Chapter 94 - Championship (12)

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
"Oh, no! I'm done, I'm really done! I can't escape! Tssk!!! If only I have checked the map to see their location earlier!!!" Clark murmured when he saw two more enemies on his line of vision. There was a mage and a fighter arriving in a swift motion.

"Just focus, Clark. Check for an opportunity to escape! Find an opportunity or make an opportunity if there is none!" Sofia instructed him.

Ideally, the lady always use this line not in gaming but in business.

To her, opportunity exist everywhere. In her previous life, she believed that recognizing an opportunity just depends to someone's ability to see the opportunity.

She does not know if the boy would be able to grasp what she meant behind those words but, what she was certain is that, Clark was already in the state of panic.

"Clark, as long as you can withstand for just a couple of second, I will be able to heal you," Joey told him in a serious tone while his support character was trailing behind Sofia.

On the other side, the two marksmen were minding their business and were still circling around the wall near the river area.

"AHH!" Clark gulped and he felt that he would be suffocated by his own air.

No matter how stern the voice of Sofia telling him to calm down, Clark still felt the rapid pacing of his heartbeat on his chest.

Perhaps, it was because they were already playing for the championship of the tournament. And the idea of his character dying made him too anxious.

"Clark, this is just a game. This is meant to be enjoyed. Don't get frustrated," Sofia reminded him after realizing that he was really in a critical emotion.

If only she could give her calmness or share it to him, she would definitely do it. Seeing her member frustrated like this made Sofia question if they joined the tournament too early?

She could tell that Clark's behavior seemed not yet ready to take any defeat. This kind of mentality might affect him as a whole and not just in the perspective of gaming.

Seeing the struggle of Clark's mage on the large screen, the audience became tensed as well.

"The mage was captured! He can actually escape if he will use purify ability. Does he not know about the purify ability the mage role?" one of the expert mage user on the side of the bleacher uttered in dismay.

"Maybe he had forgotten how to use the purify!" the other audience suggested the possibility."

"He is good as dead!" another one chirped in.

The three audiences were all wearing simple T-Shirts with mage characters. One could easily guess that they were mage users too!

"The Chronos mage is cornered now! What is he going to do? Can this player still escape from the hand of his enemy? That is a perfect ambush from the Lee Gaming squad!" the oldest commentator spoke calmly. He had started to brew another set of tea to make his body keep up his energy from the whole day's event.

"I agree. The HP of the Chronos mage had almost been over. There is no way for him to survive!" the youngest commentator answered. Unlike his companion, he had been drinking bottled to relax his mouth from commentating.

The two commentators stopped talking for a while as they observed the attacks of both side.

"Clark, just try to escape once the stunned effect is gone. How about you purify the major movement attack you are receiving from them? I still need few seconds to arrive in your location," Claire cheered the man even if the situation had gone from bad to worst.

"I am chained stunned by the tank and the mage, Claire. Their timing is perfect, I can't escape!" Clark responded.

He released a frustrated sigh while looking over at his character. No matter how he pressed his skills, his mage could not move. The stunning effect from the opponents was perfectly timed!

This scene of his mage being immobilized quickly made him felt a little depressed  and it only took several breaths for his opponents to chain stun his mage and killed it.

It was a hopeless for him to struggle to survive.

Before he could recover from the stun that his character initially received from the enemy tank, the opponent mage cast her ultimate to finish him off.

The mage character of the Lee Gaming squad was like the goddess version instead of the regular viper-woman appearance. Because of her skin upgrade, her entire costume was changed and she was more noble looking than Clark's mage.

This mage had the ability to manipulate lightning and electricity. She can make superconductors out of her ability and electrocute her enemies. Her ultimate was a bolt of malevolent lightning. The moment the ultimate was pressed, the lightning was summoned and struck the enemy.

Witnessing these effects from the goddess mage that performed a beautiful kill, the audience swiftly clapped their hands and applauded wildly.

"That lightning strike is too good to see! There is golden light on its effect!"

"They are equal to their score for having one kill and also one tower."

"It's fine, Clark. You can always respawn!" Claire comforted the man after seeing how he was badly affected by the loss. She was on the other side of the jungle when the man requested for her to back up. No matter how adept she was in using an assassin, it was impossible for her to save Clark.

The same as Sofia's tank and Joey's support, they have not yet arrived at the location of Clark when his mage died.

"The time you respawn, we will wipe them. Don't be so sad by just a single death!" Sofia consoled the man again.

"Yeah, you will kill that tank later on. You have to focus on the game. Don't focus on your death," Stephen joined.

At that moment, the four of them had totally become an advisor in the middle of the tournament. Such had never happened in online tournament before. Some players would even blame each others if they died.

His teammates understood that there was no way for him to escape with the three opponents making him a target. But as for Clark, he had really failed the team by the kill.

"Why are you so devastated. It is normal to die in the game! If your character doesn't die then you are definitely cheating! HAHA" Joey playfully reminded him.

"I just can't accept how I did not see it coming! I was looking forward to getting into the middle lane. I already pressed the teleport. If I was a few seconds quicker on pressing the command, then,  this could have been avoided!" Clark reflected refusing to be consoled by his team members. He stared at his gray skin and the countdown for him to return to the game.

Although his mage character was killed, Clark was still able to watch the progress in the bottom lane.

Sofia emerged on the side of the river and her tank released a hook. The execution was perfect and the mage goddess of the Lee Gaming squad was dragged directly to the side of the Chronos squad.

The moment the mage goddess arrived in front of CEO UNRIVALED, the character was petrified. The effect of not being able to do anything lasted only a couple of seconds but it was more than enough for Sofia to execute her skills properly.

William was quick to rotate his thumb on the mobile screen and moved his tank to rescue the mage. However, before William could spin his character, Sofia deliberately dashed forward and knocked back all the opponents in front of her.

Claire snatched the goddess mage and comboed her. The mage died in just a two-hit combo.

"The assassin had been getting buffs from all sides of the jungle! Now she is very overpowered!" the young commentator spoke after seeing the overall stats of the players.

After the death of their mage, William immediately step back and retreated. Some of his skills were in cool down and it was not cool for them to continue their clash.

"No, don't retreat! Move forward!" Brent ordered. His character was holding a gun and he had almost beaten the Chronos archer.

Upon hearing this order, the Lee Gaming Squad members became hesitant to follow. They had recognized that the assassin use already got the full build and she was also full buffed.

"Move, move!"

"Young master Brent, let's retreat. The Chronos assassin is already a beast! With my current HP, I might die!" William spoke. He emphasized the possibility of him dying in the clash.

"Why? Our stats are all stronger than our opponents! We must push this before this round becomes a long game! Now is the perfect time to wipe them out!" Brent urged.

"They have a healer, young master Brent. With their healer, we are at the very edge of advantage!" the fighter user stated.

The group was torn into two sides, but in the end, they obeyed Brent and decided to push the game.

Countless animation effects followed to appear on the large screen as two sides have gone into a full clash. Two tanks parried while trying to absorb the damages of their companions! Both of them got the highest defensive items and shields.

"Quick, quick, quick!" Joey could not help but muttered to his character as he prayed for his skill for healing was still in cooldown.

The notifications of deaths followed to appeared. William's tank died! Then, it was followed by Sofia's tank. The next was the fighter of then more notifications followed.

It had become more and more chaotic as they pressed their skills like crazy on their phone
