Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Monica blinked, bit her lip, and said, "You're acting a little weird today. What's wrong with you?"

Malcolm turned away slightly and averted his gaze. There was a subtle change in his eyes, but Monica was able to spot it. He asked seriously, "Who am I to you?"

"You're my husband," Monica answered directly.

Malcolm could not help asking in a low voice, "Do you have something that you're hiding from me?"

Monica's heart skipped a beat. She frowned. Did Malcolm already know that she was sick?

She licked her lips and lowered her eyes. She definitely looked guilty, but she was determined to keep her secret. She then took a deep breath and calmly said, "Like I said, I don't know what you're talking about."

"You're really that set on hiding it from me, aren't you?" Malcolm asked.

The expression on Monica's face tensed up. She was about to stand up, but then Malcolm's big hand was already wrapped around her arm. He took her to the limo.

Monica was taken aback by her husband's unexpected moves. He grabbed her so fast that the meat skewers in her hand fell to the ground.

"My barbecue..." Monica looked back at the meat on the ground and swallowed.

Malcolm glared at her.

He then opened the limo door, ushered Monica in, got in himself, and slammed the door shut.

The inside of the limo was a little stuffy. Monica sat on the seat with her legs clasped together and her hands on her lap.

Monica did not understand what was wrong with Malcolm. She could only think of two possible reasons why he suddenly lost his temper—either he just found out about her condition, or he found out that she had a hand in Ivy's suicide. Either way, Monica was in for a fight.

As she sat there in silence, Monica tried to figure out which of the two reasons was more likely. Malcolm still did not care much about her. Although the two of them had already reconciled, he still did not seem to have love for her. They were husband and wife without a bond of love. It was really pathetic.

Bu

mother, and it must have been one of the deepest regrets in her heart. Monica only hoped that after her death, she and Ivy could meet in another world where she would do anything to make things right with her.

In her next life, she would not take Ivy away from Malcolm.

She might have become Mrs. Yu, but she would always be just his nominal wife. Malcolm's heart had always belonged to Ivy, and it died the day she leaped to her death.

It was so tiring to live with a heartless man.

"You're my wife. How can you be my burden? How could you even say that, Monica? What are you thinking?" Frowning, Malcolm felt as if his heart had just been stabbed with a knife. What Monica just said hurt him deeply.

"I'm saying what I'm thinking. You've never loved me anyway. What do you care if I die?"

"Monica!" Malcolm could not believe his ears. He unintentionally bellowed at Monica for what she just said.

With a casual smile on her face, Monica said calmly, "Why are you getting upset? Am I wrong? It's Ivy you've loved this entire time. When she died, your heart died with her. All these years, what I've had isn't a husband but an empty shell. You've barely even touched me since our son turned two, and you treat me like some roommate you don't care about but can't get rid of. Tell me, is that a life for a husband and wife?
