406 Solve Your Love Problems Yourself

The guards stared at Mika's as she reminded them of the cold hard truth of battle.

Winner takes all.

It doesn't matter if you are honorable or cunnings as long as you live to see the next day.

All the guards fell silent after hearing Mika's words.

Should they have had to have a fledgling teach then such lessons that they had learned first hand on the battlefields?

By the time, their Commander and Lady Lyra joined everyone at the sidelines, the guards looked at Lyra to a new light.

"...My Lady, that was an excellent win."

The rest of the guards followed their leader in congratulating her on her win. Ailwin had planned to chastised his men for their lack of character, but it seems they figured out their problem on their own.

"Lady Lyra, I have to thank you for your lesson today. It seems I did need the training." Ailwin bowed to her.

"Thank you for the compliment...and thank you for teach me some new moves as well." Lyra returned his bow.

Mika watched the two have a friendly conversation with one another and didn't like it.

When the hell did my mother and Ailwin get so damn chummy?

Feeling a bit left out, Mika went and hugged hr mother's arm. "The sun is about to set, it's time for dinner."

Looking up at the sky, she saw the sun was about to hit the horizon, Lyra couldn't believe she let time get away from her for so long.

"En."

Packing up all their gear, they left the training grounds with Ailwin and his guards leaving to change clothes at the guest courtyard.

Sweaty and sore, Mikaela dragged her body into a hot bath. As an important guest were residing with the clan, every dinner was being made into a big family fair.

She really didn't want to go to dinner as her body was telling her to sleep, but the breakfast she ate this morning was long gone.

By the time, she was dressed and ready, the sun had set and clan members were making their way to the dining hall.

Lyra saw the gloomy expression on her daughter's face when she exited her room and could guess what the look was about.

"Mikaela, enough with your tantrum. He didn't know what he was doing...how long are you going to blame him?"

Yes, Mika was in a bad mood because she didn't want to see Ailwin right now. The scene of him and Sienna would played in her mind every time she sees him.

"Why are you defending him? I thought you didn't like him!" Mika huffed.

At first, she wanted her mother to like him, but after last night, she was hoping her mother would have beaten him up some more in the sparring match.

Seeing them be so friendly with each other, irked her nerves for unknown reasons.

Lyra stopped walking and looked at her daughter, "Mikaela, I am not your enforcer for when you are upset with your fiancé. If you have a problem with him then its between you and him. Solve your own love problems yourself, my issues with him have been resolved."

After saying her peace, Lyra walked away.

Feeling even moe irked after being reprimand by her mother. Mika stuck out her tongue at her mother's back and began impersonating her mother in a strange voice.

"Oh, Ailwin thank you for the lovely sparring lesson...I would love to have you as my son-in-law...No, you have the better moves…" Mika was so into her little act, she didn't see her mother stopping to look back at her.

"Mikaela Crystalmist Amara...do WE have a problem?" Lyra raised her eyebrow at her daughter's antics.

Mika immediately stopped what she was doing, "Cough….No, madam."

"Good, then hurry up or we are going to be late."

"Yes...." Nice going there Mikaela…. Mika mental slapped herself.

Unlike the night before Ailwin was able to find his way to the dining hall without the help of a tour guide.

Bring along his guards this time, Ailwin thought they could help keep most of the clan member at bay.

His plan was to make up with Mika before they needed to leave for the winter solstice banquet at the palace.

Arriving before Mikaela and her mother, Ailwin took his seat beside Lord Mano.

Sending all day with his future mother-in-law and wife. Ailwin didn't have time to meet with Lord Mano. Taking the time now, Ailwin made light conversation with him concerning the royal banquet.

"Lord Mano, will you and one of your wives go to the solstice banquet at the palace this year?"

"Hmm...I wasn't planning on it. There is too much work to be done lately." In addition, he was in no mood to see his daughters and his ex-wife.

"Huh? Is the Amara's business not doing so well...is there anything I can do to help?"

"Not all of them just the businesses that deal with our honey orchards and unless you know how to bring back our trees then no, there is nothing you can do to help."

At the mention of the honey trees, Ailwin interest was piqued.

"Lord Mano, do you mind telling me more about this issue with the honey trees. You see, I've sent most of my time on the battlefield, I don't know much about the concerning issue of the honey trees."

"En… Sure, but you can hear about this from just about anyone really."

Mano began to explain the issue in his orchard and how it's been affect not only his business but soon the Fae way of life.

"If it's not resolved soon, I fear there will be a lot of deaths."

"Why? Is it a sure thing that we can't live without honey?" Ailwin thought about this question lately.

"Well… that is the question now. Most Fae nowadays, outside of most of the high clans, have diluted blood. Nearly all of us can't even eat pure honey...but if we were to take that honey away. Three-fourths of the populate would die instantly because our bodies have grown to depend on it since the time before we are born." Lord Mano sighed thinking about the outcome.

"...And the other one-four would be so sickly, I'm sure it wouldn't be long before  follow in their foot steps...Right now, there is not a thing we Fae don't use the honey trees for."
