James along with almost dying. Since he had successfully saved Kris, Linri trained every day with his father. Even if he could not compare to a martial artist who has trained all his life, he should easily be able to take on military personnel. Don't get him wrong, he was definitely not as trained as them but his attributes allowed him to take on a professionally trained squad of ten with his body alone. And that was assuming he did not use any of his own abilities or equipment. Along with not having any dangerous situation he had finally become arrogant. Even though he knew it was a bad thing, he could not do anything about it at this moment.

And unfortunately, that was the problem he needed to find a solution for. It might not seem like such a bad problem at first but arrogance and pride were the banes of all people. I mean he should already stronger than 90% student base and those he could not defeat would be because their abilities countered him but it didn't mean that they were strong. Anyway, his strength coupled with his knowledge of the future and the fact that he was desensitised by his own death thanks to Udcek, resulted in Linri becoming arrogant. He had simply won too many times without experiencing any sense of failure.

He was not invincible and even his trump card could not be used immediately. If someone could attack him before Solas or Lozna incarnate into his body he would be dead. So it was only useful against people who had attributes lover than [5 x Burst Speed]. Thankfully no one should be able to reach that in the next six months or so. By then he should have already awakened but that was also kind of a bad thing considering he did not know if the Gods still could incarnate into his body. After all, right now it was easy, he was basically an empty vase and they had a connection to him thanks to the [Stones of Day and Night], but once he awakened he would consume the stones and make them his own power. He did not even know if he could still keep his spiritual connection with them.

All in all, he can not get rid of his own arrogance in the short term and that only left him with a single option. And that was to plan even more carefully and gather up some allies. The next event was going to be the 'Game' event where Ms Snow was going to threaten to nuke the school. Then there was the issue of other transmigrators. Linri could not see any of them in the opening ceremony, so they were either going to come tonight or they weren't planning on attending Autumnfall in the first place. Honestly, he could not blame them if they chose the second answer as it would be safer but at least in the start of the term they should be safe and this place was a nice environment to get stronger. However, it wouldn't also be good for him if they choose to not attend. The more people there are that know about the future, the less his advantage would be.

Linri could not help but feel like his thoughts were all over the place. Maybe it had to with the breakdown he had yesterday but he was having trouble concentrating on a single subject.

*Rustle*

"Who is there?" Linri immediately threw away the cigarette in his hand and turned around. However, he could not see anyone. It must have been the wind. Phew, for a minute there he actually thought he was caught by one of the teachers. He definitely did not want to get caught smoking on his first day!

*Rustle* *Rustle*

Linri turned around without even uttering a word this time. He might be paranoid but he could swear that he just felt someone observing him. Fuck! If it was one of the teachers, how was he going to explain the smell of smoke coming from him?

When Linri turned around his mouth became wide open. In front of him, there was a girl dressed in white, looking out of this world. She had light brown wavy hair that stretched down to her waist and a beautiful doll-like face. Her lips were a light shade of pink. Linri could not take his eyes from them. How could someone have such beautiful lips? He wondered how would they taste like? Maybe strawberry?

"Eek!" the girl let out a little yelp before disappearing in front of his eyes.

"... Elizabeth?"
