Chapter 103: Nolan

The group saw the scene and their face turned pale immediately. No one knew what was happening, so they could only turn towards Leafwhisk.

"The demon is trying to break the restriction which was placed on his bloodline by the holy stone. If he was able to break the restriction, it will be very hard for Ayaan to fight with the demon, by his own will. Though the demon's soul was shattered in pieces it was still enough to crush Ayaan, that was the reason he didn't immediately take over Ayaan's body and tried to nurture him," Leafwhisk explained with a solemn expression. It was the first time she was showing such a grave expression.

Pausing for a second, the lady continued, "The blood restriction is the highest barrier for the demon. If he was able to break in time, he would try to devour the soul of Ayaan and replace his own. If Ayaan's will was isn't powerful enough, he will die."

Everyone turned pale after hearing her warning, looking at Ayaan whose skin had been turned completely black.

The two stones were merging above Ayaan's head, releasing a shiny light in every direction. However, everything in the eye of the group seemed to be so slow that it was unbearable.

"Why the fuck that holy stone taking so much time!?" Isobel, who was the calmest in the group, couldn't take anymore and cursed with a voice full of anxiousness.

"What should I do to help him?" tears fell from the eyes of Rebecca when she saw Ayaan's whole body turned black.

Noor tried to say something but couldn't speak anything. She fell on the ground limply without any strength.

In the meantime, Ayaan looked at the gigantic figure of the demonic dog standing in front of him. Though Ayaan could see the demon, he couldn't do anything to the dog. He was looking inside his consciousness after all.

When the demon tried to penetrate inside his blood vessels with his energy, Ayaan felt as if thousands of vipers were crawling over his body. At first, the pain was still bearable, but slowly, it started to increase.

"Argh!" Ayaan growned painfully but didn't move from the place he was sitting.

"Ayaan!"

Everyone suddenly shouted his name unison when they heard him groaning in pain. When the girls saw the painful face of Ayaan, they felt as if someone had torn a piece of flesh from their body.

"This fucking holy stone!" Rebecca cursed in frustration; helplessness was plastered on her pretty face. And whenever she tried to speak, only vulgar words came out of her mouth.

Though the stones were merged more than one fourth, it would still take some time to complete the process. And the situation wasn't looking any better for Ayaan.

"Creak~"

"Creak~"

"Ahh!"

Suddenly, Ayaan heard a sound as if something was breaking; however, before Ayaan could understand the source of the noise, a heart-wrenching scream escaped from his mouth; the pain he felt just now couldn't be described by words. He felt as if someone was grinding him slowly.

Nevertheless, Ayaan clenched his teeth and endured the suffering. His will was very strong; if it was anyone else. He would have fainted a long time ago, by just a sheer pain.

However, even he wasn't able to hold for much longer and fainted due to agony.

"Hahaha! What pathetic successor the elementless pagoda has found. He couldn't even endure a little pain. If he was able to inherit the pagoda, it would be such a waste. Let me take it from you then!" the snow-white dog with crimson eyes laughed sinistrally when he saw that Ayaan couldn't hold and fainted.

Although in the eyes of the demon, it seems as if Ayaan had been fainted; but he didn't.

Something amazing was happening to him —

Ayaan stood in a vast space and looked at the world under his feet. Two boys around the age of sixteen entered his view. Both of them were fishing in the river.

At this time, the first boy looked at the second whose expression was cold as ice, speaking, "Big brother, tomorrow is the awakening ceremony. Aren't you nervous?"

The second turned towards his little brother and said with a nonchalant voice, "Being nervous won't help, will it? Just give your 100%."

The first boy fell silent and didn't talk to his brother anymore.

….

Suddenly the scene changed and a huge crowd appeared in Ayaan's view.

At this time, the big brother was standing at the side while the little brother was talking juvenile with everyone.

At this time a man who was talking to the little brother sighed, "Sigh… fate is cruel, one brother has a special constitution while the other brother doesn't even qualify to practice elemental energy because he doesn't have an affinity with any element."

"Can't he walk the path of the sword, knife or any weapon? They don't need any elemental powers after all." another boy said with a mocking smile while glancing at the big brother from time to time.

"What do you know? Though he could walk the path of the sword or any other weapon, you think he could compare with someone with elemental powers. He is destined to be left behind." the first boy said, and sighed in a melancholy. However, a gloating expression appeared on his face.

The little brother looked at his big brother who was standing at the corner without any expression and felt annoyed. How could he still be so calm?

However, then he remembered that he had already surpassed his big brother and a complacent look emerged.

….

Another scene appeared in front of Ayaan—

"Brother Nolan, I-I lo-love you," a beautiful lady looked at the big brother of the two brothers and said with red cheeks.

Nolan looked at the lady in front of him. The lady had a pretty face; it could be said that she had a rarely seen beauty.

However, Nolan didn't lose his mind after hearing her confession like many others; he looked at the lady for a good while before speaking with a sigh, "Don't you know that I don't have an affinity with any element? My life is going to be mediocre. Do you think it is a good thing to be with me?"

At the end of the sentence, a melancholic expression appeared on his juvenile face.

The girl looked at Nolan and said with a determined expression, "I don't care about the element affinity. I just want to be with you."

Nolan looked at the ladies youthful face and sighed before speaking, "Two years. I will give you two years if you still have feelings for me, then we will talk about. If you don't have any feelings for me, we will pretend that this talk never happened."

The girl looked at Nolan with a severe expression which was looking rather funny on her baby face, and said, "Alright. It is just two years. Do you think my love will disappear from my heart in just two years? You think too little of me."

After that, the lady walked away…

Not far away was standing the little brother of Nolan, holding a beautiful flower in his hand. However, it had been squashed in his hand when he saw the scene in front of him, fury filled his very heart.

"Brother, you will pay for this!" Ivan gritted his teeth in hatred but then he smiled, "You have made a very big mistake brother. You shouldn't have given her time; now, i am going to make her mine, no matter what!"

A menacing look emerged on his face.

One year passed—

"Eva, you know I love you. Why aren't you accepting me? I am the most talented person in our clan. I am going to become the leader of the clan. You sure you won't regret it." Ivan looked at Eva threateningly, trying to put pressure on her.

Eva looked at Ivan, chuckling, "You have asked me this question hundreds of times this year and I have rejected you hundreds of times. Didn't I tell you that I already love someone?"

After speaking she walked away, leaving Ivan behind who was gritting his teeth, "I am going to make you mine by hook or by crook!"

….

One more year passed—

"Boom!"

Nolan who was walking in the forest with a sword behind his back suddenly stopped by a booming sound. He looked in the direction and realised the source was just about a kilometre away from him. Nolan's curiosity piqued when he heard the noise.

"Are there powerful experts fighting?" without wasting any time, he dashed in that direction.

After ten minutes later, a huge pit appeared in his view. The trees had been burned due to fire.

Nolan looked at the centre of the pit and saw a man was lying; however, he could tell that he wasn't dead yet. Though he wasn't far away from dying.

Nolan sprinted towards the man and asked hurriedly, "Hey, are you alright?"

The man's one leg was missing while his hand had been turned into a mash. When the man heard a noise, he tried to look. Immediately, a boy around the age of eighteen appeared in his view.
