96 War System, Get!

The days had come and gone for me since the incident that had now been called operation fish prince. Ki, Ren, Loki and I had all been practicing not only our abilities but our team work. It was not the day for the competition against not only the crown prince of Vance but against the rest of the nobles of Tama too.

I had woken up in an energetic mood today as the War System had finally become accessible to me.

As I thought about the Lubu System Menu there was two push able buttons. One had Kibbles holding a heart while the other had Kibbles holding a sword and a shield. In big bubble font was the words " Love" and "War" on each respective side.

Still sitting in bed I decided to mentally think about the war section and the button for war was clicked.

The systems voice sung in my head in a monotone voice.

The war system was pretty basic. There was a tonne of new abilities that I could unlock. Each ability had a price as well as a description. What had startled me was that each new ability had a set of requirements to use it. There was also little cartoon versions of me using the abilities as a sort of tutorial so I could visually see how each ability worked.

I left like applauding Cupid for his hard work. This very much felt like I was selecting abilities in a video game.

After watching the cartoon instructional video, I found out that I could use these abilities as much as I wanted but only for two minutes for now before I upgraded to the next Rank in my magic, after I had used up my timer I would become temporarily exhausted.

This would only happen if I spent an excess of mana however. The weaker the abilities the easier they were to use with less exhaustion.

There was so many abilities on the list I decided to look at the cheapest one first as my dealings with Crown Prince Romeo had left me pretty broke.

I continued to scroll down the list while the warble of the morning birds kept me company. There were a few abilities that I couldn't afford right now like "Overgrowth" and " Spore" which at a whopping 500DD each were stronger versions of my regular abilities " Grow" and " Seep" that I had learned naturally through training.

There was also " Cover" for 450 DD that allowed the user to stealth in forest areas. With my measly amount of Doki Dollars it looked like I wasn't able to unlock much but I ended up buying the ability " Shield" which cost me 275 DD.

It honestly looked like the most useful right now. As I clicked on in mentally a little video of a cartoon version of me holding a seed in my hand and it exploding into a spartan style shield to block an attack.

It then showed a version two of a cartoon version of me willing the plants around me to form a bubble. The Lubu system also showed that if I was willing plants that were near be I could also use it to shield my friends.

I became excited when I noticed that my Magic Rank could be upgraded but knowing how low my Doki Dollars now were. I could bear to clock on the menu to check the price no matter what it was I probably couldn't afford it.

I sighed as I took a look at the new missions that were currently with my old ones. At least I would be able to get these done and unlock some new abilities.

I at this point had closed down the Lubu System and looked out the window. With my new abilities even with the battle was to take place this afternoon I was confident.

The battle itself would take place after all the lessons were complete. I have heard from a few of the nobles who were gossiping near me a few days ago that the fight would take place on the junior dueling grounds and that there would be teams of four competing against one another. The winners would move up on the leaderboard and the last two groups would fight it out.

I had my breakfast greeted my friends as per usual and headed to my class. On the way I had been told by my cousins that the deal we had planned was accepted by their parents and that I would be given a good deal for introducing the idea of " Selling in bulk" to their auction house.

I was also told that I would be reintroduced to the merchant and food families in the new few days to talk about buying items for class as well as getting a good supply of seeds for planting.

It seemed like everything had been going the in a good direction for me. I had almost completed my plant growing missions. The merchant, auction house and seed companies would all be opening their doors soon enough to me and practice had been going well.

I couldn't help attend my classes with a smile on my face. I had found that these classes were super helpful in helping me learn the basics of apothecary, beast mastery and even magic.

In apothecary class we had to create a basic healing potion using the roots of a rank one beast called the Magdalion. The Magdalion is a venus fly trap type plant beast that has a unique and sickly sweet smell and considered a heavy yang essensed beast. I couldn't help but hold my nose with one hand as I added the mixture of herbs into the Ambient Yin Vial.

The mixture started to bubble and boil on top of the mixer array table changing from a cool blue colour to a healthy green before turning a burned grey colour. I had failed no less than 10 times before half a vial of a " Yuels Healing Potion" was created.

My next class on beast mastery was a little embarrassing. Since I was the only one with a spirit beast Kibbles and I were always " Volunteered" as examples. I had to ask Kibbles to " Sit", "Stand" and "Growl" using the methods that the school had come up with.

Kibbles had decided that since he was so important to the class he would show off and used the front of the class to not only listen to my instructions but to strut around on like it was his own personal catwalk.

I must admit I was rather embarrassed but everyone in the last loved him since he mewed so sweetly last time. His popularity with men and women alike was much higher than mine taking the looks away from people that I would normally receive for my stern features.

Apparently you could only have one spirit beast that you could contract at a time because you and your spirit beast would share mana. It was almost as if you had become a walking battery pack for each other.

What was really strange was that low rank spirit beasts were not able to communicate with their contacter until they were at least rank five so being able to command Kibbles to do things the first time without much effort had left my teacher in awe.

Even soul bound pact owners were not able to usually communicate with their spirit beasts. It was like humans talking to their dogs and cats back on earth. The human was speaking a very different language that the beast had to learn.

The difference between a soul bound spirit beast and a contract one were that humans would share the life spans of their spirit beasts. So some people could leave a few hundred years depending on the beast they bound with and vs versa if the spirit beasts life span was short.

My final class today in magic theory was all about breathing techniques that could be used as well as the different types of magic and how they would be formed naturally in nature and harnessed by humans.

Apparently there was a nomadic tribe that used to live in Tama forests central region and would harness the earth energy from the quakes that would happen due to high ranked spirit beasts fighting.

With my head full of new knowledge I had finally left my finally class. I was not alone however. Nathan had decided to come with me to collect Loki, Ki and Ren and head to the dueling grounds.

The walk was rather pleasant and Loki, Ki and Ren all looked pretty excited in their battle gear. No matter the outcome we had all decided ( except Loki of course) to do our best. Since Loki could probably cause more damage then all of us combined he told me he would only use 20 percent of his power unless he was up against Rinny.

It was a scary thought to imagine Loki in actual combat.

As Nathan, Loki,Ki, Ren as I made our way to the battle ground people who I had never personally met before followed behind us obviously hearing the gossip of the on coming battle.

We had finally found our way to the dueling ground it was packed to the brim full of people. Not just from our year but older students too. Even some teachers had come along to see the show.

I had gulped down some saliva finally understanding how important the outcome was.

" You ready young master?" Ki said as she adjusted her clothing.

" Ready as I will ever be" I replied.
