Chapter 96 - Championship (14)

"HAHAHA that's a piece of pure bad luck! This Lee Gaming squad marksman actually went straight to the location where the Chronos squad assassin was hiding!"

"Uh-oh! That is really bad! But we cannot blame him. He was surprised by the arrival of the Chronos mage! I can hear even from here the loud cursing of the marksman user!"

The two commentators simultaneously expressed their opinions after Brent cursed on the lounge area.

"This is why, players, you must remember, do not get caught up easily by the chase! Look at the Lee Gaming squad marksman, he was too focus on catching the opponent. Now, he had forgotten that his enemy is not only the assassin!"

"Right! Spectators who are players of this game watching out there... always remember that in this game, you have five enemies. So, your focus should be on the entire battlefield!"

The two commentators continued to give their advice to the gamers who are watching the game as to highlighting the common mistake of all beginners in the game. Even pro players would exhibit such mistake.

If there were great highlights and gameplays of the game, one of these would be the bad luck that Brent had just experienced. Though, it would be under the category of epic fails!

The crowd had also joined the laughter of the laughter and some even teased Brent from their seats using the internet meme lines "it was at this moment that he knew... he f*cked up!"

This line was repeated from the left side and the right side of the bleacher's area while the audience was giggling and some had a burst of full-blown laughter.

The hateful comments towards Stephen's archer had tone down and the attention was now on Brent's. Both players were marksman users. One was bashed because of the lack of physical damage while the other had become the cause of them to  burst in laughter because of his bad luck.

"These two marksman users are really epic!" a teenager sitting on the middle part grinned from ear to ear.

In most 5 v 5 games, the marksman role had mostly been quickly subjected to scrutiny with their gameplay as this character would normally be the carry.

There are also several gaming strategies that emphasized the marksman role as the core of the team. Hence, the audience had been paying attention to the gameplay of this role.

So far the two marksman users were not acting like a carry of their team. Their gameplay was not so good which made the audience burst into throwing them trash talks.

"The two marksman users are epic fails! But I have never heard of the young master Lee to curse like that. He was always formal when he spoke!" a lady also emphasized the demeanor of Brent.

"Well, this is the game. This would make anyone yell or trash talk!" another person defended.

"That's also true! Even I would cursed many times when I play!" the lady responded as she completely felt and related herself to the situation.

As the timer continued to count in the match, Brent had not yet given up. He still had a glimmer of hope that he would be able to endure. He can still survive!

"I had been chasing this assassin earlier, but now, I must take all measures to escape from her! There are still few seconds left before she will get her ultimate skills," Brent calculated.

True to his guess, Claire was still waiting for six seconds for her assassin's ultimate skill to be available.

If only her ultimate was available, she would have intercepted Brent's character right away. The man would surely not be able to move to the grass if she had struck him with her ultimate.

"You got this! I can still escape!" Brent muttered from his seat as he tried to calm himself.

He was already devastated by the situation but he was still looking for a miracle. The possibility of his survival lies on the Chronos assassin's cool down.

"Young master Brent, use the wall next to you! You can cover the call so you can make an escape route," William suggested as he observed the marksman's movement on his gray screen.

After listening to his ally, Brent nodded and cleared his throat. His right thumb raised slightly as it pressed the request for a backup signal on his mobile screen. At the same time, his left thumb moved on the left corner of his screen so he could retreat.

The other surviving members were quick to respond but Brent's movement was not going in their direction. He was going farther away which was making them hard to cover for him.

"Where are you going? We can't help you!" Brent's sister asked him with a frown. She was confused that the gunner went to a different location.

But this was not because Brent deliberately moved far away. His movement was intentional for the reason that Clark's mage was also blocking his escape route. His teammates just did not make this considerations quickly.

"Be careful, the Chronos mage is also moving near me," Brent announced.

His gunner produced a rapid-firing towards Claire's assassin. Bullets flew in the air but it was easily dodged by his target. It only take Claire to move swiftly on the side and the attack went passed on her.

"TSK!" Brent gritted his teeth and sprinted away. He pressed the second skill of his character to dashed backward and he turned toward the wall to give him a more sustainable escape route.

"Yes, that wall will give make the assassin hard to follow you," William stated. He was pleased that Brent had followed his suggestion.

Brent also smiled after he executed the second skill and his character moved to the other end of the wall. However, his joy was cut off before it could even start.

Claire's assassin flickered! The assassin jumped on the wall to chase after him.

"Oh no! This assassin had used flicker! You must move faster!" William narrated quicker that the commentator could say what happened on their match.

Brent stood for a second and make an aim...

The moment the assassin was still suspended in the air, Brent tried to aim at it. The movement of flicker was briefly stationary in the air and could easily give a clear projectile for him.

After getting a good aim, another gunshot sounded and the bullets hit the assassin. But the damage was not enough to kill the target. And his mana had fully been consumed!

"HAHA, Sof, your friend actually put up a good fight!" Claire quickly spoke his admiration to Sofia. She was aware now that Sofia and Brent knew each other and had been playing in the past. This made her share her observation with the man.

"Oh! You are chasing him! Go, get him!" Sofia cheered at Claire. She also knew from the perspective of the gaming memory that the original owner of her body had, that a good opponent would make the match more enjoyable!

"Hehehe, Yes! I will get him. But his gameplay is admirable. Instead of giving up after this low HP, he actually decided to fight! He even stop just to attack me instead of escaping now!" Claire stated. She was certain that the assassin was good as dead. But still seeing him trying his best to escape amused her greatly.

"His HP is not that low. If you are too complacent, he could really escape from your grasp!" Sofia muttered while looking at the HP bar of Brent's marksman.

These remarks surprised Claire greatly. Sofia did not also think too much of what she said.

"AHH, that is because you had been playing the role of a tank! So, you can tell that it's not that low!" Claire mumbled. To her, it was considered low because the marksman had no solid endurance. This character also lacked armor and shield. So, the HP could easily be drained if she could catch her.

"Mmmn, I used to teach him how to play. The teacher must have been good in imparting her knowledge for her student to have achieved this feat!" Sofia joked while observing the overall movements of the survivors in her map.

As Brent made a way to avoid Claire's assassin, Clark also moved his character to chase after the Lee Gaming Squad marksman.

Claire's assassin was on the other side while Clark's mage is trying to corner the gunner. Their movements were swift and before the gunner could run farther, Claire's assassin arrived and snatched him out on the ground.

With the insane physical damage of the assassin, Brent's mobile phone had instantly turned gray. His gunner died and the respawn timer followed to display.

The second kill of the Chronos squad goes to Claire once more with the support of Clark's mage. Their KDA stats were immediately updated on the upper right side of their mobile screen.

The two quickly turned around and pursue the other surviving players of their opponent's squad.

"That physical damage from the assassin is too big! And she is already full build! This would turn the situation to the Lee Gaming squad's disadvantage!" the older commentator excitedly announced.
