Chapter 107 - Lying To Herself

Chapter 107 Lying To Herself

Seeing that Diana was concerned about her, Susan lowered her head in guilt and said softly, “I didn’t do what I promised to do for you.”

The smile on Diana’s face froze at Susan’s words.

Aren actually refused to see me. Why? Is it because he still hates me for leaving without saying goodbye, or is it because I haven’t returned to New York to see him in so long?

Diana couldn’t figure out why Aren didn’t want to come see her.

“Then did Keller tell you why Aren didn’t want to see me? Did Aren know I’m back in New York and never leaving him again?”

This was the first time Susan saw her so anxious since she picked up Diana from the airport. Ever since she was young, Diana had been a princess. She was always elegant, generous, and calm. When had she ever looked so worried and anxious?

At that moment, Susan felt bad for Diana.

Men were all terrible people. Aren acted like he loved Diana a lot, but in just a few years after Diana went abroad, he fell in love with someone else.

The more Susan thought about it, the angrier she became. She seemed to have forgotten that the first person to give up on this relationship was Diana and not Aren.

Looking at Diana, who was waiting for her answer, Susan couldn’t help but sniffle and fight back her tears.

Susan opened her mouth, but she did not know what to say at this moment. Looking at the look of hesitancy on Susan’s face, Diana was saddened and his heart sank to the very bottom of a pit. “Tell me. It’s okay.” A smile that looked sadder than crying appeared on Diana’s face. “Anyway, I’ve already experienced enough terrible things. I think I can handle Aren’s answer.”

Although Diana said that, her eyes were red. A tear trickled down from her long eyelashes without warning:

Susan didn’t know what to do or say, so she instinctively repeated what Keller had just told her.

“Diana, since he has already given up on the relationship between the two of you, there’s no need for you to continue holding on. You’re so outstanding and beautiful. There will be a lot of people who will love you. You don’t need Aren.”

Susan comforted Dana, but Diana shook her head and looked bitter. “It’s different. I only want Aren.” “He is the first person I liked. I can’t like someone else as much as I like him. He is the best in my heart.”

Diana took a step forward and leaned her head on Susan’s shoulder. In a place where Susan couldn’t see, tears fell from her eyes one after another and quickly drenched Susan’s clothes.

Susan opened her arms and gave Diana a big

hug.

“If you still can’t give up on him, as your good friend, I will still support you unconditionally. Just promise me darling, no matter what the outcome is, don’t let yourself be hurt, okay?” Susan’s hug gave Diana enough warmth to calm her down.

“Thank you, Susan. Thank you for being by my side.”

“No matter what, I want to try again. I don’t believe Aren will give up on our relationship so easily. He must still love me. He just doesn’t know how to face me.”

Diana’s voice was nasal and sounded especially soft.

Although there was determination in Diana’s voice, Susan could tell she was uneasy.

But it wasn’t Diana’s fault. Time changed a person. No one knew how much love Aren still had for Diana. But since Keller and Aren were really good friends, in a way, Keller’s attitude reflected Aren’s.

At the thought that Aren would fall in love with someone else and that she would no longer be with him, Dana felt so much pain that she could hardly breathe.

A good day of shopping ended early because of this little episode.

After the two of them casually looked around two shops, Diana and Susan parted ways and returned to their own homes.

On the other hand, Jocelyn and Eliza were having a good meal in the ward.

After eating a few pieces of apple pie, Jocelyn narrowed her eyes in satisfaction and patted her slightly bulging stomach.

“Sweet food really makes people feel better.” Looking at Jocelyn whining like a little pig while holding her stomach, Eliza couldn’t help but reach out and pinch Jocelyn’s face.

“If you lie down right after you’re done eating, you might become a fat girl.” Jocelyn blinked her large eyes and mumbled.

“Even if I become fat, I’ll still be the fatty you love.”
