Chapter 835 I Trust Him

Mandy immediately frowned and felt a sneaking suspicion blossoming. Was Nathan having an affair?

What could the secret be about?

After pondering for a while, Mandy had complicated feelings and started to feel more and more uneasy. She stretched out a slender finger to hold onto her coffee cup and squeezed it unintentionally. "What's wrong with him? Tell me."

Bruce remained silent for a few moments. He gazed at Mandy's beautiful face and took a deep breath before saying, "This afternoon, my assistant and I went to a western-style restaurant for lunch. I saw him with Eve in a private room."

He had only uttered a few words, but those words were still a heavy blow to Mandy.

There was a "buzzing" sound in her mind. She looked at Bruce sharply, as if she were trying to determine whether he was telling the truth or not.

The atmosphere between the two of them became awkward in an instant. After mulling over everything, Mandy said, "Were you able to see his face clearly, or only his back?"

She managed to keep herself composed. In her mind, if Nathan really took Eve to that restaurant and ran into Bruce, he would tell her about it. If he only saw him from behind, it was probably not Nathan. Many people looked similar from behind. Maybe he saw someone else!

"I only saw their backs, but I was able to get a picture of them." Bruce paused with a small smile on his face. He had predicted that Mandy would doubt his words, so he took a photo of Nathan with Eve.

He browsed through his phone and showed it to Mandy. It was a picture of Nathan standing next to Eve in a western-style restaurant with a quiet environment.

Mandy's heart sank immediately. She had no idea why Nathan would go out to see Eve. He had promised her that he wouldn't meet up with Eve.

Mandy's faith in Nathan exceeded his expectations.

After failing to instigate a fight between the two, he didn't attempt to try again. Mandy still trusted Bruce and would've never assumed that he had tried to sabotage their relationship on purpose. She only thought that he was trying to warn her.

However, Bruce wasn't that cruel. He suddenly smiled and his eyes softened. "I don't know what they were talking about in the room, but later on, I think I heard them quarreling."

Mandy squinted her eyes at him and asked, "Quarreling?"

"Yes, it seemed like Eve was very agitated," Bruce replied with a serious look in his eyes.

After hearing what he said, Mandy felt relaxed at once. She was now certain that Nathan didn't have anything special with Eve.

"Before Nathan went to work today, he said something strange to me. He said that he wanted to tie up some loose ends as soon as possible. I had a feeling that he was talking about Eve, and I was afraid that he would do something reckless, so I didn't want him to go."
