95 Yuki's Smile

*** Princess Rosli's Point Of View **

It has been exactly one day since I had heard from my darling Yuki's guard about the plan he had in mind. I may not have many good feelings towards darlings new found friends but I can at least be happy that they are all taking care of him in my absence.

I sighed as I watched the morning sun rose shone through my favourite pink curtains and slowly sat up. The sound of morning birds calling had always been one of my favourite sounds. I listened to the warbles before the sound of footsteps broke the calm atmosphere.

" Princess here is your uniform," Said a maid who had come into my room.

" Thank you Llana, could you also get my lucky pink ribbons? There is a war on today and I must be dressed in my finest" I said before gazing down at my dark blue uniform the sign of an Air mage.

" Of course my lady" Llana said before she promptly collected and placed my favourite ribbons on the bed.

I knew that my maid was looking at me like a hungry wolf but I decided not to feed her with any gossip. Today was important, it was the first day since Yuki's heart was fixed that I have been relied upon.

[ I must do my utmost and there is no room for failure! ]

I allowed my maid to dress me slowly as the plan from Loki yesterday went through my head. I couldn't help but giggle at the "minor inconvenience" we would cause that Prince Romeo today.

After I was dressed and my hair was tied into pigtails I walked out into the dorm lounge room to see that my breakfast had already been served.

It was a light meal of soup, bread and tea made by one of the many personal chefs of the crown. It was a simple meal, but it was one that I and my brothers were rather fond of. Empress mother would make it for us when we were sick so this sort of basic meal will not only fill our stomachs but our hearts as well.

" Good morning sister," Leopold said as he walked out of his room and made his way towards the breakfast that was waiting for him.

" Brother, I thought you would be late again. You must really be more aware of your standing " Crown Prince," " I said teasing Leopold.

"Pink again dear sister? If you wear anymore you will turn into a pretty pink flower " Leopold said as he rubbed his eyes and took a spoon full of soup.

" Brother, Sister good morning!" Nathan said in a sleepy voice.

" Good Morning" Leopold and I said in unison.

" Are you really going to go through with that guard's plan?" Leopold said after he finished chewing on his bread. A crumb or two slipped onto his bright red uniform causing a butler to gently sweep it away before standing behind him.

" Yes, I very much plan to. It is a good plan and should not cause the countries any hostilities." I said as I nodded.

" He isn't much like his father and is too trusting I worry about his future…" Leopold said in a depressed tone.

" Mm much too kind, I mean he was friends with that young Vance boy Sora that tried to kill him," I said in a worried tone.

Nathan pinched the top of his nose between his fingers as he shook his head.

" I guess that is what we all like about him.." Nathan said after a moment, as his light blue uniform fell slightly onto the desk.

And with that, we all finished our breakfast and went to our front door before we all took a breath in preparing for what lay at our entrance.

The door slowly opened before what could only be considered a swarm of students was at our door trying to say hello.

Students from all areas were surrounding us. Apparently, Nathan was quite popular with the art and poetry types while my dear sweet Leopold was very active in the people who were a fan of duels.

It had only been a few days since we had arrived but I had already gained a group of young women who had called themselves the Rosli Roses who would for some unknown reason always escort me to class.

I was puzzled by them and their reasonings for following me but today of all days I was quite happy that I had such a following.

I looked at Nathan and Leopold one last time and they both nodded to me. Lunchtime would hopefully show the fruits of our today's labour.

As I walked along with the girls a discussion came up about Crown Prince Romeo as per usual and the time had finally come.

" I wonder how Crown Prince Romeo is wearing his hair today," said one girl.

" He is so handsome." Said another.

" Did you know..No no I shouldn't tell the way to Romeo's heart?" I said covering my mouth to stop myself.

" Rosli please tell us!" The girls said with hearts in their eyes.

" I shouldn't.." I said looking down at the ground.

" Oh please tell us!" one of the girls said.

" Well in Vance it is quite common for..." I said as I discussed with the girls what Loki had told me yesterday. They all suddenly seemed super excited to leave as they said their goodbyes and bowed before racing off.

I couldn't help but giggle as I continued to the classroom in peace.

Just as I was about to get to the entrance way I absent-mindedly walked into a relatively strong back with a light thump.

A person with spiky brown hair and fetching coloured eyes turned around to see me. They were dressed in a guards uniform with the signal for the Vance royal family stitched just near the button that held it together.

" I am very sorry to miss," The guard said with a captivating voice before his eyes widened. He quickly dropped to one knee and saluted before staring at the ground and almost shouting.

" Princess of Tama, I am truly sorry for bumping into as I did. I am a beast for hurting your delicate features. Please do not think less of Vance for my inappropriate behaviour by rudely touching you without consent." the guard rattled on in a serious tone.

His voice was like a sirens song I had almost forgotten my place as I held up my hand cutting him off from speaking.

" It was I who had bumped into you," I said quickly as I held out my hand to help him up.

[ His hand is so warm! ]

We had what could only be described as a moment where I looked into his eyes and I his before I turned away and blushed.

" Hey.. you guard!" I heard Romeo calling before he arrived at the guard's side.

" Yes my liege," the guard said to Romeo before saluting.

" There.. Is.. fish.. On my desk." Romeo said looking disgusted.

" Fish?" the guard replied.

" mm fish.. Fried, boiled and even candied fish… with love letters attached… Please remove them immediately before I vomit!" Romeo said quietly before he noticed me and became shocked.

" Princess Rosli a pleasure to see you," Romeo said as he grabbed my hand and kissed it.

[ There will be a lot more Crown Prince! Those girls sure work fast! ]

" It seems you are in a rather fishy situation. I will leave you to it, Crown Prince. I am sure if there are love letters attached they must be food filled with the feelings of others. I personally would savour them. I would hate to think Vance dislikes Tama's women. You did say you were open to many wives" I said before I curtsied.

I took one last look at the guard before entering the classroom.

I looked around the room to see notes had been written and placed on Romeo's desk.

It was filled to the brim with various types of seafood. Since it had only taken me an incense stick of time to reach the classroom I had only had to guess that most of the dishes were raw.

By the afternoon rumours were flying like lightning about how Prince Romeo was homesick and that his parents would go fishing with him when he was younger.

The rumours had then changed to the prince's favourite food was fish before finally saying that the way to the prince's heart was fish.

The best part was that Romeo had taken what I had said to heart and had " gratefully" accepted all of the fish that he was receiving.

I had guessed that perhaps half of the Tama river was currently sitting in Princes Romeo's room. I had even seen on girl go as far as to get a small live spirit beast that was of a fish type and place it in a glass bowl filled with water to give to the prince.

[ Serves him right for using Yuki and making rumours spread so he couldn't back out of the guard duels!]

I had spoken to Yuki near the end of the day as we had decided to meet outside after classes. I was disappointed that his guards had come but with my brothers by my side we all ended up having a fantastic time.

We had all laughed as Yuki had asked if giving fish to a person of Vance was a custom of love. He then made up the events "Valentine's day" and " White Day" saying it was probably much better to give something sweet rather than savoury.

Leopold, Nathan and I couldn't help but be shocked at such an idea as these two holidays and decided when we sent our next letter to father we would recommend such events.

Yuki had become such a strange an unfathomable boy.

Everyone in our group couldn't help but laugh as Yuki finally put two and two together and realised what the grand plan was from yesterday.

His stern looking face for the first time had softened when he looked at me and thanked me as well as everyone else for the work we had done.

I was however rather disturbed as the image of the guard from earlier had somehow pushed itself into my head several times while I was facing Yuki.

I had to leave and rest early knowing that perhaps I had overworked myself today but for Yuki, it was worth it.
