Chapter 800 Get Married Tomorrow

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Fiona's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't thought of that in a while. The last time they attempted to get married, they went to the Marriage Bureau, and things had gone awry because of Monica. She never expected that Monica would be the one to bring it up now.

"I don't want to get married anymore. I want your grandchild to be born out of wedlock," Ethan teased.

"Whatever. Don't come crying to me when your wife leaves you," Monica joked back.

Ethon seemed hesitant at first. After a while, he said decisively, "We'll get married tomorrow."

"All right, here's the household register. Remember to give it back to me after tomorrow." Leaning forward, Monica took out a dark red residence booklet from a drawer in the tea table.

Fiona grinned from ear to ear. She was more than happy with how things had turned out—Monica was actually nice to her, and she had already accepted her.

The atmosphere became silent. After a while, Ethon said, his voice deep, "Thank you, Mom."

"Nana, you and Ethon should register for marriage first. As for the wedding ceremony, we'll have to discuss that with your family first. We'll treat you well. Don't worry. Let me know when your aunt and uncle's free; so we can arrange dinner with us," Monica said, smiling sincerely.

"Okay." Fiona was so excited that she immediately agreed.

At about half-past eight, Ethon took Fiona back to the apartment. She had refused Monica and Malcolm's enthusiastic invitation for her to stay the night. She wanted to go back to her apartment. She really had no plans on staying the night, so she didn't bring any change of clothes.

As Fiona sat quietly in the passenger seat, she leaned her head against the window, immersed in her own thoughts. She looked outside, enjoying the neon lights and bustling night scene.

Around last month, Stanley and Madeline had gone to the detention center and the drug rehab

iona. Afterwards, Fiona was adopted by the Zhou Family.

Later on, her father was convicted of intentional homicide. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. As for her mother, she was found to be a drug addict and was sent to the drug rehabilitation center.

It had already been ten years, but she was still addicted to drugs. Likewise, Fiona still hated her more than ever.

Fiona's parents had been classmates in college and were each other's first love. It would be easy to assume that their relationship was enviable. However, as time passed by, it became increasingly evident that they weren't compatible with each other, considering how similar they were to each other. After years of being together, they got fed up with each other. Their patience for one another quickly ran out.

They were together for 14 years, and it only took six months to break them up.

It was then that Fiona realized that not everyone who loved each other could get married and be happy. Some could get married, but there was no guarantee that they would be happy.

When she was young, she always thought that people got married because they loved each other. But in fact, many people got married for other reasons. Some could be happy despite not really loving each other.
