Chapter 490 - SOCIALIZING WITH SOCIALITES

Jillyanna knew that she was just being greedy for asking a gift from him after everything he has done for her. She didn't really need anything fancy but she knew that he prepared something for her which was why she asked for it. There's no way that his husband wouldn't give her a gift specially that he was looking forward to her birthday more than her.

"Thanks for everything you have done for me." She responded to him and her mind started wandering off to her past again, the time that she wanted to spend with him but couldn't.

"What are you spacing about? Stop thinking negative matters." Travis snapped her out of it.

Jade turned to her mother with a spoon of pudding in her hand. "Eat this, Mom. You will forget all your worries." Jade raised her hand even higher to feed her mother who started to look gloomy.

Jillyanna calmed herself and ate the pudding that her daughter requested. Among the guests she was the only one who was eating a pudding. It was her special request and exclusively hers. "This is delicious. Who made this?"

"Uncle Vincent did." Jade responded nonchalantly and continued to eat.

"Looks like he won your heart." Jillyanna commented while caressing her daughter's cheek with a smile.

"You are wrong, Mommy. He won Auntie Jackie's heart, not mine." She corrected her which made Jillyanna and Travis chuckle. "He told me that he will feed Auntie Riley with this pudding. It's her favorite."

'Right.' Jillyanna thought to herself. When she tasted the pudding, it was the same pudding that Jackie always buys when they were still staying overseas. She thought that it was her sister who made it but, it seemed like her future brother-in-law was learning it for Jackie instead.

Jillyanna looked towards Jade and sighed. 'My darling is physically cute and adorable but she grows up so fast.'

"What are you sighing for?" Travis asked her with a deep frown on his face.

Jillyanna didn't answer him but turned to their daughter. "Jade, don't grow so fast, okay? Let Mommy and Daddy pamper you and spoil you."

"No, I don't want to become a spoiled brat. I am okay with how everything goes. Having a family is more than enough for me." For a child who suffered so much at the very young age, Jade had a very simple wish and it was to end up in a loving home. She didn't care about being spoiled or not as long as her family will truly care for her. She was afraid that if she asks for more, everything will just disappear.

Jillyanna knew how hard it was to grow up without your biological parents, feeling like you'll have to constantly mind your words and actions around your foster parents, thinking how to find a way to repay them, always giving your all to be accepted. She knew that because that's how she felt back then when she got adopted into the Madrid family. As for her mother's so-called relatives, they didn't care about and she stopped trying to care about them.

In the end, she asked to pay everything with their life. Well, not everyone from their lineage died, only those who joined the illegal human research. The other family members went into hiding and never showed their faces. The Summers that shone brightly without any care were the twins and Shein.

She could only hug Jade since she didn't know what to say at this point. 'I promise I'll take care of you.' Jillyanna promised, the words she wanted to hear when she was young. Though her foster parents didn't say it, their actions said it all.

The party continued and Riley hosted a little game all about Jillyanna. It was to measure how much people know about her sister. She was carefully observing everyone and if she finds out anyone suspicious she would keep the person in mind and would let Shein search for them. Any threat to Jillyanna will be taken care of by her.

They had enough of getting their sister in a brink of death. Watching her and her family suffer was something that Riley hated the most. When Jillyanna came to their life and rescued her, Riley promised that she will grow up to protect the kindest person she met. No matter what it was, she will make sure that she's safe.

She asked them about her real birthname, about her songs, her visit to the companies, her life as a student, where she stayed overseas, what she had been doing and stuff. It was to know how much they paid attention to her. After the informal questioning, Jackie came up to have a game with the single men and women. Why the singles? Because most of the businessmen with their wives came to talk with Thomas and Travis about the upcoming projects of Venus Plaza. Jillyanna was chatting cordially with the wives to let them feel welcome.

She knew that socialites, mostly women, likes to chat over tea or rather gossip during their idle times. Jillyanna didn't like that which was why she didn't know most of the women who came with their husbands. For the men, she knew some of them when she worked as the temporary CEO when Travis was in coma.

In her mind, she was thinking that it gossiping with another person's life wasn't productive at all. It will give fun to others but it will add stress to her. Instead of gossiping, she would rather stay at home, spend time with her family, and love them. It was also the reason why many children from rich households weren't closed with their parents, because they were busy with other people and neglected their children.

"Your daughter is really pretty just like you." One of the women commented while looking towards Jade.

"Thank you. Both my mothers are pretty." Jade responded with a gentle smile on her face. She was making sure not to make a misunderstanding. If she agrees that she's as pretty as Jillyanna, many would think of her as arrogant and cocky, that she already thought of herself as related to Jillyanna when she was not. However, if she says that both her mothers were pretty, people would think that she's sensible enough to know her place.

"I heard you are already six years old. Are you studying already?"

"No, I haven't yet. Mommy and Daddy will enroll me this year."

"Oh! That's great. You will definitely have fun in school."

"Thank you." Jade responded politely.

"Which school will you enroll her, Mrs. Madrigal?"

"Travis haven't made up his mind yet. He couldn't find a suitable school for her."

"Why? Are there any particular needs of your child?" another woman stated, her hidden meaning was clear and some of her colleagues elbowed her for being gutsy.

Jillyanna didn't mind it though, after all, only few people knew how intelligent her daughter was. Some say she was smart and sensible but they don't know the extent of her intelligence. "We have checked the different school in the city but none of them offers accelerate learning curriculum. We were thinking of checking the other city before school this year."
