405 Mama Is Gonna Knock You Out 2

The first one to attack was Lyra, she wanted to test how easy Ailwin would go on her during this sparring match.

Using seemly simple slash to his right, Lyra closed the distance and started the fight.

Back and forth, the two traded blows. Ailwin didn't think Lyra had much combat experience being a madam from an elite clan, but she was slowly proving him wrong.

However, with him using his spear, he was able to keep her at bay for the time being.

For this first match, Lyra was busy learning Ailwin's moves and how skilled he is with his weapon of choice.

She surmised that he was more comfortable with a long or broad sword than he is with this spear, as many of his movements seemed awkward and unnatural at times.

Did he take the spear as a handicap for me?

Lyra grinned as she felt this was the right answer, Well since he wants to lose, I don't mind knocking you down a peg or two.

When she felt warmed up enough, she got serious.

The guards on the outside of the ring cheered as their Commander easily and effortlessly fought against Lady Lyra.

Mika, who was beside them, heard to thoughtless remarks coming from their mouths.

"Commander should end this already."

"En...put the lady out of her misery."

"No, she was the one who asked for it."

"Yea…"

Mika didn't bother correcting the men's assessment of the fight. Anyone who wasn't wearing rose tinted glasses could see that both opponents were sizing each other up at this moment.

However, after her mother finishes her evaluation, she'll become serious and that is when the real show will begin.

Looking back at the ring, Mika guessed correctly. Lyra's moves were becoming faster. She was able to eat up the distance between herself and Ailwin in a short amount of time with less moves.

This change not only surprised the four guards, but Ailwin too was unprepared for the sudden change in her speed.

Trying to make up for his slip up, he jabbed his spear straight at Lyra hoping to drive her back, unfortunately it was too late. She was already pass the point where his spear could put distance between them.

With the space between them more favorable to Lyra's short swords, Ailwin had go on the defense.

Beaten back to the edge of the ring, Ailwin couldn't find an opening. Lyra's strikes were accurate and with little to no wasted moves.

Every single hit she gave, he had to make sure his spear could block or he was afraid she would draw blood.

In the her last strike, Lyra brought her short swords down in a clean arch above his head.

Ailwin had no other choice but to use his spear to block the heavy blows or she would slice through his shoulders.

"UGH!" The weight behind Lyra's strike had his muscles straining to keep the swords from advancing any further.

"Commander Qinvyre, let this be a lesson to you. Never underestimate your enemy...especially if its a female."

Lifting up her right foot, she sent a swift kick to his open midsection, kicking him out of the sparring ring.

"First round, Lady Lyra!" Pia called out, making Ailwin's lost official.

"Wha-"

"Did that just happened?"

"There must be a mistake…"

"The Commander lost…?"

The four guards look on in amazement that their Commander could lose to a housewife.

The leader of the guards looked at Lady Lyra then at Mikaela. Remembering back when Mika beat up General Gilwenys, the leader thought it was due largely in part to the General being ill. However, today...

What the hell is in this clan's water!?

Ailwin was struggling to get on his feet. The kick Lyra delivered to his stomach was so precisely aimed at his weak spot that he felt the hit all the way to his back.

Breathing through the pain, Ailwin wobbled to his feet and entered the ring again. This time, he knows Lady Lyra is not all she seems to be.

Taking her seriously this time, Ailwin picked up his spear and was ready to spar again.

"Round two, begin." Pia called out, getting the four guards' attention. With the start of the new round, everyone's eyes were focus on the center of the ring.

"Ailwin...are you all right?" Lyra smirked

"Ah! Lady Lyra you are calling me by my name again."

"En. How can I continue calling you Commander with those crappy moves." Lyra's insult stung.

Ailwin chuckled, Truly, how could I have shown such soppy fighting to my mother-in-law.

"Then please allow me to make up for it!" Charging first, Ailwin set the pace for the second round. He instant put to use the spear's length to push Lyra out of the ring.

Seeing the edge coming closer and closer towards her, Lyra did clever maneuver that swiftly allowed her to switch places with her opponent.

Tossing her short sword up into the air, Lyra distracted Ailwin's attention enough to grasp the sharp end of the spear with her right hand.

Spinning into the spear, the impact of her back against the pole forced Ailwin to readjust his balance to the right, ultimately making them switch places.

The move happened so quickly that she was able to catch the short sword she tossed in the air.

Realizing that he was in the same predicament he was in the last round, Ailwin promptly swung the spear to push Lyra back.

Able to put distances between them again, Ailwin smiled.

"Lady Lyra, I won't let you win so easily this time."

"Hmph...you mean I won't let you lose so easily this time."

With the banter, the two traded a couple more moves until Lyra was able to succeed with a cunning strike that left this guards booing the win.

Ailwin was using every tactic he could think of to win. When he finally saw victory within his grasp, Lyra used one of her short swords to flick sand into Ailwin's eyes. She then attacked him with continuous strikes before swiping his feet out from underneath him.

With him on the ground, his spear several feet from his hands and her sword aimed at his neck, Ailwin lost the round.

"Second round, Lady Lyra. Winner!"

"Booo…!"

"That was an unfair move!"

"Booo...that's not very ladylike!"

"Lady Lyra that's too underhanded...booo!"

Mikaela couldn't take the guards any longer. Walking over, she cracked her knuckles, "What did you say about my mama…?"

The leader, who led the charge against Lyra's win, looked down at Mika, "That was a low blow... She shouldn't have won!"

Mika looked the man up and down then said, "All is fair when you're getting beaten up. You think your enemy cares if you think they're being honorable or not when fighting you? Of course not...because we want to win and live."
